Fish Big Bear Charter Service

We wanted to take our two kids fishing for their very first time so I was really wanting their first experience to be a good one. We had Curt (Captain Curt) as our guide and he was wonderful. The kids had such a good experience, and Curt used to fish professionally and competed in tournaments across the country. The guy knows how to catch fish! I highly recommend!

Curt and his assistant, Justin, were fantastic!!! They made our trip to Big Bear Lake a memorable one. We chartered their boat for 3 hours on a Thursday afternoon, and it was extremely pleasant. We were picked up right at the dock of our hotel, so no need to drive and park anywhere. My hubby and son were set up by Justin to fish, using 6 differently placed rods, and with Justin’s assistance and Curt’s expert steering, the boys were able to catch several beautiful lake trout, 5 of which we took back to our lodge to cook and enjoy that evening (using a recipe for marinade that Curt provided, and after Justin expertly gutted and cleaned all the fish for us! Bonus!!). I was treated to a relaxing afternoon of reading on the water in the delightful sunshine, with the occasional break when I photographed a catch. Curt and Justin are professional, friendly, and punctual. We highly recommend them if you want a successful and relaxing lake fishing experience.

Capt Curt and Jack are awesome guides. They really know the lake and we had a great time. We caught several large rainbow trout and even had fish hit on all 6 lines at once!
I can’t say enough about how patient and kind they both were with my son, 6, and daughter, 4. All 5 of us caught fish and we’d definitely recommend this charter to anyone looking to discover Big Bear Lake.

I was referred to Fish Big Bear by another guide when they couldn’t accommodate a short notice trip I wanted to take my daughter on. I’m certain I owe them in some way now but I don’t know how I’m going to pay it back seeing as that should I ever (and I probably will) want to use a boat guide service for Big Bear Lake, I have my guys. Curt and Cody were respectful yet fun, they were totally comfortable with having a five year old on the boat who didn’t know anything about fishing but definitely wanted to catch a big one.
Hey, it wasn’t perfect. We caught three monsters in the first five minutes and then it sucked for a while. That’s not their fault. They stayed the course and showed no signs of frustration. My daughter took a nice nap while we toured around the lake and commented on the never ending supply of comedy our fellow human beings combined with boats can provide.
Then it picked up again and we were right back on it. Daughter woke up and we got her hooked up again. All told it was a total win. I gave the guys what I thought was a pretty nice tip and they were genuinely appreciative. Boat was clean. There was a never ending supply of soft drinks and water. When daughter got cold they fished out an extra sweater for her. Well done gentlemen.

Captain Curt Dills and his first mate Martin are top notch! I brought out my 2 little girls ages 4 and 6, and they loved it! A big clean boat, drinks, and snacks. We caught lots of fish to boot, and the price was low!
