We were on a mission to bike around big bear for Memorial Day weekend but our buddy injured his back so we were skeptical. Thank goodness for Goldsmiths! They had the new electrical bikes (with throttle and pedal assist), and let us test the three types before renting them. I had the big fat tire one and our friend had the mountain bike style. They were amazing! We went down and around the lake, up to snow summit, and even up part of the mountain bike trail off knickerbocker. While people were walking their bikes up the hill we had no problem giving a little extra umph from the bike. The staff was also super friendly and knowledgable about the bikes and surrounding areas. I would highly recommend trying the bikes, and renting from this business. We will definitely be back multiple times this summer!

not really sure why this store has such a high rating. one of the guys just blindly gave me a different size of boots because they didnt have the right size for me. i had to see the sizing to realize that its the different size.
they dont have any demo ski boots either. i went to the store after noon and didnt get a welcome or any greeting when i entered the store. i had to wait quite a bit to rent.
the quality of the rental boots were not good.
i got a refund and went to different rental shop.

Great customer service. Great staff. The equipment seemed in good condition. We went Snowboard, helmet and boots. We upgraded to the newer boots and they were well worth it due to the ease of not having to contend with lacing. They open 7am and returns are by 9am the next day. Special thanks to Jacob for the excellent customer service and walking us through the fitting and return process. Everyone there seemed to be in good spirits and the pricing was affordable. Will definitely be back next time we return to Big Bear.

Great snowboard rental shop! The gear is really nice compared to other shops! We were a little late returning our rentals and Dallas was very kind to not charge us this time around! Great service! :)

If you ever have to repair, rent or buy winter gear this is the spot! Of all the shops up here this one is the most equipped to get you what you need! Great friendly shop techs, the amazing boot fitter Jim helped me get my ski boots to fit exactly how I wanted them. Closest shop to Bear and Fully equipped to handle your needs, can’t get any better!

I went in to just try out boots and those guys took all the time I needed to make sure I get what I’m looking for and made sure I’m going to be another happy costumer :)

After doing some research for a reasonable price and friendly snowboard rental place, Goldsmith’s pop up. It has really good review compared to other rental place in big bear. So we gave it a shot yesterday. Stopped by to pick up a snowboard rental package includes the board, bindings and shoes. The total came out to be only $ 24.00! That’s such a great price compared to everywhere else especially with great customer service.
My friends rented from Sports Chalet the night before, it was a nightmare. Long lines and inefficiency employees. Maybe because it was during the peak season and the workers there are not used to the busy rental traffic? Sports Chalet’s standard package is $ 32 vs. Goldsmith’s is only $ 24.00 :)
I’m very satisfied with the rental and customer service here at Goldsmith’s. Will definitely come back to rent again until I get better at it to buy my own snowboard set :)

Best shop ever. Leroys tried to sell me size 8 snowboard boots when I am a size 5, they did not care. They told me «sorry it’s all we have.»
I went to goldsmiths and they had no boots on display. You have to sit with a boot specialist if you want to purchase boots, and they talk with you for a long time discussing what you want– they bring you different boots, make you do different exercises, and really really care that you are satisfied with your boots. I am extremely happy with their services. Awesome place!

Their expertise in boot fitting is second to none as is their ski and board knowledge. The most import part of their success is their customer service, they always seem to do a little extra to make the customer happy.
I’ve been skiing for than 30 years and Goldsmith’s in one of the if not the best all around ski and board shop, period.

This is the best place for all your skiing/​boarding needs! They have plenty of different sizes and equipment. My fiancé and I went in last minute and they fitted us and had us out the door in no time! My son hurt himself on the slopes landing us in the medics at Snow Summit causing us to be late in returning our rental gear. Dallas was completely awesome when we showed up the next day and explained why we were late returning our gear and was even concerned about how my son was doing. Turns out my son was fine, our gear was returned without extra charge and we now have a wonderful place to rent from in the future!!! We will be back! Thanks for all your help, Dallas!

Best rentals and gear shop in Big Bear! They are masters at fitting boots and everything else to insure the best skiing or boarding experience! I’ve bought ski boots, snowboards and lots of other gear here, always an amazing experience.
Their new shop is completely fabulous!
I have also brought in all sorts of things for repair. Not only do they show me or my kids what they are doing and in some cases how to do it ourselves next time, they also instruct on how to avoid damage or weird wear issues in the future.

Alex and Stacy went above and beyond to help my boyfriend put on his new burton bindings. Even though the store was jam packed they were determined to help us out! Great store with a lot of inventory! Highly recommended!

Goldsmiths is HANDS DOWN the best ski and snowboard shop in Big Bear. I’ve never received better customer service at any establishment — period.
Here’s the story: my girlfriend and I drove up from Lake Arrowhead in the morning to go to Bear Mountain to snowboard as we had bought tickets online the night before. I flew down from Northern California a few days earlier with my snowboard and a set of new Burton bindings I had bought on eBay.
After struggling to self-​install my bindings on NYE morning we decided we’d go to a ski/​board shop as we figured they’d be able to help me out. We stopped at a few board shops and they basically told me I was out of luck.
We stumbled upon Goldsmiths on our way to Bear Mountain. Alex and Stacey took 20 – 25 minutes finding a solution to my problem even though the place was absolutely slammed with NYE skiers/​boarders. The level of care and customer service is unmatched, and I wouldn’t recommend another place in Big Bear for anything related to snow sports. A+ service. They found a solution to my problem with a smile on their faces and didn’t even charge me.

Alex took great care of us working on sizing my 10year old on his new snow board. This is the best shop in Big Bear hands down!

The cashier was very nice and patient with us. Price was fair. They have a good selections of jackets, hats and gloves.

My husband and I had a great experience here. Alex was great at getting us what we needed. And Jim was so sweet to keep my 4 year old daughter happy. Thank you for all your help. I can wait to use my new board.

This place is awesome. We went on a Saturday and the service was very FAST and EFFICIENT despite a lot of people renting. Returns were super easy also. Service was great and the staff were friendly. CONVENIENT location right at the bottom of snow summit.
VERY AFFORDABLE. Bought a groupon and used a coupon code so the cost for snowboard + boots was $ 10.30/person for 1 day. And we were able to use the groupon on Saturday. Highly recommended shop for your snowboard rental!

It was our first time snowboarding and we found this place located next to the Snow Summit parking lot.
Place is very small and tight.

Price is really cheap and affordable.
Staff is friendly and quick.
Very easy and convenient.
P. S. They have tons of snowboarding gear as well if you want to buy something instead of renting.
