CLOSED! Someone take down this Unilocal listing please. It’s misleading. We wasted our time looking for this location. Only to find that it was out of business.

Out of business! Long gone. Kaput! Closed for good. Move on. My favorite hardware store in Big Bear. It is unfortunate that a chain store came in and helped put this institution out of business. A recent fire destroyed one of the storage buildings . The sign along the boulevard is still there and the lights remind us of what a good business this was.

Great small-town hardware store that has always had exactly what I needed. They even opened a package to pull a gasket to prevent me having to buy an entire assembly. Why shop at those chain hardware(now a DIY store in Big Bear) just help the small family owned places and shop where they treat you like family.

I like this place a lot more than the other place in town. It feels bigger and more organized, plus they ask if I need help before I even need to ask. I ALWAYS need help when I’m in a hardware store; 100% guaranteed I have no idea what I’m doing there, or with the stuff I get. Gabriel has helped us a couple times and really seems to know a lot about all kinds of stuff. Riffenburgh may not be as big as Home Depot, but 99% of the time, they’ve got what I need. They even have a huge lumber yard out back.

A good selection of hardware items, and all the snow season essentials for the home. One of the employees gave me a tour of the lumber and building supplies yard, directly behind the store. It’s quite vast. For part-time Big Bear residents, Riffneburgh is a good place to buy hardware and other supplies that cannot wait. For those items that can wait, you’ll generally find lower prices and a better selection off the mountain. Still, I find myself visiting Riffenburgh quite often.
