Chef Allen was incredible! My friends husband hired him for a special dinner in big bear at our cabin as a birthday treat! He per-coordinated a site visit with the property owner and showed up at 12 as promised with help. When he arrived there were no surprises as he already had a walk-thru completed. He knew where everything in the kitchen was and brought extra tables and had them set up immediately to accommodate all the guests. Throughout the afternoon he cooked up appetizers and our main course. The entire cabin smelled incredible. My favorite thing he made was the stuffed mushrooms with sausage. I always see the same stuffed mushrooms with breadcrumbs and spinach. This was new, it was exciting, it was amazing and i will admit i ate 4 of them… oops. The sliders with the steak were also accompanied with a horseradish«sauce» that was excellent. The steak was cooked to perfection and it left me wanting a second serving but they went quick! We had a set dinner, we were served this amazing ice tea Chef Allen brewed for us and chilled. It was amazing, and fragrant. He had cooked up a chicken parm with pasta that was breaded to perfection and it was a very generous portion. In total, the Chef and his crew stayed with us for about 10 hours, he is AMAZING! I recommend him for any event, it adds a special touch and best of all we were able to enjoy ourselves and our meal instead of spend our vacation in the kitchen!

As a travel agent, I am often asked by my clients to procure a personal chef when they are out of town, renting a home, etc. Easy enough, right? No. I can’t tell you the number of fails I have experienced trusting the advice of locals and having a «cook» show up rather than a chef. The difference between the two is immeasurable, mostly on the level of professionalism, preparedness, actual culinary knowledge, and the worst would be the cooks who have a house filled with hungry people waiting on a meal that was supposed to be ready an hour ago… You will experience none of those issues with Chef Allan! From start to finish he is very professional, organized, and talented. He listened to what my clients were looking for, offered suggestions based upon the type of meals we were looking for, provided me with ideas to share with my clients, and was truly able to wow them. I also must share that these clients were not just everyday people, this was a high profile celebrity athlete, world champion, and someone who demands excellence and Chef Allan delivered! He’s also able to whip something up spur of the moment. My client saw there was a bowl of apples in the kitchen and asked if Chef could make them an apple pie… well, ask and you shall receive! Chef Allan made apple pie from scratch and my client was blown away! When the client left Big Bear, he told me to keep the chef’s info on file as he wants to go back in the winter and this time bring the whole family to enjoy. Thank you Chef Allan for making me look good and taking such great care of these VIP’s!

On a recent visit to Big Bear, we were fortunate enough to be invited to a private dinner that was prepared by Chef Allan for ~25 people. The food was prepared at a private home, and was absolutely delicious. We have done extensive traveling throughout the world, and the quality, tastes/flavors of the food were as good as some of the finest restaurants at which we have eaten. Our menu included: Appetizers: Chopped Liver Salad with Creamy Italian Dressing and Chicken Soup with Matzo Balls Beef Brisket with Special Garlic Mashed Red Potatoes and Sweet and Sour Chicken with White Rice. Also served Tsimis, Sautéed Mushrooms, Yams, Honey Glazed Carrots and Sautéed String Beans Dessert: Fresh Apple Pie I would highly recommend him for a special occasion, or just for a special treat for yourself. Chef Allan really knows what he is doing. Chef Allan has a list of some of his favorite dishes/recipes, but can also prepare almost anything that you request.

Chef Allan prepared dinner for 24 for us to celebrate our 50th. Most had Prime Rib, and I have never had better! The Blackened Fish was also outstanding. All 24 of our guests raved about the food and the special touch of having it prepared in our apartments at The Club at Big Bear. Special appetizers and the cheesecake dessert made for a unique evening. We highly recommend Chef Allan.

We hired Chef Allan to do a Valentine’s Day dinner for 6 at a house we rented. He cooked up a storm all afternoon and we had a delicious meal in the evening. Two of us are vegetarians and he created something great(vegetarian rack of lamb!) for us. Service was great and perfection combination of attentive while still giving us privacy.

Chef Allan was a pleasure to work with in planning our 50th anniversary party for 25 people in Big Bear. He was flexible in designing a menu that would appeal to our unique family tastes(young children, gourmet loving adults, vegan, gluten free, etc.) He cooked a delicious bar-be-cue at our large rented cabin, served everything beautifully, and cleaned up so we did not have to do a thing! Chef Allan and Elizabeth are very professional and friendly. I was very impressed that he made an extra trip to the store to get eggplant for the grilled vegetables when he found out that was a favorite of mine. Our party was a huge success largely due to Chef Allan’s efforts, flexibility and personal touches. He is a great choice for a personal chef in Big Bear.

Chef Allan is awesome! He did an amazing job with my dinner party for 15 people in Big Bear Lake. He and his wife went above and beyond to make sure everyone had a fantastic experience. He was on time, courteous, and fun to be around. He customized the menu to our needs by making special requested items. He even produced a printed copy of our menu to take home as a souvenir. The food was all great. I’d particularly recommend the BBQ Beef Ribs, BBQ Beans, and Garlic Bread. Chef Allan is truly one of the best. Highly recommend.
