This is the best tasting spring water I’ve had. It was piped down to Chicago over a 100 years ago and sold at the worlds fair. It has a very high mineral content, so much that my coffee maker gets clogged up within a month or so. Some people believe that spring water is healthy because of the minerals. I don’t know, but I’ve noticed some of the people filling up appear to have spent a very long time on this earth. It’s self serve and you have to bring your own jugs or containers. There’s three spigots that sit high and flow fairly fast. A big 7 gallon water jug will fit underneath no problem. It’s a short walk from the road and it’s at the bottom of a hill so be careful. The owner has taken measures to make it safe by adding gravel and grating on the walk path. In 1893 it cost a penny a glass at the worlds fair in Chicago. Now it’s free… sort of. Hygeia springs is privately owned and It costs money for the maintenance and electricity to run the pumps. Donations are not only encouraged, but necessary for the owner to keep it operating. There’s a metal lock box for donations near the water spigots. I’ve been getting water here for a few years now and I’ve never met the owner(s) but I’ve been told they’re very nice. This water is absolutely worth a few bucks and the ten mile drive.

Fresh, clean spring water available 24⁄7 for FREE!!! Yes, please! Bring your own containers to transport the water home in. The spring is located on private land which the owner has generously allowed the public to access; he even supplies the electricity for the pump to bring the water to the surface! Donations to help pay the electric bill are always appreciated, but not required to get the water. 6÷2015÷100
