I just moved to Big Lake from Minneapolis and prices here are truthfully as high as Lund’s. Out of a list of ten regular grocery items that are standard for me, I was able to find four. Not even half. No edamame, wheat berries, Amy’s Organic cheese enchiladas, Elf herring, on and on. I know this isn’t Uptown, but come on. And the huge selection of frozen pizzas, chips, slim jims, and frozen dinners is laughably overpriced. They have friendly service and good produce and meat departments, but unless I’m looking for mayonnaise-based deli salads and broasted chicken, I’m going to Cub.

Back in the old days, the grocery store in Big Lake was«Steven’s Super Valu.» It was laughably bad. Thankfully those days are gone forever, because now Big Lake has this awesome Coborn’s. Decent meat counter and a wide selection of grocery items are plusses. The produce is good too, and I appreciate that they are buying from(and identifying in store displays) the local farms. The store itself is clean and well cared for, and the staff are always friendly.

We stopped by here on our way out of town and it was a good stop. The store is clean and well stocked. We found what we needed quickly and without needing to ask anyone where things were. I love Coborn’s and enjoy using their delivery on occasion. Sometimes I wish they did carry additional brands but I can always find something that fits my needs.
