This was a great little campground right off the C&O trail. Clean, quiet and shady, the sites were all well kept and maintained, better than the C&O national park sites which dot the trail. Each site had a spacious and clear tent platform, a picnic table, fire/grill, hook stand, and small table/platform near the grill. We biked in from the trail and couldn’t find out how to register, but a pair of very friendly rangers came through before dark and even went back to their office to retrieve their credit machine for us, rather than making us bike around the park grounds to their office. I think it was $ 16. They told us the site also had«volunteers» staying in a camper at the back of the site all night if we needed something. We didn’t walk around the fort itself, but it looked cool.

Very beautiful park. Quiet, scenic with the tow path near. Perfect for hiking and getting in some history or a picnic!
