I had a Reuben and Maria had a turkey & ham sandwich. They were both very good but nothing super special. Fairly quick service. Nice setting in a brick building.

Such a pleasant atmosphere. I loved the décor and exposed brick. They have great baked goods. I had a great iced tea and the best roast beef sand which I’ve ever eaten. Would definitely go back!

Peppers was my favorite place to get lunch when I lived in Michigan. Their food is delicious and exactly what you crave during a cold winter. Their prices are a little high but it’s worth it. I was obsessed with their grilled cheese. Definitely try it!

We are in town for a college visit and based in the reviews where really excited to try the place. The menu is just as described with tons of creative choices and the old reliable create your own sandwich. I decided on the half dumpling soup and corned beef. The soup tasted ok but had a green tint. The corned beef along with the ham and turkey the other diners had was straight out of a package. It was decent quality but I was hoping for more. My wife had tomato Basil soup and grilled cheese. Once again it was good but im not sure I would run back.

Best deli in town! Classic deli food. My only complaint is that the tables are always sticky. But the food is good

I had no idea a place like this exists in such a shitty town. Very nice joint, not really cheap but excellent food. Lots of dining space and very helpful employees. I like the style where you order and they bring it out to you.

HOLYSMOKES! I’ve never been so impressed with a local sandwich joint. The menu selection is absolutely mad and they’re very accommodating. You can basically substitute, add, or remove anything you like — be that bread type, condiments, meat, or veggies! I do find it a little pricey for a fast-paced lunch spot but the sandwiches are enormous and they have some great soup/salad combos. There is also a nice selection of fresh, locally baked goods at the front counter, as well as a wide variety of drinks ranging from coffee to smoothies to Italian soda. I never made it for their breakfast menu, which I think ends at 10, but the choices sounded great and the prices were a bit lower than at lunchtime. Wait times can get a bit«long» in the middle of the day(10 to 15 minutes), but it’s totally worth it — there is plenty of seating, upstairs and downstairs. Just grab a coffee and a newspaper and enjoy what seems to be the hub of local people and great, fresh food!

I can’t be in Big Rapids Michigan without visiting the beautiful downtown area and having a least one lunch at Pepper’s…a local eatery that is favored for their delicious sandwiches and deli atmosphere… I can only mention one sandwich because after eating the first #15… I can’t bear to try anything else! Hot Peppers! is it’s name and does not disappoint… piled high with pastrami… pepperoni…Swiss cheese… lettuce…onions…banana peppers… jalapeño peppers… hot sauce… horseradish sauce… Dijon mustard… and grilled on light rye… AWESOME…add extra meat for a buck fifty… AWESOMER! I can’t wait to visit again!

Pleasant independently owned sandwich shop in downtown Big Rapids. Good sandwiches with quality ingredients and friendly service. I particularly like the reuben here. It’s good and not at all greasy. The also have a bruschetta/pesto sandwich that looked and smelled really good. In addition to sandwiches, they also have a few soups and salads(which others in my party there today said were very good). The menu hard to read and very busy(it’s light chalk on a chalkboard high overhead in small writing). It’s also not as large(in terms of offerings) as it first appears; most of the options are just the same fillings but hot, cold, or on a different bread. All in all, a great place to have hot or cold sandwiches, wraps, salads, etc.

My wife went to college in Big Rapids and took me here. Needless to say we always stop in when we are in town. I always get a sandwich and I’m never disappointed. They are quite large. The menu offers quite a bit of variety really. Great place if your in the area.

I haven’t been here in awhile, but this is my favorite place to eat in Big Rapids when I visit my alma mater. Their sandwiches are a perfect blend of all the right flavors for whatever gastronomic delight you choose. Aside from the sandwich you always get a large amount of deli-style potato chips and a delicious pickle. The owner and staff come to know you if you are a regular. To add, on a cold Michigan fall or winter day, a cup of soup from here hits the spot. Tell all your friends, this is the comfort food they have been looking for.

I miss this place so much. Exquisitely seasoned sandwiches piled high with meat and more meat. Wonderful soup that only needs salt. Huge pickles. I haven’t been there since I moved away 7 years ago, but I will stop in if I’m ever back in town for more than a day–(Schu-burger at Schuberg’s a few doors down is first on my list for sadly missed lunch fare.)

It’s been a while since I’ve been to Peppers, but when I lived in Big Rapids, this was my go-to place for lunch. The staff was always extremely friendly and helpful, and the sandwiches were amazing!
