We stayed at the Lake Condos at Big Sky over Christmas week in two 2-bedroom units on RCI points exchange with 4 adults and 4 kids, and had an amazing time. Santa brought us over a foot of fresh powder for Christmas(thank you, Santa!), and so had an incredible time skiing, sledding, playing in the snow, and warming up in the Jacuzzi and by the fireplace. And Big Sky Lake Condos were a perfect base to enjoy it all. LOCATION: Location is fantastic; right at Big Sky Resort — the«biggest ski»(most acreage) in the US; tons of powder, and wonderful, long runs for everyone from beginner to extreme. You can either walk the ½ mile to the runs(a long walk w/ski equipment, but not bad without, or downhill), or you can take the free shuttle that picks up/drops off from the office every half hour. Or, you can drive, drop off in the free 15-minute parking, and park in the free ski lot nearby. UNITS: I was very impressed with the units. Not fancy, but very spacious; comfortable, and very well-equipped, and ours had beautiful views of Lone Mountain from one side, and the frozen, snow-covered Lake Levinski from the other. We had one 2-bdrm, 2 bath w/loft that sleeps 8(the kids loved the loft), and one 2 bdrm, 2 bath. Both had 2 balconies, gas fireplace, very spacious, lots of storage(interior coat closet, exterior ski locker), and extremely well-stocked kitchen(including items you don’t always find, like, hand mixer, Tupperware, tinfoil, saran wrap, measuring cups, spoons, cookie sheets, plus crock pots for free check out, etc.). AMENITIES: Main amenity(other than skiing, of course) is the outdoor hot tub and heated pool(and heated indoor dressing room, which is much appreciated when it’s snowing), but they also have an office w/free games/puzzles to check out, and $ 1 video rentals, plus free hot chocolate/tea/cider(you can ask them to open it up, if it’s not). Linen exchange on Wednesdays. Big Sky Resort has a lot of activities daily, that you can take part in, either for free or fee — kids’ crafts, movies, yoga($ 15), live music at the Carabiner, Chet’s and/or Whiskey Jack’s, etc. TIPS: They don’t have salt/pepper, coffee, or shampoo/conditioner/lotion, so you’ll want to bring those. Also, there are little markets on the mountain, but if you plan to do much cooking, recommend you load up on groceries down in Bozeman. For ski rentals, totally recommend East Slope Outdoors in Town Center, about 7 miles down the mountain. Great place to stay for your Big Sky ski vacation!

Nice place to stay on mountain They have pretty much covered everything from a fully stocked kitchen, a heated room for storing ski stuff,(we came in the winter), a convenient shuttle to take you to the village(2 minute ride up, longer coming back), a pool and hot tub area that is super clean and well maintained, heated concrete so the snow and ice don’t pile up, a fireplace to take the chill off any morning, and beautiful views. Not much negative to sa other than nitpicky stuff like you can hear the upstairs neighbors come and go etc., and I know we all come here to enjoy the outdoors but at the end of the day when you want to watch a movie the TV could be bigger! Being in a bigger condo means you’re a little further from the ski hill, so you can stay in a hotel slopeside or enjoy a bigger condo unit it just depends what kind of adventure you want. We will definitely stay here again!

This is our second time to stay here. These condominiums are not fancy but very clean and roomy. Plus the cost is affordable. We got two condos for 9 of us and ate in one condo for our meals and did not feel cramped. Plus it’s less than a quarter mile from the bottom of the mountain.

Very comfortable and updated accommodations and the area is as pretty as it gets! 2 bedroom and 2 bedroom with loft condos overlooking lake and mountain. The lifts are just a short walk from the units but with ski gear you’ll want to hop on the complimentary shuttle bus. Units offer full kitchen, two good sized bedrooms, two full baths, fireplace, spacious living area and nearby parking. Most have balconies or patios with grille as well. The loft units have an extra bed in the upper level. There is a nicely heated pool and two hot tubs(hot and extra-hot) a short walk from the units. The only complaint(?) I have is more about the area than about the Condos — not a lot of ‘shopping’ available. This not Aspen — it is a ‘Skiers’ resort. Most of the shops in the area are ski related, groceries, liquor stores etc rather than clothing, art, boutiques etc. The restaurants are good but not catering to the ‘pretty people’. Everything is very accessible and low key. The staff is friendly and very knowledgeable and the units are clean and well maintained. A great place for a family vacation — winter or summer!
