River Rock Lodge

Stayed here this past weekend. Great location and awesome room. The front desk are so helpful and nice. The downstairs lobby is absolutely amazing. My only wish is that they had a microwave in the room, but I think they had one in the lobby. Not sure. I will definitely stay here again.

I went in the Winter snowboarding at Big Sky Resort. The hotel is in town center that is about 6 miles from the resort but this is a good thing because the town has many lower cost places to eat and services you can’t find at the resort.
The hotel is upgraded and the rooms were newly remodeled. However, the air conditioning /​heating units were older and the unit in my room was not working properly. The management tried to fix it but was not successful. This was a minor problem.
Breakfast comes with the room and it is great. The parking is close to the rooms. The wifi is good. The TV is newer and you can plug in a roku etc to the hdmi port. The rooms are big. The staff is friendly. I would stay there again. The front room has a big fireplace. Many places to walk to dinner. The place has a hot tub. Good pillow selection. Good value.

Very nice place! Exceptionally clean and love the feel. We checked in late (2:30 am) bec we drove from Washington back to Texas and there was a very nice lady at front desk who had paperwork ready to go. Beautiful little town and so friendly! Will def return!

I got a first floor room that was easy to access and parking was right in front of the hotel.
There is also a complimentary breakfast and coffee.
Room was super clean.

River Rock Lodge combines the ambience of a mountain cabin with modern amenities. The registration and lobby area is a great room with fireplace and comfy seating like a mountain lodge or château. The room décor is Native American from the photography on the walls to the wool comforter on the beds. The room itself is quite spacious with two comfortable queen beds, flat screen TV, wet bar with coffee maker, and spacious bathroom. We slept like logs. We missed breakfast since we had an early flight back home.

Not a bad place to stay if just needing a quick place to sleep.
First, the lobby is great but the rooms are extremely outdated. Everything needs a good update. From the alarm clocks and lamps, to the shower head and shower then has some valve control issues. Only a couple photos of Indians, and old furniture and carpet, smelled old and dusty as well. All the facets shot water out uncontrollably.
Second, the room is extremely dark. The only lighting is from lamps by the bed and near the closet and bar.
Third, there are some repairs in certain areas that didn’t seem to be some by a professional. While in the shower I looked up and could see some old water damaged from the room up stairs that they just threw some paste on, and painted over. Yikes.
Overall, it is a great location, and a place to sleep, and if they spent some money and did a a good remodel, they would have a 5 star gem, but not there yet.

What’s not to love about Big Sky, Montana? The beautiful mountains, not over developed… reminds me of my mother’s birthplace of Bavaria. This resort is beautiful. Love all the wood, and Montana rustic décor. It’s spotlessly clean (see photos of our room). «Michael» has been very helpful and accommodating. I’m writing this review from our room. We walked over to «Choppers» for some beer and a lite dinner and got a free beer for showing our room key. Michael is getting our hot tub ready, so we can relax and enjoy. Our room is very spacious, with great photos of Native American Indians and the blankets have that same motif. We love it here, and wish we could stay longer. We’re headed to Yellowstone tomorrow.

Wow! Ended up staying here here completely by happenstance and was thrilled to be rather impressed and very happy! The rooms are quiet and expansive, the front desk staff is so helpful, and the hotel has affiliations with several dining establishments and activities in the area. Got great recommendations on where to eat and what to do as well as just enjoyed time hanging out in the room. The rooms are big with comfy robes provided and large mini-​fridges and a nice desk/​table area.
Completely worth it and really happy to have stumbled upon the River Rock. Free wifi as well– woot!
