Jeff did an amazing job! We have a 17 month old boy and another TBD on October 20^th so it was important to baby proof the house. Jeff went through our entire home and showed us potential hazards we weren’t even aware of. The custom gate around the fire place and into our family room look amazing and our little guy doesn’t mind it at all. We also changed out 85 outlet covers that look 100% better than the plugs you put in. It may cost you more to hire this service but it’s well worth it and within a half a day your house will be complete. A+ and highly recommend Safe Beginnings. Thank you!

This business is a dream for parents! After driving ourselves crazy for a week chasing our toddler through 100 different death traps in our new house, we now have baby gates, window guards, cabinet latches, and more, and the whole thing took an impossibly quick 3 hours from start to finish.
We started with a walk-​through of the house, which I was expecting to be overblown and sales-​pitchy, but it was the opposite. Jeffrey is friendly and kind, and he is a true professional. He is passionate about safety (ask him why he started the business), and he knows what he’s doing.
We walked through and had a casual chat about where our toddler usually goes and what he need to keep him from getting into, and Jeff kept a running log of the work. He was not pushy in the slightest — we only got one cabinet latch, one outlet cover (theirs are far more innovative than the ones you typically buy, by the way) and two window guards, based on where our toddler would be and under what circumstances. He didn’t push us to babyproof every inch of the house or anything close to it. Then we minded our own business for a couple hours until he finished installing it, he showed us how it worked, and we wrote a check. Done!
I liked how flexible the process was to our needs. We needed an oven latch, so Jeff sort of built one; we have an outdoor area where our toddler needs to be protected from the stairs but it’s too big for a gate, so they made an appointment to get a mesh fence out of the pool fence materials.
If I was forced to give one area of room for improvement, I wish that they have a way to help babyproof cords and wires from TVs, etc. The prices were reasonable for top-​notch materials and professional installation (I’d say if you are babyproofing a whole house, budget at least $ 1000). Overall, A+++, truly a Godsend for parents looking to keep their children safe.

Safe Beginnings was recommended to us by Isis Parenting (also a terrific resource in Boston) following the birth of our first child. Safe Beginnings came to our home; assessed our needs; and recommended a range of measures for our consideration from basic to stringent. Though obviously — given their business and mission — they leaned towards stricter safety measures, it was our choice how protective we wished to go and they respected that. It was not cheap, but having someone come to our home with all necessary equipment (tools and material) for same-​day installation was well worth it. We outfitted our home — and a later temporary residence using Safe Beginnings — and our children have been safe since. It’s easy to take that safety for granted: who knows what calamities have been avoided due to Safe Beginnings’ measures.
But it was not that satisfaction which prompted this five-​star review (though it should have): what impressed me and triggered this review, a couple of years later, is that one of the small plastic parts installed by Safe Beginnings broke. I tried to glue it but failed. I took a photo and e-​mailed it to Safe Beginnings, asking them to please send me a replacement for that specific part along with a bill for any costs. Instead, I received — only a few days later — several whole replacement items (the entire small assemblies), with no bill at all.
Safety, professionalism and terrific customer service — that’s a combination meriting praise on Unilocal and elsewhere. Thank you, Safe Beginnings.
