Cost Plus World Market

Love love love this location.
I am a World Market – or what I like to call Cost Plus – connoisseur.
I’ve frequented World Market all over Colorado, California (OG locale – hence why I call it Cost Plus), New Mexico, Montana, Washington…
And this location is great. They have a good selection and variety and offer great stuff at great prices.
I come here for a lot of my international foods and furniture, home stuff and kitchen stuff.
I have experienced excellent customer service.
Recently I was looking for an olive oil container that I had previously purchased at another location, but somehow in a move lost it. I asked the cashier and since I was the only one in line – she took me to their little laptop, looked up the item, found it wasn’t in the store, saw they couldn’t order it, but directed me to login to my Explorer account, helped me do so (I was holding my 7month old baby), wrote down a coupon code, helped me figure out how to order the item – took us like 10 minutes and was super helpful, accommodating and cheerful.
Totally recommend this location. Have fun shopping!

Until yesterday I used to shop at this store at least once per month. To me, it was one of the only positive things about living in this very ethnically limited community, and I thought that the level of tolerance for all peoples was demonstrated at this store. Boy, was I WRONG. My Native American son was racially profiled by a store associate as a shoplifter, simply because of his looks and a long coat that he was wearing. The associate called the store manager down to the front of the store, where my son was looking at carpets and paintings that were on sale, for apparently no other reason other than his appearance. She had not seen him shoplift anything. The manager proceeded to YELL, yes, yell, at my son, asking if he was «ready to checkout.» Meaning that it was time for him to leave the store. I told the manager that my son was with me, and confronted the him on his inappropriate attitude toward my son, to no avail. He refused to apologize. I WILL NOT be back EVER to World Market. So, I would TOTALLY avoid this store unless you are white and affluent looking.

What terrible customer service! I came from Sheridan up to world market, looking to buy a chair. After searching for an employee I ask a girl to help me get a chair out that I would like to purchase. After 5 minutes or so she comes back and she says that it’s stuck behind a pallet. She called over to a guy and ask for help. the guy end up being the manager of the store. He told me that he was not going to get the chair out because it was behind other pellets that he would have to move. He kept telling us to go online and order it but we wanted it then. He also said «it will take me an hour and I’m not doing that on a Saturday afternoon»
I was very disappointed and will now consider taking my business elsewhere.
