After 4 years to the day I have deleted my bad review. I stand behind my one star but I will forgive them on the horrific episode that took place. Even I understand that could happen anywhere [highly unlikely] but I choose to forgive and forget. After reading several of the [not recommended] reviews I understand I’m not alone. A bit of advice to future customers, going here by yourself is not recommended as they don’t care for a 1 top. Now I know why they gave me dirty looks whenever I would eat here. I now drive to Laurel and eat at Mabel’s where they appreciate your business. That’s Mabel’s in Laurel Montana just 10 minutes from Billings, great authentic Mexican food.

Will unfortunately not return to this restaurant. The food did not arrive as we had ordered, and unfortunately when we send it back, it came back exactly the same. It was a mediocre and overpriced experience.

Food can be ok. Service is awful! Came in with a reservation at 6. Owner came up and said«just a minute.» Walked away and never came back to let us know what was going on. Left and will not be returning again. Good restaurants don’t operate this way. This just in… check out The Fieldhouse or Lilac if you want great food with great service.

Second time I have come for take out. I’d stay in it but I like to be comfy at home. The service first off is exactly what you would want when you walk into any place. This time I was welcomed with a smile by the server just like last time. Its busy tonight but I don’t even mind because its worth the wait. The food is right out of CA where I’m from which is basically mexico. If you want to splurge a little and enjoy your night get the seafood enchiladas.

This place is probably actually worth 4 stars, but I am giving them 5 stars to counter the overall average which is too low. The food is a bit spicy, but full of wonderful flavour… they also give attention to the details, no one ever seasons their rice and yet these guys do. The service was great, the food tasted straight out of southern california, and I enjoyed my time. I would only critique the price, which is only slightly over priced($ 14 dishes should probably be $ 10 – 11). That’s all.

BEST Mexican in Billings. The food is fresh and homemade, tastes nothing like a chain. I love everything I have had here.

I had a terrible experience here on Cinco de Mayo and I will not be back. I wanted a strawberry margarita and all the drinks they had were wine based and disgusting.

Great food, fresh ingredients, and nice & spicy. Love the jalapeño poppers and the Carne asada. Our first time there the service was awful, but it seems they’ve made changes because we’ve only had good experiences since then.

I ordered the C8 with pork. The tamale was great. The chicken enchiladas were OK. I prefer shredded chicken to cubed but still had a good taste. The refried beans tasted good but the rice was not so good. Great salsa. The waitress was nice to look at too. I will definitely come back.

Excellent food. I have been to Mexico many times. This is as good as it gets. I had the fajitas, recommended by the waitress. I changed the meat from pork strips to shredded. It was fantastic. I’m stuffed. Can’t wait to come back

Service sucked! Chimi was tasty but the waiter dropped it off with my beer(no glass) and never checked on me again! It’s 2:30 on a Saturday afternoon, not busy, just lazy or not trained.

Based on my one visit, I’d say this place is awesome. I had the carne asada, and the portions were enourmous, food very very flavorful. In my experience, carne asada is always cooked very well, but they made mine medium, and did a great job of it — not easy with those thinner cuts of meat, I know. Rice and beans were fantastic. Food is a little pricey for sure, but I thought the quality and portions were spot on. Only issue I had were that the corn tortillas were oily(?) — didn’t effect the flavor, but there were messy to handle. I would and will definitely go back to this place.

I’m always looking for a great Mexican restaurant as I travel, and this one was good. Reviews looked favorable so I thought I’d give it a shot. Great atmosphere, staff were friendly and very pleasing to the eye. I ordered a shredded beef chimi, with red sauce(should have gone with the green). Portions are very generous, but the rice and beans are extra bringing the cost of the chimi to over $ 15. Pretty spendy in my experience. Food was good. However the chimi was loaded with a variety of peppers instead of just meat. Beef was good and tender but nothing to write home about on the flavor side. Excellent chips and chunky salsa, but if you wanted more of each it was an extra charge. Overall, good food and nice place but wasn’t overwhelmed

The quality of the food is absolutely fantastic. Regardless of the iceberg lettuce at the beginning, everything seemed to be be quite good. I had the shrimp scampi that had very much a different twist on Mexican Cuisine. However, the spice and acidity proved to meet at the palette at the same time. All was good.

After a having a not so good experience at Old Chicago earlier in the day, we decided to have Mexican food for dinner. Don Luis it was, we were seated promptly after arriving. It was Saturday night so the place was pretty packed. I had been here a few times before and my experiences had been great. We placed our orders and shortly after, our food had arrived, I ordered the C-23, chicken fajita enchiladas and Lexi ordered C-13, 2 ground beef tacos and one chicken enchilada. My food was ok, the flavor was just right, my rice was a bit overly cooked and there were huge chunks of veggies in my enchiladas. Her food on the other hand was not, the ground beef was way beyond salty, her shredded chicken enchilada was bland, no flavor whatsoever. She let our server know and he offered to bring her something else or take it off of the bill in which he ended up doing as we had our fair share of bad meals for the day. Overall, the service was good, but I think I’ll pass on returning.

Was passing through on the road trip from MD to WA. After eating burgers/steaks for the last several days, it was time for something different. Saw the good reviews this place had so I decided to check it out. And let me tell you — if you enjoy spicy food, this place is for you. From the salsa you get to the entrée, the food here will set your mouth on FIRE! I ordered chimichanga’s and my entrée came with a side of rice and beans. Little did I know that the rice was over seasoned with pepper. And I mean to the point where they should change the description to say«black pepper with a hint of rice». And the price they charge to feed you lava? Ridiculous. Better find a Taco Bell, the food there would be better.

2 only cuz Jasmine was a nice waitress and the homemade salsa was good. Heavy on cilantro. Chips were bricks. But Aye Caramba«shrimp» burrito was gross. Shrimp were the baby salad shrimp. Perhaps caned and the fish odor was overwhelming. Also an imitation seafood shredded something was in there. Oh god it was bad. Just a handful of sautéed shrimp with butter and Mexican spices on Spanish rice, sautéed onions/peppers and enchilada style. Done! If they go the cheap route they will certainly lose return customers.
