Outstanding food and service. Had the Local Burger with a fried egg on top and my wife had the Bison hash. I found myself taking bites of her meal even though I was full. Atmosphere was great, staff was friendly, and the food was amazing. I will definitely be back. It’s about time the west end of Billings had a restaurant of this caliber.

The food is fantastic! The fried cauliflower is absolutely to die for, and the Poutine fries are excellent as well. I thoroughly enjoyed the Bison Hash, and am still wanting to go back for more of the peanut butter dessert that was so light, fluffy, and the perfect complement of flavors and textures!

Tonight was my 6th visit to Local — 4 times for dinner and twice for brunch. It’s my favorite for both. I was raised on lamb so I had to try the lamb shank. It is as outstanding as the presentation. My Armenian relatives would totally agree. Do save some room for dessert and just remember PEANUTBUTTER. There are two choices and you can’t go wrong with either one. The service has always been great. Make a reservation so you won’t be disappointed.

I want to give this place 4 stars, but it’s not deserving. The food is decent, but not great and the bar is pretty much non-existent. Yes, they have decent beer and wine, but a great restaurant needs a great bartender. I’ve been here twice and sat at the bar both times. I had the same waiter on both visits — I can’t complain about the service. The food though is just not quite there yet. It’s a little too bland and the entrée portions are underwhelming. If you’re going to skimp on the portions, your presentation and flavor better be through the f-Ing roof. Had the ravioli and poutine the first time and the bison hash and cheesecake tonight. If I had the poutine and cheesecake in one visit, this place gets 4 stars. However, entrees should be the stars, not the appetizers and desserts. Kosher salt needs a more prominent role in this restaurant. I give this place kudos for their concept, but they need to focus on one thing — entrée execution.

I went here with my husband without reservations. They had room for us at the bar and we were fine with that. The service was excellent, the food was among the best we’ve had in Billings. We had the mussels which were great, but my husband saw many of the buffalo cauliflower appetizers going by so we’ll try that next time. The cheesecake is made fresh daily — it was white chocolate flavor that day. I am not a cheesecake person but it was amazing. We had a great time and a delicious meal. Love that it’s all local.

I like this place. First, it is not a chain eatery. The food, in my opinion, is well prepared and prepared fresh. Plus, they have their own craft beer brewed just for them. The deserts are amazing. The place is a little new, so they are probably still working out the kinks, but I will support a local business any day and twice on Sundays over national chain restaurants. Want more? They pick one night a month as a charity night, and all the proceeds that night goes to a cause… nuff said.

Went here for my birthday and then again the next weekend! The buffalo cauliflower appetizer was so good we ordered another order! Dinner was great too. But the one reason I will come back again and again is their peanut butter dessert! I dreamed about it all week so we went back the next weekend. Even typing about that dessert makes me want to go again tonight! Lots of great things on the menu, but do NOT miss that dessert!

Amazing breakfast, good service, upbeat atmosphere! Had the weekend special, bell pepper and sausage scramble on a bed of hash browns covered with house made gravy. Simply, the best stack of flavors I have had for breakfast in Billings.

This place is awesome! We ordered the Staff Burger and the Braised Pork shoulder, let me tell you, we haven’t had food this good since we left Nashville! The place was a little smaller than we imagined which caused us wait about an hour-fifteen for a table. Momma always said never turn down a packed house, so we took mom’s advice and the hostess gave us coupons to chill at a bar across street. All in all, it was well worth the wait! The staff was friendly and helpful and the place wasn’t not too far from our hotel. My advice is to call ahead and make a reservation if waiting is not your style.

I really came here for the poutine fries. But had to order off the brunch menu. I settled for the Ranchero and was not overly impressed. Dry, under seasoned and nothing special. Needed salt, pepper, salsa, sour cream or something. Sat in the patio and nothing on the table. Service was a bit lacking and the beer was not cold either. I will give them one more try when they have the regular menu and see what happens. I may have just ordered the wrong thing? My son loves this place and maybe next time I go with him and let him buy. All I know the 25.00 dollars I spent left me thinking WHY?

What a treat! when you’re perusing the menu while sipping some wine… you will be distracted by all the yummy plates being served around you !!

While this is a very nice, small neighborhood restaurant in Billings, my experience with the food was just plain bad. First of all, they let someone take the table that was reserved for us. Luckily, they seated us at another table fairly quickly. I ordered the lamb shank. It comes with three large onion rings draped over the bone. Everything was cold! The onion rings were soggy and tasteless. No complaints about the service. Everyone was very nice and friendly. Bottom line is, however, you must serve good food to stay above the crowd! Not sure I would go back the next time I’m in Billings.

The food was overpriced and skimpy(I only received 5 raviolis) for $ 17. There was no bread, salad or soup offered. The hostess was very rude and told us we should of had a reservation and she would check to seat us. We were seated and the tables never did fill up. Very disappointed from the moment we walked in.

Came in at six after seeing this place on Unilocal, was told it would be about 20 minutes. After being handed drink menus, we asked if they were trying to seat us at the bar and were told they were. We said we’d want a table(I have short legs and sitting on a bar stool for a meal is just unnecessary torture.) and were told that a table wouldn’t be available until 9pm. No one mentioned reservations or offered any apologies, while there were two empty four tops and another about to empty. We found somewhere else to eat. Food smelled good, place is cute, but staff seemed clueless and disinterested. We won’t bother trying again next time we’re in town.

We came here thinking we made reservation, but there more than one. But the staff was able to still fit us in(party of 7). The food was delicious I had the French toast with strawberries and the mimosa special was brilliant it had cider and cinnamon. Nice cozy atmosphere, a little pricey but i will be going back. The staff was super friendly and very attentive.

I really, really, really wanted to love this place. I ended up just kind of liking it. First off, it’s darling. I think the concept is a great addition to the west end of Billings. It’s small, so requires reservations. I assumed that the limited amount of tables would equal great, prompt service… not so much. We arrived for our reservation and had to wait 10 minutes for our table — no big deal. We grabbed beers while we waited. Once we were seated is when it got weird… all the servers kept walking past us. No eye contact, nothing. It was to the point of being awkward, considering how small the place is! Finally, we were helped — by the same person that seated us. The menu is fairly limited, but the items we got were really good(bison hash and lamb shank). The service was just okay, but certainly not good enough to reflect Local’s prices! We will go back to try their weekend brunch — fingers crossed for a better experience!

First visit last night. We had the crab cakes as an appetizer and were very tasty. I lived in Baltimore for three years and these are very comparable. Lamb shank and pumpkin ravioli for our entrees. They were also delicious. Service was excellent as well. We’d go back for sure. Only suggestion would be to dim the lights a bit. Very bright and takes away from what could be a unique ambiance.

Brand new place opened a few months ago. Moved into the old Zpizza location. Mostly New American dishes. Had the New York strip with mashed potatoes. Good flavors overall. Steak was cooked well done rather than medium rare which isn’t unforgivable-but memorable given their high end pricing. Service was great overall. I won’t write them off based on one experience, since I’m sure they are in the process of figuring it out. It’s a cool place and I’d recommend it for sure.

This restaurant is a great addition to Billings and located in a spot that was desperate for a restaurant of its nature. The atmosphere is upscale casual and the patio with the hanging raw light bulbs and heaters make it for a cozy experience. The staff was very helpful and knowledgable, full of suggestions. The food was flavorful, creative and came out quickly but there is something to be desired in the portion of food to price ratio. Local bar and kitchen will definitely be a destination restaurant. Strongly recommended.
