Don’t waste your money! Overpriced, bad food and terrible service with a bad attitude. What else can I say!?!

I was excited to see an Indian restaurant in downtown billings so I checked it out. Unfortunately I was very underwhelmed with the food. I ordered the lamb curry and the meat was tough and fatty and the sauce was soupy. The cheese naan was the only thing worth eating. I hate to be too critical of an Indian restaurant in mt but this one leaves a lot to be desired.

Go every time we visit Billings! Though we are about 120 miles away, we are here every time we pass through town. Servers and owners are very gracious, you are able to order a la carte or from a small but excellent buffet.

I am an Indian. Trust me this not Indian. I do not expect the same standard in US, specially in Billings. But the owner needs to take a trip to India ASAP. I do not give 1 Star so 2 stars. Parking problem in downtown

This place is great! Lots of amazing vegetarian options to choose from from the basics and more. I wish there were more Indian restaurants across Montana but if you are in Billings, definitely stop by.

I’ve eaten here 4 times now and when they are on their game its a wonderful experience in new tastes and flavors. When they are off. it’s really not very good. I wish they could control their product a little better since we definitely need more variety and interesting choices here in Billings.

The flavor is ok. The bathroom was the foulest public rest room I have seen in years. The sit down toilet had t.p. and crap dried and crusted with dried poopie t.p. The urinal was disgustingly dirty. The soap dispenser(with sign above saying employees must wash hands…) was totally empty. My wife said the Women’s soap dispenser was also totally empty. Been there twice, won’t be going back.

This place is probably as good as you will find in Billings. Our server was very nice and helpful and very tolerating of the children and baby we had. She even refused to let me clean up the floor after all the food our baby threw all over it. The dishes and naan that we tried were all great and were better than any Indian food in the last city I lived in. My only gripe would be the Belly dancers they think will bring them more business… We already had a different place picked out to go in case they were«performing» that night… Not family friendly

My coworkers and I plan our work road trips around mealtime in Billings and always stop in at Taste of India. We always order extra so we have leftovers to bring into the food desert that is Eastern Montana ;-) I’ve had at least a dozen different dishes here, and they have all been winners. Some of my favorites include the kormas, vindaloos, and the eggplant dish. The naan variety basket is also a winner, especially the sweet naan, with small bits of nuts and dried fruit. It’s great to go in a group so you can share! My only complaint is that it seems a bit pricey for what you get, especially the meat dishes which seem to have very little meat and are heavy on sauce. But every bite is delicious and this is our only Indian restaurant in MT, so I am a happy camper overall!

Outstanding Indian food! A group of us ordered a variety of dishes and all were superb… as was the naan. A surprise to find such a place in Montana! Good service too.

Great food. I have been to numerous Indian joints and this one is in the top five. Highly recommended. You can look at the menu on their website

I love Indian food. Love it. I used to drive to Missoula back in the day to get food at Tipu’s since it was the closest Indian restaurant. I really want this place to thrive. It think it is so critical for the Billings dining scene. I’ve been there twice and had the channa masala both times. It was actually quite good and everyone at the table agreed that it was the best dish. The samosas and naan are ok, but not outstanding. Some of the chutneys are good. Their restaurant space is odd and service seems a bit inconsistent. I really hope they can keep on trucking and work out the kinks. I look forward to going back the next time I’m in Billings.

On a recent trip to Billings my hubby and I decided to check this place out since it was in the neighborhood of our hotel and we had a jonesin for some good ethnic food. I wanted to sit outside on their cute patio but I’m glad we didn’t end up out there because it began to pour. Due to the inclement weather we were forced inside and were entertained by some interesting belly dance routines. The women performing were did not have the usual belly dancer physique but at least they were having a good time doing it. We shared the Ghost Lamb and the Chicken Korma which were both delicious and could have easily fed 3 people. We ordered the Aloo Paratha(whole wheat bread with potatoes and herbs) and a plain naan, even though they tasted good they were a little too greasy for our taste. They brought plenty of rice and even brought us some spicy sauce to add to the lamb when we realized we liked a little more flavor. This place is good because it is a little different than most other places in the area and they had a good vibe about the place.

Oh nooooo — I really wanted to love this place, but for some reason the flavoring was off on everything we ordered, except the samosas(but it’s hard to eff up a fried appetizer, anyway). We were the only people there around 7 on a Monday. Maybe opening night for baseball had something to do with it. Plus the fact that there was call for storms again after the tornado hit in town just the night before. At any rate, we were the lone diners for a while until another couple showed up about 45 minutes later. Staff is very friendly — the owner came out to shoot the breeze with us. He said they get good biz at lunchtime with the buffet. They just opened in April and are hoping to build up the biz. Anyhow — the food. Maybe my palate was off for the night, but nothing tasted as good as I’ve had at other Indian joints. The mango lassi was overly sweet. The cheese in the mutter paneer was too firm. The naan was dense — not light and fluffy as I usually enjoy it. I think we got the veggie korma, too — nothing to write home about. And the rice wasn’t as saffrony as expected — tasted a bit too American. Oh well — I’ll give ‘em another try sometime and hopefully have a good update.

After we moved away from Denver in 1990, we lamented being unable to get good Indian food in the Twin Cities. Then we moved to Billings in 1999 and things got even worse in the area of ethnic food. But, this year we discovered a true gem, Taste of India, that serves Indian food that is as good as we’re ever had in places like Denver, Victoria, BC and Vancouver, BC. My wife and I have been there twice and ordered different things each time. Every one of them has been superb. It seems we always order too much thinking we’ll take some home but there’s never any left and we are stuffed when we leave. This has become one of our favorite restaurants in Billings, along with Café DeCamp, Café Italia and Ciao Mambo. They haven’t been in business too long and we really hope they make a go of it because the food is excellent. The interior is quite basic, but the food more than makes up for the lack of atmosphere.
