This is the worst place I have seen it ever many of the market merchandise is expired since 2013. Don’t go there

I like this place a lot because they have authentic food(I’m Middle Eastern), and an adjacent little market connected to it where I can get ingredients for my Arabic dishes that I can’t find anywhere else here; they also sell hookah tobacco. They have a good selection of appetizers, sandwiches/wraps, and entrees. I believe the chef is Lebanese. The owner of this place is Tunisian I think, and also owns Hookah Up(hookah lounge in Biloxi off Beauvoir Rd).

The boyfriend was wanting to try something different so we drive down Pass Rd in that dreaded search for something appealing and that we could both agree on lol. He pulled into the parking lot(which also serves the little grocery store adjacent to the restaurant) and there was not a car in sight.(I really wanted him to keep driving!) Now to be fair it was Thanksgiving Eve but there were crowds at some of the other places we drove by. We went in and were told to be seated anywhere we like. I made a joke about it being slow and the waitress said she hadn’t had a table all day(since 1pm, it was around 8?) I hate going into dead restaurants sooooooo much but I have to keep my mouth shut once in a while– my boyfriend is very supportive of my chronic Unilocaling but I felt the need to be flexible tonight. I had some idea of what to order because there is an amazing place in Denver I used to go to all the time. I ordered the Combo Plate and Rick ordered the Lebanese Kebbeh. I didn’t get pictures because the phone battery died :( The food wasn’t bad but my Gyro was VERY seasoned and salty. Thank goodness there is no salt or pepper on the table because I am a salt kinda girl and I may have added more by accident. The Chicken Shawarma had good flavor but was really dry and I’m not sure if it’s supposed to be dry like reheated chicken tends to do but I used the mayo like sauce(I always skip the majority of sauces) but Now Ricks plate looked awful. Ugg I took a bite and no way Jose– not good. He ate it and I said it was good but I don’t believe him. I had a bite and didn’t say anything because he just paid $ 13 for those three meatballs. I gave him some of mine. His looked like 3 old meatballs eeww… I read the reviews and I guess this cuisine just needs to be your thing– it sure isn’t mine and I would never return. Oh and we checked out the store and that just felt like stuff that had been on the shelf for a veryyyyy long time. I’m including the menu pics I took before the phone keeled :) 2 stars because the girl was nice and I wasn’t hungry when I left.

I’ve been looking for good Middle Eastern food since moving down here a couple of years ago, finally found it at Sophi’s. It’s a little out of my over there in Biloxi; when I get into that neighborhood, I’m usually there for another restaurant I already know, and I keep forgetting about Sophi’s. Now that I’ve been there, I won’t forget again. One half of the place is a grocery, the other half restaurant. The restaurant itself is a very casual booth and tables affair, so don’t come for the atmosphere. The food is delicious and not too expensive. We started off with the hummus and the feta and olives. The hummus came traditionally with olive oil poured on top(not too much) and pita(the flatter style, not the thick Greek style). It was fresh and tasty, definitely hit the spot. The feta and olives had feta. And olives. Imagine that. Also quite good. I went for the kebbeh(kibe, kidbeh, it’s spelled all kinds of ways in different places, but it’s the same thing) with couscous. The kebbeh was aromatic and well-balanced, unlike some I’ve had in poorer restaurants. It’s always a disappointment when one spice it so strong it drowns everything else out, just as it’s a lovely surprise when everything blends nicely in complementary balance. The couscous was couscous. A good side, nothing to holler about. My wife had the gyro. I only managed a single bit of that, but it was equally good, and my wife enjoyed it. I know they make their kebbeh in house(they told me so), but I imagine, like most people, they buy in the gyro meat. I don’t blame them for that, and there’s very good(and very bad) gyro meat to be had. These guys buy the good stuff. Again, it’s that balance thing. It doesn’t wind up tasting like someone rolled some meat in a big pile of oregano. It’s a bit of a shame it’s so out of our way, or we’d be eating here regularly. I noticed on the way out they had koftah on special. Damn. I love good koftah. I’ll have to time the next trip to coincide with the next koftah special. If I had my druthers, I wish they’d expand the menu a bit. Tabouli, lamb kebabs, beef shawarma, that sort of thing. I’d probably be drawn to the place more often with more of those classics on the menu. But what I’ve had so far is darned good.

Satisfied my craving for baba ganoush and falafel! Falafel was okay but it fell apart easily. I also wish they cooked it more like I am used to having it as if its almost burnt hard and crispy ;) My husband had their chicken shawarma but felt like it lacked in sauce and authenticity. We enjoyed the food but it somehow lacked the ‘homemade’ factor. Interior seems outdated too but our area was clean. Service was good! She was nice and attentive, always checking up on how we were doing. Next time I’ll check on the market just across the dining room.

Ate at this place for the first time on Friday on the recommendation of a Yoga instructor. Drove 40 miles. Was it worth it. fantastic everything. Wonderful service where the Gulf Coast will the chef bring the food to your table herself hot fresh and delicious. We tried basically everything all combination platters it was unbelievable food. Moroccan tea was the best we have ever had including Morocco. I would recommend this even the most discriminating dinner. Take a bunch of people try everything. This is 5 star food in a 1 star setting. This is the place, I want all the money going into my food not the tablecloths. For me it will be a regular once a week trip.

Was ok. Strange that there were no salt or pepper on the table. The one or her thing was no ketchup either. The fries came with packets, no bottles. The food was decent, what little there was. Also, use your napkin sparingly, you only get one :) 1

Love that this place is gluten free friendly! I ordered the spicy carrot dip with corn tortillas which was good, not quite spicy though. Loved loved the falafel sandwich with tzaziki sauce! Amazing! They make all sandwiches on corn tortillas instead of pita bread to accommodate those with gluten issues. It was very tasty but I would have given 5 stars had it been a gluten free pita.

We’ve been here a few times and the first few times it was better than the last. When we had gone initially, our food came with a small cup of sauce, but when we returned, the cups were thimble sized. We buy products from the market inside quite often as well and we’ve noticed that a few are expired on the shelf. We haven’t been back since July, but we will give it another shot. We want to see them do well!

My brother-in-law recommended this place. He is an investigator for law enforcement so he knows what he is talking about. No really. He has good taste and likes comfortable places and great food. That’s what Sophie’s is. Don’t go here on a first date or with a new client unless they don’t care about ambience. Take them here if they like authentic Mediterranean. There bar is void sporting empty shelves though they had beer and wine. No Ouzo. Furniture looks like it came from a second hand shop. But that’s all ok with me! Sophie’s menu is small but varies from greek to lebanese. Gyros to shawarma. Taboulle to cous –cous. All delicious and fresh. The tzatziki was the best I ever had. Fresh mint. The chicken shawarma was succulent and perfectly seasoned. Love cardamom and cinnamon. Why they have to ruin it with nasty garlic mayonnaise(traditional) I have no clue. The food presentation is lacking but like I said. .it’s good! One odd thing… no two. First there were not salt an pepper shakers anywhere to be seen. Second and more importantly, pita was not served or offered with my combination plate of shawarma and gyro. I asked the girl«Hey! Where’s my bread? Was I supposed to get pita or something??» She politely said«No Sir, bread is not offered with your selection. Would you like to order some?» I was charged a buck. I think that’s odd. Maybe even half a taboon bread? Will definitely visit again. Hope they read this.

Never sat down to enjoy the atmosphere here, but I’ve taken to go orders home on three different occasions. Very good food in a very good price range. I’ll definitely buy from here again.

We found this place on Unilocal! What a find! Great food and the Tea was awesome! It’s small and the menus is limited(in a good way, they are not trying to over do it) The food was excellent. The other offerings in the area are good but if you want good food at a fair price you found it.

The atmosphere was ok. The food was a strong 8 out of 10 and the service was good. However, the bathroom was dirty and it was only 11 or so in the morning. They charge for every soft drink, so no free refills.

One of my favorite little restaurants to visit on my off day. The food is always good and I always enjoy myself there usually with friends. They offer a wide range of hookah flavors, which is a definite plus for me. The owners also own Hookah Up Café in Biloxi. Both places are definitely worth visiting. Close to the Air Force base as well.
