Great sandwiches, soup, everything for a quality quick bite with little monotony. The chef is excellent and willing to try new quality foods.

Delightful little place. Very pleasant staff. I had the Binh Mi sandwich and homemade fresh French fries. Very fresh ingredients. Vegetarian options, meat eater options. Great desserts. It’s hidden in a residential neighborhood near Binghamton Central High School. Go, you won’t be disappointed.

after my first try i’m going to give this place a 3. i went for restaurant week and tried the voodoo chicken sandwich, which was a very good sandwich that i suggest you try. i also got the fries. the seasoning on the fries was really good, and while they were cooked alright, i feel like they could have been cooked a little longer, the insides could have been more tender. the mac n cheese was really bland, there was no flavor at all. the brownie i got for dessert was good but nothing out of the ordinary, it seemed like it was just from a boxed mix. the tap water here is also not very good, not even a slice of lemon can mask its flavor. the service was good and the people here were very friendly and the place itself was nice, but it was on the small side. i’ve known about this place for a couple years now but always overlooked it for some reason, and while i do see myself going back here sometime, i’m not really in any rush to go back anytime soon.

Stopped by again in June 2014 after a long hiatus, there seems to be much improvement since my last visit, although still nothing to write home about. Good to note: these guys serve good breakfast. If you’re going with a breakfast sandwich, might I recommend getting it on their nice bread and not a bagel. The bagel might disappoint a bagel-lover, their bread is tasty.

great spot for grabbing a healthful sandwich or HUMONGO salad… yes, it’s a little pricey for the area but their ingredients really are top notch. I had the cuban sandwich and i thought it was delicious… the sandwich came with a side of tortilla chips with this insanely tasty powder on top. I asked the lady at the register what it was and she said it was a secret concoction. i wish they sold it! i’m in the area and think this place is a great food option. glad to have it so close by!

Café West 46 has become my go-to spot for a quick lunch. I’d visit less frequently if I didn’t live within walking distance, but I’d still make the effort occasionally. I’ve sampled several menu items, some better than others. The Cure wrap is delicious and filling, and the Text Mex salad is healthy and flavorful, with corn, black beans, roasted red peppers, and more. For some extra protein(and $ 2), you can add chicken. The cran-apple spinach salad is incredibly yummy, and the goat cheese on it is excellent. My favorite sandwich is the black & bleu. Unfortunately, it also seems to be everyone else’s favorite, and the café often runs out of roast beef. This is verrrrry disappointing when I’ve got a specific craving. The French onion soup isn’t great, unfortunately. Service here is low-key. Order at the counter, sit down, they run your food to your table. During peak hours, it can take up to 25 min., but off-peak, more like 10. The weekend before the spring semester started, I waited about 45 minutes and they were out of two or three items. If you’re operating in a college neighborhood, you’ve got to be aware of the semester schedule. If you’re nearby during a slower time of day, I’d recommend trying this place out. Overall, I like it. If they worked out the kinks, I’d give it for four stars.

This is the cutest neighborhood café. It also has healthy choices and fresh ingredients. I had the Venetian vegetarian which was so delicious. The price is kind of steep(~$ 8) but, I think it is because the cost of fresh good is rising.

Returned for restaurant week in April 2014 and had another great experience. The garden of vegan is still just as amazing, as are the café chips! I had the California turkey sandwich which was really tasty. The brownie for dessert was flawless. The back room is so cute. I had no idea it existed! The place was packed so get there early if you go during RW.

I really like this place. Soups, salads and sandwiches done well. The banh mi, while not authentic, is still tasty. The voodoo chick, garden of vegan and thecure are all solid options. My only complaint is that I often wait 20 minutes, sometimes even when calling ahead, for a sandwich. However I keep coming back and was placated with a free red velvet cupcake for having to wait once. So at least they recognized it.

Great lunch today. Had one of the specials: cran walnut chicken salad wrap, delicious! Service was fast and friendly. Perfect for lunchtime.

Skip it and go the nearby Cyber Café West where the food and service are much better. Only been here once but the ambience sucks and multiple things that were supposed to be on the salad I ordered were subbed out without comment because their inventory was screwed up.

I discovered this place as I was leaving Binghamton. Such a gem hidden in a residential area. I love the sandwiches. Ingredients are fresh. Very friendly staff… Get busy during lunch when I was there. California club is very good!!! Yummy!!!

Exactly what I’d want in a neighborhood café. It’s literally situated in the neighborhood(surrounded by houses and all), it’s small and the menu is fresh. The menu isn’t extensive and includes your standard soup, salad and sandwich, but the offerings are fresh and more creative than your typical deli. After having the Garden of Vegan, which was fantastic, I brought my friends in to further deliberate on the options that I couldn’t eat. They reported that the voodoo chicken sandwich and the California turkey club were very good. The sandwiches come with chips or fries for an extra $ 1; usually I’d choose fries, but the chips are seasoned with a little something different that simply won me over. To round out the fresh and healthy options, salads are fresh and I also really loved the blueberry iced tea. If you follow them on Facebook, they announce some unique specials, which are tasty little experiments that the guys try out every once in a while. Finally, students get 10% off if you show your ID! I’m really sad I discovered this place too late in my final year at Binghamton, because I would definitely have loved to come here more.

Let me preface this review by apologizing for being the Debbie Downer of this group. That being said, I visited this place right after they first opened. I don’t remember what I got, but remember hating the consistency of the chicken in my sandwich so much that I vowed that I would rather give my first born up for adoption than visit this place again. Unfortunately for me, I was dragged back here. The optimist in me went in with clear eyes, looking for a more positive experience. Like always, the optimist in me was an idiot. I ordered the soup of the day, which was some sort of Southwestern Chicken concoction. I would be lying if I said it was horrible. I would also be lying if I said that the soup didn’t taste like regular chicken soup doused in taco seasoning. In addition, I got a side salad with white balsamic dressing. I wasn’t crazy about the dressing, but I won’t hold that against the café, as it was my first time trying it. All in all, if every other eating establishment in the world was destroyed in a nuclear, I would probably frequent this establishment. In the case that this scenario doesn’t play out, I will cotinue to frequent the establishements that are special to me. Nothing about this place is special.

I kind of wished this place ended up being a bakery. That’s kind of what I was hoping for: a new bakery taking the place of an abandoned bakery. Alas, it’s another sandwich shop. In my mind, just another. Personally, you’d be better off getting a hearty sandwich at some place like Cyber Café West or better yet, Old World Deli. When I went, I ordered the«Black & Bleu» on a baguette. Guess what? Not on a baguette, not even close. Not that I’m a baguette Nazi, but if it’s not a baguette then just say it’s a sausage roll and I’m okay with it. And using the term«Shaved Creole steak» is kind of a loose interpretation of what I received. It wasn’t shaved in the deli sense where you’re thinking it’s falling apart in your fingers, that kind of shaved. It was more of a thick-ish slice. And finally, the«Creole» part is what gets me most. If you sprinkle Tony Chachere’s on your steak and call it creole, I call you offensive. Now, it looks like most of you like this place, but I think you’d be better off sticking with Cyber Café West or Old World at least until Café West 46 figures out what it wants to be when it grows up.

I’ve stopped by this neighborhood sandwich shop twice now. Love the quiet atmosphere of the residential neighborhood. Most recently, my guy and I enjoyed the Cali turkey club and the Garden of Vegan sandwiches. Both were prepared freshly and quickly. The food is great, with creative toppings, spreads, and dressings that take a sandwich a level up from what you’d find in other local eateries. We also shared a house-made raspberry iced tea, with just the natural sweetness of real raspberries. Tasty! The manager was super friendly, and the service quick. We’ll definitely keep this on our weekend lunch list. There’s also a room in back if you have a larger group or meeting. Menu is on their FB page:

I was out for a walk a couple of weeks ago and saw that the old Wagner’s Bakery space has been repurposed as Café West 46. Taking an abandoned building off the street is worth one star itself, in my opinion. It’s a bistro-y soup and sandwich kind of place — hardwood floor, earth tones, cool pictures on the walls, that sort of thing. And the food is really good, too. My wife had the Black and Bleu and I had the Banh Mi. We both liked them very much. Great service, too. While we were there, a Christmas lunch party was going on in the back room. Definitely worth a look. We’ll be back.

I’m so glad this place exists!!! Finally somewhere to get GOOD food to go outside of cyber café or java joes! That being said, the food here is similar. Not quite as vast an array of choices as Cyber Café, but everything has fresh ingredients, and is made with care. I don’t make sandwiches like this for myself, so i’m glad that for 7 bucks there’s a place that can make them for me when I visit good olé Bing. The space is pretty open, and there seemed to be more seating in the back — in case you like to grab sandwiches with 10 of your closest friends? The girl that took my order was super nice, brought over the food when it was ready, and even came over to ask how it was. I ended up getting an extra sandwich and a cup of cheddar broccoli soup just because the vegetarian sandwich i was already eating was so bangin’. They really make good use of sauces and spreads and when yr sandwiches consist of just cheese and veggies, you need someone that understands the fine distinction of a cheese sandwich and an omg that olive tapenade compliments everything else perfectly and wait, what– i thought I hated olives. Also, the chips on the side ever so slightly dusted with paprika or chipotle seasoning or something equally delicious. i love it here; talked about the sandwiches I had non-stop for the subsequent 48 hours. and also 4 days later.
