Commendably good mushroom soup today. My first visit ever. I will go back. Mostly sandwiches/wraps on the menu, but a broad enough selection to satisfy anyone’s taste for lunch.

I brought my sister from PA to go to Nikos Diner but unfortunately to my surprise it had closed after 30 years. We Saw this bar n grill when we passed so we decided to give it a shot although we were skeptical at first. We were greeted upon entering and told we could have a seat at the bar or in the dining area. We seated ourselves and after a few minutes the waitress came out and took our drink order. She was polite. When she came to take our order my sister told her that we wanted the mixed sampler. Before we could place our other food orders the girl took off and said she would get that in for us. We were kind of taken back because we thought we were going to place the whole order. I guess this was just a misunderstanding. When we got our appetizers they were a good mixture of onion rings, mozzarella sticks, chicken fingers, jalapeño poppers and fries. The only thing we didn’t realize though was that we had ordered fries and onion rings as our sides with our burgers so when we got the platter it was another confusing moment. There was only 3 choices for sides with our main food and that was onion rings, fries and tator tots. If we knew this we probably wouldn’t have got the mixed sampler because it had more fries and onion rings than anything else. They were very good though. The menu did not specify what came in the sampler. Upon receiving our house burgers we were amazed at the size of them. My burger was done as requested my only suggestion would be to add some mayonnaise to it or at least make it an option on the side. It did not have any kind of sauce on it and was kind of plain flavored besides the lettuce, tomato, cheese and bacon I got on mine. My sister felt the same way about hers. Over all our lunch was good and the service was also friendly.

I would have given this place 4 stars but the service could have been better. I decided to check this restaurant out because of restaurant week and although the place is not what I expected it to be the food was good. The place is mostly a bar and its a whole in the wall kind of place but their food was tasty. I had their Cuban sandwich with a pasta salad and it was one of the best Cubans I’ve ever eaten. They could have used less dressing on the salad but it was edible. Their cheesecake dessert was obviously not made there and tasted like it came out of a box but I didn’t expect them to make their own dessert. The waitress was extremely friendly but forgot to heat my soup and was a little forgetful. However, it was ok since she was friendly. I’d give this place a try if your looking for a laid back place to eat.

The food was pretty good: no complaints, although the pasta was not indicated as having any meat in it and arrived with meatballs and bacon bits. My friend, a vegetarian, didn’t expect that and could barely eat her meal. She could have ordered something else I guess but we had already waited nearly 45 minutes for our food and didn’t have time. The place was practically empty but the service was so slow. Everyone was perfectly nice but the food would have to be a lot better to make up for such awful service.

it’s been a while since this place has been reviewed, so i’ll start by saying that their current location is on Upper Court Street next to Niko’s Diner. the bar itself is pretty nice on the inside, and the staff has always been pretty friendly to me. as for the crowd i’ve met some pretty nice people there before, but i’ve also overheard people making condescending remarks about me. oh well. the prices are good, as is the food. the first 2 times i ate there i got burgers and i ordered them medium well and they were cooked perfectly. i’ve ordered burgers twice after that and they were a bit more dried out, which was a bummer. The fries they serve with the burgers though are very good. other than that i’ve had the chicken tenders and they were good, and i’ve also had the wings. the buffalo sauce was good but in my opinion i’d like them a bit crispier. definitely worth a visit.

This place is(now) right in the middle of downtown where a McDonalds used to be. The layout is a little awkward, but there is lot of space for just about anything you would want to see/do in a bar. When I lived in Bing(2007 – 2010), there was trivia once a week with winners getting free drinks or money to spend at the bar. The food was always much better than would be expected based on the looks of the place. Make sure you try the bruschetta wrap and the onion rings. They also host holiday parties and things like beer pong tournaments. They were hosting darts and pool leagues when I lived there as well. The Roxx was also a great place to be for Binghamton’s Parade Day.

On The Roxx has been the home of many a girl’s night out with my friends. Friday night karaōke is always entertaining, and there are generally good drink specials. It’s worth stopping in and seeing what the crowd is like if you’re in the area.
