My husband and I stopped into Sake-Tumi for a quick lunch break from a 10 hour drive; it was fantastic! We were served by the mother of the owner who was wonderfully honest about our order — she gave descriptions about the spice level of the rolls we chose, as well as the quantity off food(the rolls are big, but we were hungry…). Every bite was delicious! We ordered a speciality roll(Godzilla?) that contained pieces of jalapeño pepper which added a crunch to an otherwise soft roll — very different, but very good! All together we had four rolls(two specialty and two maki) and we were pleasantly full by the end of our meal. The atmosphere is quite romantic with dark colours and hints of red all around the restaurant. I noticed a special on Tuesday nights — $ 1 sushi — so be sure to check out that deal. If ever I find myself driving to DC again, I know where i’m stopping for lunch!

This place is pretty decent but has some issues that keep it from really being great. The sushi is really good — nice variety, very fresh, and the dollar sushi nights are a great idea. The downside of this place is the décor and ambience. The place just feels kind of grubby and cheap and in need of an overhaul. There’s such potential being a cool place downtown but the furniture all felt cheap, the tables were wobbly, the menus were dirty, it needs a fresh coat of paint, etc. So while the food is good, I think this place could be so much better if they stepped up their ambience game. Sushi is crisp clean and refreshing and this place is starting to feel like a dive. Service was decent, I was there with a group on a $ 1 sushi night and our waitress did a pretty good job, minus keeping up with water refills.

On my last night and my friends birthday night, we went to get sushi at this local spot. She had wanted to have tofu nachos, which was on the restaurant week menu, but not on the current menu. Nevertheless, they made them for her because they had all the ingredients. I ordered a vegetable tempura appetizer, and our other friend got a Miso Soup to start with. The tempura appetizer was HUGE! For $ 5, I got around 7 – 9 pieces of tempura, most of which were very big. Great price and taste. Instead of tempura dipping sauce, there was spicy Thai chili instead. I also ordered a Veggie Futo Maki Roll, which I thought came wrapped in cucumber, but it was rice wrapped. My friend ordered a summer roll, and our other friend got a California Roll. She even got a little candle in the middle, which was very sweet of them! It looked great, but I had to take my roll to go, since I had a bus to catch. Would come here if in the area, good food, good prices.

Stopped in after taking my son to his Binghamton university orientation. Pleasantly surprised they had the delicious Momokawa organic nigori sake. And the fish tacos were very nice!

When I searched online I didn’t find many vegan options in Binghamton. Sushi always offers a small selection so Sake Tumi didn’t disappoint. They had a veggie section of the menu with enough options for me to feel like I had choices. Thanks! I wish the dollar special menu(Tuesday and Thursday) had more veg options, but its a great deal for fish eaters. Staff was very nice. Be aware thw spring rolls have pork in them. Overall, good time, I’d go back :) If I could give fractional stars, I would give closee to 4!

came for the«$ 1 special»… umm the rolls are tiny and, when you do the math, some pieces are more expensive than just ordering the roll on a regular night. service was a mess too– forgotten dishes, few water refills.

Honestly, this place is probably one of the classiest places when it comes to dining in Binghamton(second to probably Double-Tree Hotel Restaurant(River Bistro) and more similarly Lost Dog Lounge). There are $ 1 sushi nights Tuesday/Thursday, but if you’re like me and would prefer an actual sit-down meal, I would absolutely recommend the Cashew Chicken(Half portion for around $ 9). The sauce is amazing! It is a bit spicy/hot so just a word of caution. I usually get this meal and the house red wine and it’s super quick, delicious, and filling. My friends love the sushi there and always order on $ 1 nights. I have gone for dinner and lunch and both experiences were very pleasant. Lunch is quiet, less packed, but we were welcomed by what I assume would be the manager who took our order herself and to the businessmen sitting at the table next to us. You can also get the Sushi boat(which I didn’t get, but our neighboring diners did), which has a ton of variety and by the discussions I overhead, was very enjoyable as well. Takeaway: Great classy dining experience for the sushi and non-sushi lovers alike. Friendly staff, tasty food, good prices.

Ok first off I’m just gonna say I didn’t come here based on past reviews, I actually went off the word of a friend about the $ 1 sushi and sake shots. I did check out the reviews but to be quite honest this place is drastically underrated! If you don’t believe me come taste for yourself. When it comes to sushi a lot of factors come into play, freshness of the fish, the rice has to be cooked properly and of course it should be plated to appease the eyes. They have earned a big check in each box! And the wait staff well lol… very beautiful ;) overall if you are looking for a great tues or thurs night or just amazing sushi in general this is most certainly a diamond in the rough two thumbs wayyyy up!

Went there Sat night, it was good but our service was very weak as we had a Ruskie waiter who couldn’t understand English well. I thought the sushi was ok, but nothing to write home about. Wegmans is just as good.

How do you top off a 1-dollar sushi night? Have a server like James!!! This place has mixed reviews for service… but my boyfriend and I had a flawless experience. James was attentive, funny, and all around awesome. Food was great too!

There is only really one thing that matters at a(mostly) sushi restaurant, and it is the head chef. His name is Floyd. He buys the fish. He preps the fish. He prepares your selections. And he is proud and passionate about his decades-practiced trade. This is the real deal, from the broadest selection in town, to the attention payed to the nori and the rice; and this is coming from an avowed sashimi freak. Head and shoulders above all other area sushi restaurants, save one that is a stong second. This is one that stands up to the finest I’ve had on both coasts. I feel like a dolt for not trying this place sooner.

Can’t beat $ 1 sushi night. Service can be slow, but the sushi is great! I wouldn’t go unless its Tuesday/Thursday, because the rolls are overpriced. Also: the egg roll cheesecake is the perfect dessert!

I enjoyed it! Service: I had no problems, everything went smoothly. There was only about 4 other tables filled so service was very attentive! Food: I do not eat sushi regularly, and I came here during restaurant week when they had a prix fixe. I had the house salad with ginger dressing, miso soup, and the JB(?) bagel rolls which had salmon and cream cheese in them. At first when I had the miso soup and the salad I was pretty weary. In my opinion ginger has all the potential to be used smartly with salad, this ginger dressing however, was not. The miso soup was ok, again hints of ginger that I did not think we’re necessary. The sushi was muy bueno, but I must emphasize, I do not eat sushi often at all. Also the atmosphere at this place was very cool for Binghamton, city-like. Basically, I would come back! It seems like a good place to dip your feet into the world of sushi.

Sushi is fine or whatever. Service was a metaphorical huge pile of garbage dumped all over our nice night out in downtown. Went on a Tuesday and was happily surprised to find that it was«dollar sushi» night. I understand that they are usually super packed on these nights because of all the BU students but this was before school had started again and so we were one of 7 or 8 tables of people. Despite the fact that they were only about half full — our service was pretty terrible. The waiter forgot to bring drinks that we ordered, making us remind him *multiple times* on one occasion. It also took about an hour for our sushi to come which seemed a little ridiculous but what do I know. When the check came, we were kinda surprised to find an 18% gratuity already added onto the bill for our party of 3! The usual refrain applies that I «usually leave 20% anyways» but we all balked at the combination of the poor service with the gratuity included. When we asked what was up with that, we were informed that this is always the case on dollar sushi night because«the place gets really packed and people stiff them on the tip because of how long it takes to get their food». When we asked to be allowed to leave our own tip, our waiter became rude and pressed us to defend our claim that the service was sub-par. 1. People not tipping you because the service is slow is not them«stiffing you». If you can’t handle the crowd then don’t seat so many people. This isn’t kindergarten you babies. 2. If a customer is complaining that they are unhappy with the service, you just shut your mouth and apologize. I wasn’t being unruly or mean or abusive. I just wasn’t unhappy with the service. 3. Gratuity included for a party of 3? Really? That deserves a big bold faced announcement on the top of your menu because it really isn’t standard even on dang dollar sushi night. Thank you douche-y waiter for making it really clear that I never want to step foot in this place again!
