Whatever you need for your home… they’ve got it at AT HOME. As another reviewer mentioned, they cover all the bases in the tableware department, including carrying Vietri– the manufacturer of those stunning, and hard to find, Italian dishes.

On top of that– they have a superior line of affordable upholstered sofas and chairs that you can custom order in the fabric of your choice. If you truly want one stop shopping, you can also select your linen or silk curtains, unique lamps, artwork, and accessories, while your there. Done!
In the mean time– since you’ve completely outfitted your place, go ahead and pick up a scarf and earrings for your sisters’ birthday, and an aromatic candle for that hostess gift your going to need next week. They’ll wrap them up attractively for free.
I always as for Elizabeth– she has a keen eye for design– and the discerning ability to pick up on your particular sense of style, while completely respecting the parameters of your budget.

At Home is pretty much the «go to» place for lots of Birminghamsters when it comes to «starter-​home» furnishings. You can satisfy nearly all of your candle, lamp and tablescape (I have wanted to use that word ever since I saw Sandra Lee on the Food Network!) needs here. They have an extensive line of Vietri, gorgeous glassware, inexpensive table linens, and an almost inordinate collection of napkin rings. If you’re looking for something to set up your table, they have it.
Their home furnishings collection, however, leaves a little to be desired. I have purchased a fair amount of furniture from At Home in the past. And everything still looks the same as it did back in the late 90s. I don’t know about you, but I want to see new and innovative when it comes to dressing my home.
At Home has a great candle selection, with the majority of the Vance Kitera line represented (lots of colors, shapes and sizes). They also carry Votivo, Archipelago and their own home scent line (which I happen to like — very well priced, lots of selection).
When I’m buying home furnishings, customer service is kinda key — they do fall short in that area. With the exception of one (and she’s usually in the back because she’s a buyer) all of the great sales people have moved on.

They have truly wonderful home furnishings here but stay away from anything with upholstery. Our $ 4500 couch didn’t even last 4 years. When I asked if there was anything they could do (reupholster, etc) the manager didn’t even contact me or answer my emails. They don’t stand behind their products or are even bothered to talk to you once they have your money. They’ve gotten all the money from us they ever will.

At Home carries a lot of very interesting, chic furnishings and décor items. Some of the décor (and perhaps furniture) are often unique and exclusive to At Home. The sales staff are generally helpful and not in the least bit pushy. In fact, they at times seem rather nonchalant — as if they could care less if you bought something from them or not. The biggest problem with At Home is that they are incredibly expensive, even for the quality. For example, there are furniture stores in the surrounding area (e.g., Trussville, Calera, Warrior) that carry the same furnishings from the same manufacturers at a much lower price. I’ve compared the exact same sofas and chairs, for example, at At Home and at these other dealers. You can save hundreds upon hundreds of dollars easily by driving 15 – 20 minutes. And, delivery to Birmingham from these stores is either free or no higher than At Home, who subs out their delivery. If you are looking for a unique small item for décor or a cool lamp, I’d give At Home a shot. If, however, you are punching a sofa, chair, bed, etc… built by a major manufacturer (e.g., Rowe, Robin Bruce, etc.), I assure you that you will save big by venturing out a bit.
