When you go to the hardware store for a couple items, and you’re thinking: If I could just find somebody to point me to the thing I’m looking for, I can take it from there… then you wander around, look high and low… never see a soul… well that’s not Cahaba Heights Hardware. Man, walk in the door almost anytime, and you’ve got help. They’ll take you to what you’re looking for, give you choices, and/or help figuring it out. I honestly don’t think you can put a price on that kind of service; but if getting what you want/need the first time through is important, at a good price, skip the big boxes and check this place out.

I find this store to be overpriced, with rude employees. I recently returned an item, with a receipt, the day after buying it, and he gave me back less than I paid for it, without looking up or any explanation. Rude, careless, a mistake, whatever. Go elsewhere.

This is the kind of place every single town needs! Perfect service and great prices! They take the time to find that one random screw you need to fix that 25 year old lamp you got from your great aunt. We showed up 5 mins after they closed and they held the door open for us… We declined since we know we will be back! Friendly local service! Dear Home Depot… I’m never coming back!

After trashing Five Points Hardware, I felt I needed to send some props to these guys. It looks small, but they always have what I need in stock. Even better, these guys know their stuff. Ask them a question and they’ll give you a really good answer, which really helps when you’re a little challenged as a handyman.
