Extremely competent service at competitive prices. These guys are not just throwing gear at you, they get you what you need. Paul spent the time with me to get me fitted with the right boots for my feet. He even correctly predicted what boots and modifications had been done to them based on my fit, when I told him when I last got fitted. After we settled on a boot he made significant modifications to the shell to get it right for me. I didn’t question the price because I felt the service was worth any mark up that was in the deal, to my surprise when I checked the internet I had actually gotten a better price in store than I could find the same boots for with no service.

Awesome variety of products, amazing sales (I got over 50% off on descente’s best ski pants Black Friday weekend) and they have an awesome rewards system that they honor very well. This place has become my go-to ski shop.

This has become my go-to ski shop in town. Great service and selection. I was looking for new mittens and a knit hat. I stopped at REI then Moosejaw. Both left me very disappointed. I can’t believe I didn’t think of Don Thomas first. Lesson learned.
They can be a bit expensive, but only carry high-quality gear. Like most things in life, you get what you pay for. Be sure to check out their annual sale in July for some bargains. They also provide ski service here. I’ve had my skis serviced at REI and Modern Skate and Surf, and Don Thomas is much better.

A big thumbs up for the Team at Don Thomas Sporthaus.
I went in with a budget and what I wanted.
they gave more than enough help and advice, remained attentive even when there were other people waiting.
I walked out with what I wanted for a little over what I intended to spend (I guess I future proofed, following advice).
Will happily go back when I need help, advice or additonal/new equipment.

I’m really glad someone brought a ski shop back to Birmingham. Once again (Like the old days when Bavarian Village was on Townsend) they managed to score an excellent location.
I’m also impressed that Don Thomas has evolved into more of a sporthaus rather than a boutique ski shop. Carrying superior brands such as Volkl, Atomic, K2, Burton, Rossingnol, Technica– to name a few.
What I also learned is that in the move from Telegraph (old location) to Old Woodward, they decided to go green. Go to their website and check out the press link and read the whole story– it’s nice to know that people really are thinking about what difference THEY can make.
I also like that the staff really listens to what you need that will fit your budget.
