If I could give ZERO stars I would!!! I redeemed a Groupon and had high hopes given the close proximity to my house. I was concerned about the dog inside but let it go. I had a pedicure(lasted 5 days) and a Shellac manicure(that only lasted 2 days). I left the country and upon my return(8 days later) contacted(left a vm) for the business explaining the short life span of my polish and only requested a repair. Fast forward 3 days and still NO response. I called them back and spoke with the lady who did my services(she happened to answer the phone). I was then told to wait for Amanda(the owner) who promptly told me that since it was my natural nail they didn’t guarantee the services. She also mentioned the fact that I paid with a Groupon. I asked if this was their policy for regulars and she hung up the phone! I’m not unrealistic in my expectations and my home mani/pedi lasts longer than this! I highly doubt this is their policy but more so their stance for Groupon customers. No need to worry though, I won’t be back and have since told others not to go either. While receiving my services the technician asked how I was paying and I told her and she kind of groaned. I asked her about it and she said that they had a good clientele and only ran the Groupon because of a new girl(to help drum up business) but she didn’t last a month. This should have been a red flag for me but I shrugged it off given that I was hoping everything would be okay and I would become a regular. Here’s my advice, if you a going to treat Groupon customers like crap and don’t want their business, DON’T ADVERTISE/RUN Groupon offers! I had high hopes and my hunt will continue for a salon to keep my tips and toes and excellent condition that isn’t 30 miles from my new house. Side note: Ironically their mani(shellac)/pedi combo price was the same and the Groupon price($ 35/total).

I have been meaning to write a review for Essentials of Eton Street Nail Salon for a while now and have finally gotten around to it. I bought a Groupon for Essentials about a year and ½ ago and was so impressed I have been back for a number of pedicures. Upon arriving I expected the place to be a big shop like the normal nail places you go but was surprised when I walked in to see only three manicure stations and at the time only two pedicure chairs(now upgraded to three). I was assigned to Danielle for my pedicure. She did an AMAZING job. Did I mention I am super picky? She always make my nails perfectly strait across(it drives me nuts when people dont know how to file strait). There is never any bubbling in my paint and she does a quality job! Last night I got my first gel polish manicure and I am in love with it! Also, the comment about the owner(amanda) is not very accurate. Initially it did take me about a month to get an appointment but as I stated before they only have 3 stations… how can you expect them to knock out hundreds of groupons in a short amount of time with very few workers? She is very down to earth and funny. You feel like you are just shooting the shit with a couple girlfriends when you get your nails done here. The only thing that would make this experience better would be some VINO;) Oh yeah, CASHONLY! I felt bad the first time I went because I didn’t know this policy and had no money to tip Danielle:(Whoops!

The owner of this place is a straight up(you know the rest)! The 1st time I called the salon she made it be known that I could not use the deal that I bought for myself and the one that my boyfriend bought for me as a gift for my birthday(in separate visits, of course :-); she told me that I had to give one of my coupons away. OK, no problem, I did. Then, after I gave one of my coupons away told me that she didn’t have any appointments for a month. OK, no problem, I’ll wait. When she finally had appointments she refused to let 3 of us come into the salon at the same time. Even though, I booked my appointment almost a month in advance she told me that she would only have two nail technicians working that day. OKAY, NOPROBLEM! So, I scheduled 2 appointments at 5:30(one for my mother-in-law and one for my friend) and one myself at 4pm. Unfortunately, the day before the appointment, my m-i-l had to cancel her appointment because she had to be at a work meeting in Lansing until 4:00pm, so I called at 6:00pm the day before and asked her if I could change my 4pm appointment to 5:30 and cancel my m-i-l 5:30. This(you know the rest) decided to just forfeit my living social deals??? Bottom line, if you don’t want to provide discounted services, DON’T!!! But, please don’t offer customers deals and then make it nearly impossible to redeem the deal or to enjoy the redemption of the deal. Luckily for me I didn’t patronize this business directly so gave me a full refund(and additional $ 25 credit) for the inconvenience of dealing with this shenanigan!

Not for out-of-towners. I searched this place out on Unilocal and thought I would be able to get a last minute pedicure before a wedding later that day. I had no luck! The technicians were nice. They thanked me for following up on the referal. They were fully booked for the day and said they do NOT take walk-ins. Maybe I missed the info on my phone app, but this is an appointment only business.

I bought a Groupon for Essentials of Eton Street nail salon and am a very satisfied customer. The shop is lovely with three very stylish nail stations and two pedicure baths. The staff were charming and gracious and cool about that fact that I was running late. Not a great way to make a first impression(on my part)! Danielle did an awesome job. She was very pleasant, my feet are so smooth now and my toes and fingers look great! Excellent polish selection and really top notch massage chairs. I will definitely go back again!

Essentials of Eton Street is the hidden gem of nail salons in the area. The shop is very cute and clean and the chairs are super comfortable. The shop has a really nice ambiance and has a comfy area to wait in or to relax while you’re drying. Amanda(the owner) does an awesome job on manicures and pedicures and my nails often stay looking perfect for over a week, which never happened when I went somewhere else. They do acrylics here too and do a really nice job. The shop uses OPI and Essie and stays very current on all the newest colors. The shop has no set hours, and I highly recommend an appointment(versus being a walk in) because they book up FAST and have a lot of standing appointments. I usually try and book an appointment no sooner then 2 weeks ahead of time. The shop also offers an amazing deal to get a free manicure with your pedicure. This is totally my guilty pleasure!
