I am a fan. Firehouse never disappoints and if I had a gun to my head, I would choose Firehouse over subway any day. I haven’t stepped out of the box to much here. I have only tried the«turkey bacon ranch» but, my friends usually get the«hook and ladder.» For a chain restaurant, it’s not bad at all. The service is OK, nothing exceptional. If you are hungry for lunch and need a quick bite to eat, Firehouse subs is a great call. Won’t blow your socks off but will tickle your tummy.

The only downside to this location is that it is so slow. The food is great and the workers are mostly friendly, but it would definetly get more service and customers if they started to pick up the pace.

This is my favorite of the sub chains. The hook and ladder is my fav. This location has friendly service and they had about six people working behind the counter making subs when I visited so my to-go order was out quickly. However, this particular location is kind of depressing for some reason. Florescent light, stuffy air and everything seemed kind of sticky. Maybe my view is a bit influenced by the fact that I recently visited the relatively new firhouse location at five points. That location is bright and clean in comparison. That being said, for a to-go order it was just fine … Quick!

If you don’t like Firehouse Subs, you’re not eating it right! I’ve only discovered Firehouse within the last 2 years, but man am I glad that I did! Not to put down any other sub shops, but these are not just the typical bread with toppings layered individually in between. Firehouse Subs taste like complete meals that have been melded together with rich delicious flavors! Speaking on this location in particular… they are great! Of course you get the standard«Welcome to Firehouse» greeting from every worker in sight! It’s always clean in here and service is always quick, whether I’m the only one there or if there’s a line. On several occasions when I am the only one there, if I ordered a sandwich only, I have been offered a drink while I wait. What kind of great customer service is this!!! One last note: Up to a certain point in time, I had only ever ordered a large Italian on wheat, no onion, no tomato. I frequented this location so often that the employees knew my order by heart. Not only this, I was asked if I’d ever had any of the other sandwiches(which I hadn’t at that point). One employee presented me with the offer that if I came in later that week and ordered a different sandwich, if I didn’t like it… he’d personally pay for that sandwich and my trusty Italian that I love so dearly! Not only is the Firehouse brand amazing… this location on 31 in Vestavia rocks pretty hard too!
