I love cake. Gia makes cakes. Gia makes very pretty cakes. Gia makes custom cakes. Cake is delicious. The bf turned 30, and I wanted another custom cake. Since Gia’s is closer than the other cake designer I used last time, I gave Gia a shot. You don’t have to order an everyday flavor. The bf is Indian, and he is not a fan of the regular American cakes. He says they are too sweet. I think he’s stupid, but whatever. I told Gia this, and we came up with pistachio flavored cake. I also had to change the date on her a couple of times, and she was a doll about it. I wanted a cricket themed cake, because the man of the house loves the cricket. He will wake up at 3am if he has to just to watch a match. Gia accomplished the cricket task. The flavor was great. Not too sweet at all. The cake was pretty, yet manly. The only thing that is a little disappointing is the price. There is a minimum cake size, and it can’t be negotiated even if you have a small party. So over half the cake got wasted. A $ 163 cake mind you. I would definitely recommend letting Gia do your custom cake.

My wife sent me down to Gia’s to pick up some things for the family and some friends this week. I wasn’t too sure how I’d feel walking into a cake shop(not my usual hangout spot), but it smelled so good from the outside that got over it — fast! I had already enjoyed their cupcakes and cookies on other occasions(their buttercream is my favorite… I really liked it on the orange cupcake they made for tailgating). This trip was about pumpkin. They had these Spiced Pumpkin Cupcakes that my wife wanted to try and give to her friends, so I rushed over. The staff were super friendly and informative and they helped me quickly but still took the time to speak to me. When I got home I got to try the goods, and, once again, I was NOT disapointed! These are some delicious cupcakes! Might even be better than the orange with the buttercream… but I guess I’ll have to go get more to make sure!

If there was a zero star option, I would give it zero stars. I have never tasted a worse cupcake in my life. They are the most expensive cupcakes in town and are dry and flavorless. Additionally, the frosting has virtually no taste and is pure lard. It’s definately not buttercream, as desceribed by the store. I’ve never tasted a frosting that slid down my throat. They were, hands down, the most awful cupcakes I’ve ever had. They were so terrible, that we threw the last 2 away. My advice is to go to one of the other bakeries in town that have better cupcakes at a lower price.
