The first few times I’ve been here, the food was fantastic and I absolutely enioyed it. However, the last few times I’ve eaten here, it’s been pretty disappointing. The portions have gotten smaller and the quality isn’t as great and it seems like the prices change every time. Whenever I order pickup, my takeout bag seems to be just haphazardly put together becsuse sauce is just spilling out of the boxes. Unfortunately, I don’t think I’ll be going back, which is a shame because Giuseppe’s was such a gem.

A nice little Italian restaurant. They gave me a ton of sauce on my delicious Alfredo pasta, I loved the Caesar salad too. It was very fresh and they hooked up extra noodles for the pasta sauce.

Been here twice. 1st time ordered lasagna, too salty for my taste but great flavor. Came back and tried calzone. Wow! That was delicious and such a generous portion. Crust was perfect. Got 2 meals out of it and I am not a «petite» dude. Attentive service, and reasonable prices. We’ll be back.

We were immediately seated in this cool, neighborhood-style resident. Our server was very nice. I ordered the four cheese calzone and my wife had the lasagna and they were both amazing! We finished off our meal with the canoli. We recommend all of these things and we will be back here to try more items on the menu! I can’t wait!

This was our second visit. On our first visit we had a pizza, which was wonderful and why we came back a second time. This time we got pasta with meat sauce. Very bland… actually no taste. We will come back, but only for the pizza.

I honestly don’t understand how this place has received so much hype. It’s good but I wouldn’t call it fantastic either. I went to dinner with a friend there. Together we ordered the baked feta, lasagna and some kind of veggie spaghetti dish. I never tried her food but we did share the appetizer. The feta dip was actually very good with some nice toast points. My lasagna was a different story. It’s not that it was bad at all but it tasted like something I could definitely make at home. I know people say that on reviews all the time but as much as I cook other things and have cooked lasagna, I could have done the same thing. My friend said her dish was good as well but agreed that the baked feta was the real star. A few comments about the restaurant: The place was nice and cozy, not really fancy at all but I liked that. The staff was very nice and suggested what we should get. Even thought it was a Saturday night, they weren’t too busy which was a pleasant surprise. All in all, I won’t be coming back to the place but I may recommend it to some friends.

Great atmosphere with live music on many Wednesday’s of the week. Good Italian food that I often have a hankering for at the end of a long day. Appreciate the service and its independence from other restaurant chains here in downtown Birmingham next to UAB.

So I was really excited that I found a place near campus that did pasta. So I went in for lunch and ordered the chicken fettuccini alfredo, and unfortunately it was not the best. It was under-salted, grainy and had this weird kinda burnt after taste, plus the chicken was very bland. Anyways tried to garlic break that came along with it, the quality of the bread was amazing, but again bland, like just way under salted. I’m gonna try to the pizza next but I wouldn’t ever eat that again. The service was amazing though!

Had cheese bread, a side salad, and a pepperoni pizza and all of it was delicious. We ordered it as take out so I’m not sure as to the inside of the place but man was it good! I’m a Unilocaler at heart and love to visit new places when my husband and I have to travel for work. This place lived up to its reviews on here. I recommend it for sure.

Nice, tucked away gem that hosts many Italian delights, of the typical pasta and sandwich variety. I ordered the chicken marsala which I would say was of fair size and good taste. The main point that struck me was when the lady behind counter recognized a costumer in line behind me and asked her if she wanted the usual and recited her order despite the fact that the woman did not place a to go order. What sets more homey, warm, unique places like this apart from the competition is their ability to cater to their costumers. With great service like this, many people are likely to come to love this local Italian favorite.

Definitely dine at this little dive ristorante, I promise you won’t be disappointed. I’ve had the pizza, calzone, and manicotti so far and I was pleased every time. I also had the meatball sub lunch special that comes with pasta salad and a drink for $ 7. It was the best $ 7 meatball sub I’ve ever had and put me in a food coma afterwards! Quaint little mom and pop place that you order at the counter and hopefully get a seat. They have outdoor seating and they serve beer and wine as well. The staff is always friendly and makes me feel like I’m a regular!

It was cute and and a hidden gem. We went here for lunch and I ordered the lasagna and it was good. I think they use sausage and not just beef in theirs which I don’t really like but I still ate it. I should have asked if it was only beef in it. My friends ordered pizza. They both agreed their pizza was very good. I will definitely be going back I will just Order something different.

If it was possible to be in a relationship with a restaurant, I’d be in one with Giuseppe’s. Their meatball sub is amazing, and at $ 4.69 for a 6″ and pasta salad you really have no reason NOT to try it. Notable mentions also include the Italian Stallion sub, spaghetti and meatballs, and basically everything else on the menu. You won’t be disappointed. Small dining space, and it’s usually pretty crowded, but getting it to go is fine for me! I love this place!

I can not say enough how much we LOVE this place! A lot of people don’t know where it is when we tell them about it, because it is sort of out of the way if you aren’t familiar with the Glen Iris neighborhood in Southside. The building is small and you will likely have a wait many nights. There are a few tables alongside the sidewalk as well, which will provide for a quieter experience. The service is always outstanding… very friendly servers and quick service! The food is some of the best homemade Italian that we have ever had… seriously! I have tried most everything on the menu, but always seem to radiate back to the delicious manicotti or lasagna. Their bread loaves are very tasty as well. The prices are GREAT for the amount of food that you get(we usually end up taking half of it home with us for lunch the next day.) Do yourself a favor and give it a try!

Upon arriving in the magic city we decided Giuseppe’s was a must. Ordered the large all meat, cheese bread, and a side of parmesan cheese. My 92 year old mother who has never eaten here proclaimed it won’t be as good as Godfathers. She wolfed down 3 pcs of cheese bread with marinara sauce. After eating 2 slices of the all meat pizza she proclaimed it was her best pizza and cheese bread. She wants to go back and try the pasta dishes. We all had a great meal and look forward to a return visit.

This place is another awesome Bham«hidden gem.» UAB students get 10% off! Thank you very much! My two highest recommendations are the calzones and the tiramisu. I am so happy with the guiseppe’s special calzone that I get it over and over. The lunch prices are right where they should be and I love the lunch manicotti. I recently branched out and tried the chicken marsala. It was not my favorite marsala sauce as I have a specific taste Im looking for in marsala dishes but it was a pretty good dish and I might get it again if I can tear myself away from the calzone. People gush over the bread and the freshly grated parmesan cheese… as they should. I agree with Erin’s comment of «carb coma!»

Giuseppe’s is a quaint little hole in the wall of an Italian restaurant, but the food is fantastic. Went here with another couple for dinner. I got a pasta dish with chicken and a white wine cream sauce with a Peroni beer. My dinner companions got pizza, a meatball sub, and the biggest calzone I’ve ever seen. Everyone was extremely happy with their meals. However, it was the dessert that I keep dreaming about. The cheesecake and tiramisu alone are worth the visit! I love that it’s a small, intimate restaurant, and at less than 40 dollars for the two of us to both have drinks, dinner, and dessert, it’s an affordable date night. I’m already trying to plan my next visit!

Prepare to be in a carb coma. Their food is scrumptious, and the portion sizes generous. The staff if friendly and seem to genuinely care about their customers. They have lunch specials daily. I’ve had the cheese bread, baked feta, lasagna, pizza, and vegetable pasta and would highly recommend them all(just maybe not all in one trip). Oh and for dessert the cheesecake and tiramisu are good enough to save room for. It is a very small establishment, but they do take reservations(yay!). Disregard the crazy looking strip mall where it’s located, and you’ll be glad you decided to try it.

Let me start off by saying service is always great. I really have only one thing negative thing to say and that is I wish they served more than just beer and wine. Now, the food… i wish i could describe it to you… I usually get manacotti… huge portions and it taste so fresh. I can imagine an old itallian grandmother preparing sunday lunch putting all of her love into the food. This food is delicious… any of the dishes you will not be disappointed. The prices are cheap, the portions are big and the food is… divine!

Okay so I have to admit when my fiancée said she knew a good authentic Italian place, I was skeptical to say the least. Being Sicilian and growing up with a Mom who scratch made everything, I knew it probably wouldn’t be up to par until i tasted it. I had to put the fork down cause I felt transported to my Mom’s kitchen. Yes, it was that good. I hate even putting that out on Unilocal cause I think of Giuseppe’s as my little hole in wall Italian place. I love it all. The sauce or as Mom would say gravy is incredible. The pizzas, calzones, homemade dressings, lasagna, and so on… i love’em all. We go frequently. The staff is great. Rachel makes sure you are taken care of… oh and get the Chianti~Cemura. Enjoy… you’ll thank me later.
