This hotel has been a miss for multiple stays over the last year. I stayed here multiple times in early 2015, until I changed to the holiday inn down the street. The service was bad, the laundry machines didn’t work, etc.
I stayed away for 8 months, and decided to give them another chance. The tv is the slowest channel changing tv I’ve ever experienced. The tv channels don’t match with either guide they supplied. This makes it impossible to bypass the extremely slow channel changing process. I complained and they gave me a different, incorrect channel guide.
Seriously, this place sucks compared to most Hampton inns.

Continental breakfast was atrocious. Sausage was nasty. Scrambled eggs tasteless. Coffee was good and room was clean and comfy. Staff was very friendly.

This is a really nice Hampton Inn. It’s close to my relatives and is in a really nice neighborhood of Birmingham, a la Hoover. There is a movie house across the street.
The hotel is newly built so has an excellent exterior and newly defined interior. I plan to stay here every time I come to visit.
The rooms are standard Hampton style. I’ll be back!

Superior to the typical Hampton Inn experience. This hotel seems newer– it has upgraded plush décor that while faux, presents very comfortably. The hotel was clean and the staff were exceptionally friendly and hospitable, as one would hope to find in the South. The attendant upgraded my room to accommodate my preferences without charging me extra. There’s a great mall nearby, with excellent dining choices. If you’re a runner, or a walker, there’s a beautiful paved greenbelt near Samford University. (A must if you need to stretch your legs). I would definitely return to this hotel. Great experience & value.

Fairly typical for HI suites. Nice, clean, newer hotel with lots of so-so restaurant options in area.
Hotel staff are mostly pleasant.
Homewood suites down the road is a 1000X more quiet, has nicer /bigger rooms
