Harper Monroe Spa

I’m relatively new in town, so I didn’t even know where to begin to find a place for bodywork. There are SO MANY options, but when I’m dropping that kind of dough (and my clothes) I’d like to be reasonably sure that it’ll be pleasant, healing, and worthwhile.
An acupuncturist I follow and take reasonably seriously (as one can take a stranger) on Twitter mentioned she worked here so I figured I’d check it out, and was incredibly pleased. It’s a very new, small space in a lovely ground level boutique mall on Kent Ave. Apparently it is operated by a group of women that graduated from the school for Oriental medicine school together, and the vibe of the staff is really earnest, knowledgeable and warm which put me at ease immediately. I got the feeling everyone is on the same healing mission (but not in a cornball or dogmatic way).
The studio itself is what I would call «elegantly efficient» (also very clean). Stacy, who I believe is the owner, listened to what I was looking for gave me an East/​West-​style massage that was therapeutic and relaxing. Though the space is small, she was able to create a very physically and mentally comfortable atmosphere. This place just feels *good*. I’ll definitely be coming back for more work and will certainly try their other services (facial, manicure).

While visiting a friend in the Williamsburg area of Brooklyn I decided to get some delicious Cupcakes at 240 Kent Avenue to take as a gift. And what should I find right next door but the cutest little spa I have ever seen. Harper Monroe Spa is amazing. I have never seen anything like it. A perfect blend of luxury, style, comfort, friendly employees and the most amazing products. They have everything from Lollia, Farmhouse Fresh Products, Imported Organic Skincare from Australia and did I mention Mimosas? I decided to get a quick brow clean-​up and manicure and was blown away. The esthetician re-​did my brows and for once in my life they were perfect. She was so gentle I fell asleep and that has never happened. I mean, who falls asleep during a waxing? I didn’t have time to get more done but I have already pre-​booked my next brow appointment for 6 weeks and I look forward to my next visit.
This is a definite must try. They have everything.
