Love the front desk staff and the bartenders always treat me well (don’t forget to tip folks!). My room is always clean and they do their best to accommodate any of my requests. My go to Garden Inn when in BHam

The restaurant/​bar area is horrible. I just finished dinner, if you can call it that. I ordered the hummus plate and their signature shrimp dish. There were only 4 of us there and a guy who placed a go order. took 30 min for my food to come out. The hummus plate had numerous alterations because from what the other guest are saying they are out of a lot of stuff. Then when the shrimp dish comes out its basically a shrimp cocktail. This isn’t even close to what the menu says it is. The cook then comes out and says, «well normally people order it that way and I can make it the regular if you want»? Really, I didn’t ask for any changes and it already took 30 min just for that. No thanks. So I substituted for the soup, that took 10 min. The girl next to me ordered a double grilled cheese and soup and that took 20 min and was wrong. There were two girls and the cook bopping around the bar and some guy named TIm. I have no idea his function or the others. Oh and now for the glass selection for drinks. Didn’t know what glass is for red and white and then just grabbed a glass for a margarita for a customer because I guess the others were missing? My empty beer and clearly done food as the napkin was on it sat in front of me for over 10 min. I was never asked if I wanted anything else. I had to ask. Again the most amount of people at any given time was 4. The service was so bad I will not be back for breakfast and doubt I will ever stay here again. Fingers crossed the room is okay.

I’m tagging along while my husband is traveling for work. He stays at Hilton properties weekly for work. I must say we both are extremely impressed with the exceptional customer service provided. From Ms Lillian the GM to Ms Rosa the bartender it’s obviously that all the employees genuinely enjoy working her. We definitely will stay here again when we come to the area.

Really nice place with über friendly staff. Décor modern and rooms comfortable. Restaurant for breakfast in lobby area. Other meals available through room service. Breakfast has sliding scale charge. Complementary coffee and tea 24 hours. Meeting room, business center, fitness room with 3 walking machines and weight machine. Variety of hand weights. In room Keurig, micro/​fridge, blackout curtains. Don’t like feather pillows, mattress comfy. Neutrogena soap. Office chair at desk in room, very comfy. Convenience shop with necessities and sealed meals. Wine available. Variety of restaurants and WalMart nearby.

This was my first time staying at a Hilton chain. Not the best experience but it wouldn’t sway me from staying at one again. First, there was a strong odor of natural gas filling the lobby when we arrived. I mean STRONG. Apparently, the stove had been left on from lunch and the staff was handling it but the front desk staff seemed to be put off by the questions and understandable concern of the dozen or so patrons who were checking in at the same time. One guest called the FD (which was not unreasonable, IMO) but this obviously aggravated the front desk staff and one of them made condescending comments about «whoever called the FD». Second, I received a gift basket delivery prior to arrival that was waiting at the desk and I clearly had my hands full with my luggage. But, the staff made no offer to have it brought up to my room. It was quite an inconvenience but I managed. Third, and this is minor, the clock in my room was an hour behind. My fault. I’ve should’ve noticed it. But, by trusting that clock, I was late for a very important meeting. The room itself was nice and tidy upon my arrival. Nothing out of place. Everything in the bathroom was amply stocked. I did use the refrigerator and microwave in my room during my stay with no problems. I did have trouble finding the right balance with the thermostat for some reason. I did appreciate the abundance of electrical outlets available. Too often, I have to rotate what devices I can charge because there aren’t enough plugs available. Not the case here. The bed was firmer than I’m used to but, still, I had a good night’s sleep. The one highlight of my stay was the pillows. I even jotted down the brand (Classic Too by Down Drams, Inner Chamber 80% duck feather/​Outer Chamber 13% down) so I can order some to have at home. They were so amazingly comfortable! All in all, it was a decent hotel but staff could use some customer service refresher training, IMO.

When we arrived on the 22^nd we were given the wrong room that already had a guest checked into, embarrassing for all parties when we opened door to find another guest in bed! Desk staff excuse was that they had mistakingly given the wrong room. That could have been very bad if it had been a female surprised in the room! Second day 23^rd, room keys would randomly work and not work, made several trips down to desk to get them fixed. Third day on 24^th we arrived back in the afternoon to find the room was not cleaned and there were no fresh towels. When I went down to front desk I was informed that since there was low occupancy they had decided not to have housekeeping come in for the day! This was uncalled for to not provide housekeeping services to guests, it should not matter how many guests there are. They gave me some towels and said that was all they could do for the room. One of the issues I noticed is that some of the hotel desk staff have friends coming up to see them and the desk staff person is constantly lounging in the guest areas either with friends or on personal phone calls. I expected much more of Hilton that this type of service, we drove cross country and made many reservations at 5 different Hilton hotels, however after this stay I believe we will change our remaining reservations to Hyatt.
Clean hotel is about all good I can say. Don’t stay here service is bad.

I have no complaints about staying in this location. I will definitely come again.

The manager, Brandon, deserves many kudos from me and my family. We stayed there on a Saturday night on our way down to Gulf Shores. The next day we left and 2 hours into the ride my daughter tells me she can’t find her iPad mini! What? So I called and spoke to Brandon. He went directly to the room and retrieved it. He called me back and told me that he found it and he kept it in safe-​keeping for us until we drove back through on our way home. My husband and I… and our daughter… are very grateful for Brandon.
We only stayed one night, but the accomodations and staff were great!

Good thing it is basically in Homewood Alabama meaning that you can find good places to eat close by.
Hotel has a very friendly staff, it is clean, quiet, and offers a good breakfast. Yes, it does stink that HGI does charge for breakfast (you can switch your honors to free less points) however I do like my points.
This location will book quickly. If not here go to the Mountain Brook area just 6 miles east.

This was a great place to stay. Traveling from CA — STL — down to Gulf Shore, we stopped here when we got tired and caught in a bad burst of a storm. The room was $ 101 for a double queen and they gave us a roll away bed for free. It was spacious, clean, and the staff was SO friendly. Mr. Toney in the dining area was great, he was so much fun to talk to and had interesting stories. Good food except the nacho cheese is cheap. The chef did a stand up job. Complimentary coffee, cookies and tons of yummy tea were a bonus. Great pool area, small workout area with free weights, two treadmills, and an elliptical. I can’t emphasize enough how great the staff is– I highly recommend staying here! Five stars because it was above and beyond for the reasonable price.

We were booked to stay here after an event in Tuscaloosa during the Alabama vs. LSU game so staying in that area during that time was simply not an option.
We didn’t check in until nearly 1am but the process was quick and the front-​desk representative was friendly and helpful. He even made late night dining suggestions and offered us complimentary bottles of water.
Our room was clean, spacious, and overall very nicely furnished especially considering the price point. The location is also very convenient to various kinds of shopping and dining including Starbucks, McCalister’s Deli, and a few fast food joints.
The lobby area hosts a nice dining area where for an additional cost, you can enjoy meals and libations. I opted for some fresh fruit and tea which set me back around $ 5.
Overall, this is a solid option to a weary traveler on a budget!
