Friendly and helpful staff. The service manager spent over an hour helping me find everything on my list.

Lowe’s is supposedly one of the most pet friendly store chains… but not this one. I was just in the store… popping for something on my way home and I had my 6 pound daschund on a leash with me. I was planning on being in and out in 5 minutes. I stopped a very unfriendly, unhelpful, bitter woman who worked there to ask her a question about where I could find what I needed. She told me to get out of the store — dogs are not allowed. It’s so funny, I always pop into Home Depot with my other dogs and they are more than welcome — they even give them treats! In fact, my 80 pound Lab is sort of star at the Home Depot on Hwy 150. Anyways, I just spoke with the manager of this store and he could’ve cared less. As a new homeowner who will nodoubtedly spend thousands and thousands of dollars on my house this year, I vow to not step foot in that store again. Plus, I’ll tell my friends. I know it seems like a little thing, but it really rubbed me the wrong way. That employee’s attitude and rudeness was so unexpected.

I love coming to Lowes and seeing all the cool things you can do for your home. The staff is helpful and knowledgeable. I just picked up a bunch of herbs :)

I don’t go to a lot of home improvement stores, so I don’t have many stores to compare this one against, but, let’s just say, I didn’t leave happy. This morning I strolled into my neighborhood Lowe’s with one goal in mind: buy kitchen appliances. After wandering around the appliances for a few minutes we were asked if we needed help, so things didn’t start off too shabby. Then it went downhill. The person assisting us doesn’t normally work at that store, so he had to ask someone else where every little thing was(not the end of the world). He then could not tell us what the basic differences were between any of the different refrigerators. Again, forgivable because the signs above the appliances described their features. We then were taken to the ice makers, after he confirmed where they were located. There were several different kinds, so we asked which would work in the refrigerator we were purchasing and were told that they were the same. This led to the obvious question of, if they are indeed the same, why would the same company package them in different boxes with different item numbers??? Luckily my boyfriend went back to the refrigerator and found out which one we needed from information listed above it. Now on to the range hoods. We were taken to them by our associate(after stopping for directions of course), and picked one out. He then proceeded to pull out a box containing a range hood of the totally incorrect brand. After this was pointed out to him, he apologized and pulled out another box… now a different, but still incorrect brand. Again, this was pointed out, and he finally grabbed the correct brand but incorrect color. He ultimately decided he would have to look up in the computer where the correct one was located, and when I say ‘he’ was going to look it up, I really mean the other associate because of course he doesn’t have his access codes yet. On to the ‘other’ associate. She did not know how to look up all of items we wanted to order and find out if they were truly in stock, so she called a manager over. Keep in mind, we purposefully picked out items that were listed as stock in the store, so that we would not be delayed in having them delivered. The manager comes over and discovers that 0 out of the 3 appliances were in stock in the store, and, because it is Sunday, there is no way to find out when we can have them delivered. I am at this point totally unimpressed with both the knowledge base of the Lowe’s employees that supposedly specialize in appliances and the ability of Lowe’s to get me the appliances I need. I expressed my dissatisfaction to the manager, and, to his credit, was given a 10% discount. Time to pay! I head up front to the register to complete my purchase. They had put all of our information into the computer in the back, and, according to legend, all you have to do is give the person running the register your phone number and all your information pops up, allowing you to complete your purchase. Apparently, this legend was wrong. Somehow, all of the blood, sweat, and tears that had been put in while in the appliance department were for nothing because none of our information had been saved. Back to the appliance section. The original associate that had been helping us was nowhere to be found, the item numbers of the appliances we wanted had mysteriously disappeared, and that manager was long gone. So, to keep myself from strangling an employee we went around and wrote down all the item numbers again. Then they put all the information into the computer again at the speed that paint dries. They were extremely apologetic at this point, but, I’m not gonna lie, I was over it. In conclusion, we had associates that had no base knowledge of any of the appliances, nor the difference in brands, Lowe’s doesn’t actually keep everything in stock that they say they do, and you should keep all of your desired item numbers handy because they might lose them.

It’s really hard to tell one of the big box stores from the next. They layout is generally the same, the prices rarely vary, and you always know what to expect. So why even review this Lowe’s? The service. Generally speaking, the service here has been leaps and bounds above the other large home improvement stores in the area. On a recent trip, I needed some basic cuts made to wood I was purchasing. This took a matter of minutes and I was on my way. I’ve had a different experience at other, similar stores. You know what you’re going to get, but you’ll probably get it with a smile.

A pretty accessible store, and the handful of employees I spoke with were fairly helpful in assisting my search for an air compressor and nailguns. There is a Sunbelt Rentals attached to the store where you can rent an array of equipment, which could be handy.
