This is a cool spot. However, it does get really crowded. I only wish they would have more live music and bands. I haven’t tried the food yet. The bartenders are pretty friendly, too.

My favorite bar in town! Every time I come in I feel welcome and get great service, no matter how busy it is. I normally get the breakfast tacos, unless it’s Tuesday and the hot dog special is running. Keep it up Phil and Marsha! I could not recommend this bar any higher

Food is THHEBESTLATENIGHTFOODYPUCANFINDINTHEHAM. Bartenders are super attentive and nice, but, they will not put up with your bullshit. If you end up here. Youre in the right place

In a sea of dance clubs and bars packed out with teenagers and barely legal college kids, Mary’s is a shining beacon of hope for our generation. I LOVE Marty’s. It’s chil most of the time but sometimes they invite a DJ or have an after party for a big event and then it’s a completely different place. Not only are the drinks good and not pricey but the food is absolutely fantastic. There are some nights that we’ll just go to Marty’s and grab a bite to eat to start, end or continue our night. Now that they’ve renovated the back patio, it’s even better. Come to Marty’s ready to make some new friends and have a grand old time.

This is the place that you go when you just want a no frills dive that has all your essentials. They serve food until 5am and serve drinks until 6am. It is pretty dark but a good place to just let loose and have some straight forward drinks. There isn’t a dress code, but I wouldn’t show up in your Sunday best as you’d be out of place. This is a «club» so you will need to pay for a membership which is $ 2. They have a solid mix of spirits, a bunch of local beers and some bota box wine. They were out of wine when we went but their vodka soda was not a let down. Overall this is a solid after hours bar when you are not done drinking and want some food!

Great late night spot! Marty’s has definitely changed a little these days, but, the beer is ice cold and the bacon cheeseburger is still one of my favorites in town.

Bartenders lost my debit card, treated me like an idiot and asked me if I had lost it elsewhere, then ignored me after looking for it for half a minute. Avoid this place at all costs.

Great selection of beers. Full liquor selection. Kitchen open until 5am? That’s insane. The beef tacos are legit! Plus, they bring out eight different types of hot sauce.

Love this place. Great service and beers. Now I don’t drink liquor, but they have an incredible selection of top shelf spirits and a knowledgeable staff that can make recommendations. Their food selection is right on the money too. Who could hate on those giant burgers. I like how they have a rotating selection of specials in the food department. Also, the guy in the kitchen cooking the food(Hutch) has been doing so consistently in both eras of martys. All in all, this is a great place to hangout now.

Not the same as the original Marty’s. That said I enjoyed the drinks and the bartender was friendly and quick. I haven’t tried the food but others say it’s good. One of the few bars that stay open late. I recommend trying this place. Love music on Saturday nights.

Marty’s used to be a very cool dive bar back in the day… with awesome service, good drinks, and delicious food! I haven’t tried the food yet, but have not heard nearly as many good things about it as I used to. The drinks are still good, but the service is nowhere near the level that it used to be. Also, I wish they would have just left the interior alone instead of putting up the«fancier» looking brick wall over the mural that was there before. I mean, the place is still a dive bar despite some nice new finishes. I do love that they are open until 6AM, providing an alternative to some of the other late night«club» type bars.

This place has defiantly changed from the old Marty’s. Completely different atmosphere(no longer a dive)… The drinks are reasonably priced… The nights that I have been had no bands(miss that) although they may at times…

I’ve eaten late night food here for about 8 years now, and hands down, 100%, hand to God, this was the best patty melt I’ve ever had.

It was pretty good. Never being here before we walked in after 9 but before 10 and there were a couple of people there we felt super awkward so we decided to sit outside where we were going to leave. While deciding we sat outside on the tables. We were already having someone to meet up with us and we were still there when they finally got there. There was an employee who turned on a light or two(so it wasn’t pitch black) and some music and setting up a table. Shortly after more people started arriving(I suppose this is when it started hoping, after 10pm) because ID’s were checked and it seemed like a cover was being charged. We didn’t pay one I assume because we were there before 10? I am VERY glad that we sat outside tho. It quickly became crowded and the inside was LOUD because the number of people, size of the bar, and the karaōke going on. But drink prices were good O thought– a beer and 2 vodka cranberries were less than $ 6 total. I believe they also server some type of food. But over all it was a nice experience. I gave it 4 instead of 5 stars only because the sheer volume coming from inside was ridiculous if you were to sit inside. But I would come back for sure, showing up just before 10 tho(hehe).

I have been hesitant to do any review of Marty’s since ownership changed because I enjoyed the old joint quite a bit. I wanted to be sure to give the place a fair shake. Frankly, it isn’t the place it once was. The patty melt isn’t as good. The onions aren’t cooked quite enough. Service is spotty. Marty’s doesn’t have to be the place it once was; it could be so much better, instead of a shadow of itself.

Brunch happens the first Saturday of every month. The food is made from scratch… The biscuits and gravy and Eggs Benedict were both to die for. And the Bloody Mary was stout with the proper amount of spice… I thoroughly enjoyed it! Warning: don’t go there in a hurry. They do brunch so well that they could use more staff preparing food. But man oh man is it worth the wait!

I used to love this place. Now, the bartenders are a little rude and volatile, patrons a little too hammered. Brunch was good the one time they had it… Probably won’t go back anymore. Update: the owner, Kendra, banned me for this review — AND because she’s a bitch. Really? Need my money back for all these Marty’s cards. Second update: now she is stalking and harassing me on social media! Wow.

I was in town for work, a few colleagues and I were looking for a late night option. This place was great. It was about 2 am, after Thursday night and there was a good crowd there. The staff was friendly and they had a vast beer selection. I had the bacon cheeseburger which was delicious. If I am ever in Birmingham again, I will definitely go back.

Great, cheap drinks and excellent late night food. Try the patty melt – they’re famous in town for it. Burgers are amazing too. And Marsha is awesome.

It’s 3 am, you’re hungry and craving a beer to wash it down. I suggest this place. The burgers are awesome and will leave you happy and full. The chili is good too! They also have a recession special, which features a bologna sandwhich, chips, and a pbr for $ 5. Not bad! It might be a little rowdy and loud but that’s alright because you’re hungry and want to get a little tipsy. Even if you’re not looking to get drunk, just come here and get the burger to go. You won’t be disappointed.
