This music venue provides consistently excellent live music performances for a fraction of the price of less intimate and less audio friendly music venues in the Birmingham region. The atmosphere in the room(seats @ 90) connects the audience and performers in a unique and intimate format of a «listening room». Sometimes even veteran performers are nervous at the quiet attention of the audience. Bring your own food and drinks. This is the best bargain in Birmingham.

This is such a delightful gem in Bluff Park. We have been there twice. The first time was for a concert. It was so intimate that we felt the singer was singing just for us. We brought our own cooler and the table next to us offered to share as well. I wasn’t sure about the«bring your own cooler» idea but really is nice not to spend all our money on expensive drinks and blends in perfectly with the concept. The atmosphere is warm and friendly. Be sure to check their calendar so you can catch an artist before they hit big. You will certainly be able to catch a few artists and can say«I saw them when…» The second time at Moonlight was when we hosted a reunion party. Keith and Malcolm could not have been more accommodating and helpful. My only fear was parking, but as small as the lot is, in the evening the other tenants are gone, as well as the restaurant across the street. Parking was not a problem, even for our party of over 100 guests. The price is very affordable if you need a venue. We were expecting around 70, but our party was over 100 and there was plenty of space. One year later and my classmates still remark about how great that party was. And the sunset over the bluffs are spectacular.

Go There NOW — please. Support a delightful gem of a local venue with a plethora of musical artists. Go for the music, and BEPREPARED — take you own food, drink, comfy chairs, cooler and cash as it is austere — We have enjoyed a wide variety of artists over the years — and the proprietor continues to strive to jam pack even more eclecticism into the schedule. Be there ahead of time enough to stake your claim to front row seating, if not it isn’t so big that you wont still have a solid view of the performing area and performers. Keep on Shining MOTM!

I went to MOTM for the first time this weekend to see Joe Pug and it may have been one of my favorite shows in a while. It was a very intimate setting and you could bring your own beer AND food. It made for a perfect date night. My date and I stopped by Hop City, picked our favorite brews, grabbed some food, and had a lovely night seeing a great musician. FYI, bring your own pop up chairs because otherwise the seating is uncomfortable. Also, the show is cash only. So, cooler, food, cash, and chair and you are set!

I’ve been to a lot of shows here, and it’s always been a good time! This is definitely a venue for music-lovers, i.e. those of us who enjoy being still and just listening to the music, because it’s a pretty small space with all the focus on the artist. And because it’s a very up-close and intimate scene, it’s less weird to call out a request! Unless it’s for food/drinks — for that you’ll just want to bring your own like everyone else.

I’m a proud Bluff Parkian and avid music fan, so Moonlight is starting out on my good side. This music room is simple and it’s not a bar. Don’t think of it as a place to mingle with singles while ignoring a musical act. I don’t say these things in a negative light. It’s a great place to see acts that you love, while discovering new ones. You would think parking would be an issue, but it’s not. Since the shows are later in the evening, there are plenty of spaces around all of the closed businesses that surround Moonlight. So about it not being a bar… that’s actually a great thing for your wallet. If you like the drink, they let you bring your own. As long as you behave yourself and don’t drink and drive, you can sip on your juice while paying grocery store prices. Keep an eye on their schedule. I think you’ll be surprised by the great acts that come through here.

Love Moonlight on the Mountain – it’s just up the road from our house, showcases amazing musical talents who you may never hear otherwise(because radio sucks), the venue is intimate and atmosphere is wonderful, tickets are very affordable, and you can bring your own snacks and beverages(wine, beer, whatever!). At 28 and 24, my wife and I have been the youngest in there by far but guess what? We don’t care because the music, venue, and drinks are great! The owner, Keith, is awesome – friendly, dedicated to the cause of showcasing great musical artists, and passionate about the local community. Subscribe to his weekly emails, they’re both an entertaining read and keep you up to date on who is going to be playing the Moonlight!

I saw Sweetwater Road here and it was such a great experience! Small, intimate venue. I love this place! They don’t sell anything but encourage you to bring your own. Snacks, wine, etc. There are about 8 – 10 round tables with candles on each and then a few rows of seats behind those. Small stage with good sound and lighting. Very laid back setting, great change of pace. I will definitely be back! I think tickets are usually $ 8−12/person.
