I have visited this restaurant before with caution, and it was just ok… nasty restrooms, and broken booths. Went to this restaurant on yesterday and had the WORST service I have EVER had! First we walked in and the restaurant was very warm, and they had suchi and oysters sitting out on ice. Red flag that something was wrong! My food and my daughter’s food was cold and my husband’s rice was mushy and hardly any was left on the steam table. He asked them to bring out more. We informed the waitress that my chicken, fish, and shrimp were cold and my daughter’s chicken on a stick was cold. I told my daughter that if it’s cold don’t eat it, so she won’t be sick! The waitress touched the fish and said it was warm. I nicely told her I am pregnant and CANNOT eat the cold food. We tried to be as nice as we could and she kept telling us that they keep their food at 250 degress and that the food was fine! My food was ICECOLD. She tried to take us back to the steam table to prove to us that the food was warm, and I just wanted to leave. We told the cashier and the waitress followed us as if she was about to take us to jail! After the cashier listened to the waitress yell in their language, he says how can you tell the food isn’t cold if you didn’t eat it! Me and my daughter ate NOTHING, and my husband had a few bites. He told him that he ate and that we would pay for his food. He quickly rang up our order as if that’s all he wanted to hear, that I was paying for something just to get us out of there. I told him that I would go back and sit down and eat the food, get sick and SUETHEM! They were VERY rude and didn’t try to help satisfy us in anyway. WEWILLNOTBEBACK!

This is the worst buffet I have ever eaten. I drew up all my food after leaving this restaurant. I had a Terrible experience.

Last week I went into New China Buffet and noticed some things that weren’t very appetizing. The sushi station(like anyone should be eating sushi from there anyway) seemed to be a little warmer than it needed to be and the hot stations seemed to be colder than they should have been. I also noticed a lot of employees sitting in the back eating their own made food from the restaurant. Which consisted of a very large metal bowl they were all sticking their hands into and grabbing whatever they were eating out of it. Which I investigated; some kind of meat floating in water. Then I noticed a woman who was distributing the food to the buffet. At this point I had already stopped eating. She was wearing gloves BUT she never changed them, which negates the reason for gloves. She ran her had down the buffet counters(the way a child would run their hand down a wall, carefree out of boredom) stopped at the large metal bowl, stuck her hand in, ATETHATFOODWITHTHEGLOVEDHAND, then went to the back, grabbed another tray of food and distributed it out to the buffet. I got up and left. It was disgusting. Probably one of the dirtiest restaurants I’ve ever stepped into. Probably not to anyone who hasn’t been in food and beverage for 20 years, but as someone who has, absolutely disgusting. I, by no means whatsoever was expecting a fine dining experience, but I was expecting something a little more sanitary than a gas staton bathroom. Also, the staff might as well be non existent. All in all, a terrible experience and I wouldn’t encourage anyone to dine there.

Let me start by saying that Im not a huge fan of buffets, Chinese or any other kind. So take my three stars with a grain of salt… much like the food I am reviewing here. There was a HUGE selection of food including sushi and many interesting looking deserts. I had three plates of food and found a few dishes I thought were pretty good. The place seemed clean, there was a pretty good crowd at lunch, and the servers were pretty nice. I would go back here if am in the area again with someone who wants Chinese buffet. Price at lunch was pretty good too.

It was average… Watered down food. Outside looked old but was greeted with a deceiving 2nd floor décor as you enter. Didn’t try the hibachi bar, fruits were from cans or bulk casing except for melon and honeydew. I came to try it out and all I can say is the choices were ok.

If you want a lot of Chinese food, fried chicken, sushi and whatever else… they have it. The food is usually pretty good for a buffet. I usually steer clear from buffets for many obvious reasons like bad food, dirty or too many children. I can honestly say that every time that I have been it is clean, great selections and not too many children running around.

We have been going for years, and have never been disappointed. They have a huge selection of good food including in-house made sushi, raw oysters, crab legs(which I don’t care for, but are wildly popular,) and a hibachi bar where they will cook everything right in front of you. I always start with a big plate of sushi, of which they have a very good selection. The honey chicken and coconut shrimp are two of my other favorites. The spring rolls and crab angels are always very good too. They have a selection of American food(pizza, fried chicken, and even fried chicken livers,) but I have never given any of it a taste as there is too much good Chinese food to try in one sitting! The place is usually pretty crowded, but I have never been overwhelmed by the crowds in line or anything. The prices are also very reasonable. Very highly recommended, and one of our go to Chinese restaurants(and honestly the only buffet of any kind in town that I really like!)

Two hours before closing place is packed. Folks lined up for food waiting for kitchen to replenish buffet. Crab legs and being charged for them on buffet for dinner none to be found. Literally people lined up to get all there is. Nothing fresh coming out of kitchen. No fruit except honey dew and bananas with strawberry gel. Waste of $ 25.00.

My favorite Chinese buffet! I love the black pepper chicken, hibachi chicken and the spicy chicken. I also like their American choices such as the fried livers and Mac and cheese. The atmosphere and décor make you feel like you paid more money. The strawberry shortcake and ice cream selections are also a perk for those with a sweet tooth. For those who like sushi, they have one of the largest selections I’ve ever seen. The crab legs and steak are also available during dinner hours. For two people, you can eat for about $ 22. Overall, it’s great food for a great price and it’s worth a try.

The place was really clean and the service was okay. The food was not as great as I imagined it would taste. The sushi was not that impressive and one platter of sushi at the sushi bar had a piece of hair on top. I was excited to try the ice cream but was a little disappointed at how melted the ice cream was.

After our 13.5 mile hike, all we wanted was FOOOODDDD! So we picked this buffet off of Unilocal reviews. Food was ok, most of the food was fairly bland but if u add a little salt, BAM! Much better! There was a wide variety of choices! I was surprised that at one point I had fried chicken, mashed potatoes and corn on my plate at a Chinese buffet. We wanted to try the hibachi grill but the chef was no where in sight. My boyfriend ate pretty much everything but nothing stood out to him except the cocktail shrimp. And for me? I would come back just for the egg drop soup(with salt and pepper added of course) that alone was worth the 10.99 price! I think I had about 3 bowls haha

Very clean restaurant! Lots of different items to choose from! I enjoyed having different items on the buffet that other similar restaurants do not carry. The food was hot as well. They had the Sushi, oyster and Hibachi bars all in separate areas. Waitress was very prompt in refilling our drinks as well as clearing away dirty plates. I would have loved to give 5 stars. The only reason was where they got their wrapped silverware from before placing it on our table. It was in the windowsill. I will still come back here. I can always ask for fresh silverware..

Food was average to good. Food selection was decent however when I arrived a number of dishes were low in quantity and what was there was dried out. Sushi was good, fried rice and noodles were above average. Overall I would go back but only if I was unable to find someplace better

I really liked this place!!! I liked all the different types of food they have. And I’ve been looking for a place where I could get hibachi and this place made it very well! The only things I have to say I wasn’t crazy about were: that it was hard to get their attention for the hibachi(the guy wasn’t there & no bell or anything) and that they didn’t refill the sushi very quickly(stayed empty for more than a few minutes). Other than that I really liked it there!!!

The food not only looked good, it tasted good too. From sushi to ice cream it was all good. I don’t have the soup but everything else was good.

This place is pretty impressive, as far as size and variety go. Not only normal Chinese, but a small variety of Southern cuisine and approximately 8 – 10 flavors of self serve ice cream. They also have a Hibachi grill where you can select your items and have them cooked. And there’s sushi as well, though I have never tried it. Overall quality isn’t too much to brag about, but you’d be hard pressed to not be able to find something you like.

I come from the land of sushi and Asian buffets so when my boyfriend saw the reviews for this place, he knew this was going to be an inevitable stop for lunch at some point in our stay in Birmingham. I know it’s unfair to compare this sort of buffet to the ones back home but I honestly felt the food here was very, very mediocre at best. It wasn’t any better than the Asian buffets I even had in Auburn. The winning points of this buffet are the variety of food that make up for the lackluster taste. If you have a craving for every kind of fried entrée, there’s a bar for that. The hibachi bar is like any other hibachi bar you’ve ever been to. There’s also every flavor of Chinese chicken you’d ever be curious about. The sushi selection was not good. You have the typical selection of 2 fancy rolls, 2 – 3 regular fish on top of a roll of rice, and the rest that look and taste the same plus or minus one condiment. Nothing from this area stood out except for the sushi sandwich. The mayonnaise shrimp was disgustingly great. That was the only entrée item I came back to have again. Save your stomach for the ice cream bar. They have 10 flavors of ice cream ranging from sherbet to mint cookie, cookies and cream, apricot, strawberry, and all the typical flavors you’d expect. The service was wonderful. The staff here may not understand much or any English at all but they do seem genuinely invested that you have a pleasant dining experience with them.
