This food truck often parks outside my workplace, and, for someone who is trying to lose weight, it’s not a good thing! They are VERY hard to resist. Just about everyone raves about the Rocket Shrimp, and rightfully so. They are crispy, sweet and spicy. Serving size is plenty, though you’ll want more and more! As tasty as the Space Crustaceans are, my go-to is the combo tacos-fish and shrimp. Tortillas are always fresh and warm, and the blackened shrimp are big and juicy. Lime sour cream is a delicious topper.

Be prepared to wait because it’s a popular food truck, but it is definitely worth it. I highly recommend the rocket shrimp taco — it has a little kick to it. The fish taco is sweet in comparison and complements the rocket shrimp nicely. I’ve also tried the blackened shrimp taco, which was also delicious. Tip: ask for extra rocket sauce so you can dip your fries!

Being close to our office, several of us walked over today in Hoover. This was my first experience with their food and certainly will not be the last. The Shrimp Po Boy was absolutely fantastic. The shrimp were cooked just right and the sauce they use was very flavorful. I had kettle chips for a side. The chips were crisp and flavorful with the salt and pepper seasoning. Definitely worth recommending to someone thinking about trying it.

This is a food truck that I’ll seek out. I’ve had the following from them: shrimp po boy, crab cake sliders, fish n chips, fish taco, and rocket shrimp. All have been fantastic! Having said that, my favorite is definitely the rocket shrimp.

Simply awesome. They catered our recent Operators event. Their food was outstanding and their service was impeccable. The owner Rayford went out of his way to make our event one of the best we ever had. Over 90 people were well fed and very happy with not one single complaint only rave reviews. These people were from all over the US and they all loved the food. I want to say Thank you to Rayfod and all his staff for going above and beyond for us. You have to try the rocket shrimp and the fish absolutely amazing!

Got the fish & shrimp 2 taco«meal». The portion size was so slight that I almost returned it. The prices to belly ratio here is so off that sadly I won’t return. Had the fish & chips previously which were some what better. A thorough«meh» from me.

As a working girl who NEVER goes out to lunch and also who 2 months ago made the decision to stop eating all meat besides fish and seafood I was excited that Off The Hook would be parked at my place of business. I love the food truck philosophy and culture :) I got the fish taco and kettle chips. The service was fast and friendly. The fish taco, for $ 4 could have had a little bit more fish(maybe mine was just a fluke). But it was tasty. The flour tortilla was not warm and neither was the fish. The pineapple salsa was good but I detected a hint of cilantro(of which I am not a fan) but it wasn’t so much that it made me dislike the salsa. The chips were cold and a bit hard but otherwise tasty. I don’t like putting the napkin and fork UNDERNEATH the food. For $ 6 it was a good lunch and I will try their food again :) ps: I tried to take a photo but my phone was acting up and I was hungry.

Off the Hook, they got their name right, their food is truly off the hook! Had their rocket shrimp at the Food Truck rally a few weeks ago and today I had their Lobster and Shrimp roll. The Lobster roll is made with the true authentic roll, which they say they bring in from Atlanta and an «overflowing» of Lobster and Shrimp in a nice Mayo based sauce. Not overly seasoned and with a little kick. I enjoyed the Rocket Shrimp as well and with either dish I would not change a thing. They visit various places around downtown Birmingham and I keep up with their whereabouts on Facebook. Give them a try you will not be sorry!

I first tried this place while I was grabbing a beer at Cahaba Brewing company and I was blown away. It is by far my favorite food truck in Birmingham. The food is incredibly fresh and tasty. The owner and chef personally delivered our food to us and talked with us about the food truck and the ingredients. He seemed very passionate about his job and the quality of the food. I had the fish taco which were SO good and since I have had the shrimp po boy which was also very delicious. I tell everyone to try this place. You will not be disappointed.

I stopped by here this past weekend with my girlfriend after we noticed the truck sitting across from the Avondale brewery. I can’t say that we were really hungry(which was a shame) but we still decided to check it out as we love food trucks. as soon as we smelled the food, we knew that we had to get something and ultimately decided on the shrimp taco. While we were waiting the few minutes for our food, we also talked with the chef/owner. he seemed like a nice guy and was enthusiastic about us taking some pictures and adding him to Unilocal. From that i could tell that he would stand by what he served you. The taco came in a soft tortilla with a a good sauce and was full of shrimp. The taco was excellent with the shrimp being the star as it ought to have been. The breading on the outside was crispy while the shrimp itself was great and cooked perfectly. The sauce on it also gave it the perfect spice, just enough so that you could taste it at the end with it lingering in your mouth. My girlfriend also really enjoyed the taste of it. The bottom line for me is that i would definitely stop by here again if I saw the truck. I only wish that I had been hungrier as I did catch a glimpse of the shrimp po boys and was almost drooling over them!
