Nice place. Good beer and spirit selection. Good is good but would like more healthier options. Good atmosphere, music and sports in tv.

We didn’t get any food, but we did have drinks and play a LOT of arcade games! Pros: 1. THEGAMES. I played Frogger for two hours. Awesome games. All the necessary classics: Galaga, Dig Dug, Donkey Kong, The Simpsons, Street Fighter 2, Mortal Kombat 3, NFL Blitz, etc. 2. Good beers. We didn’t try any cocktails or food, but they had a great beer selection! Cons: 1. CROWDED. All I wanted to do was some Galaga, but I couldn’t even get near the machine! 2. Crowded.

Love the atmosphere, the games, the service, everything. The real kicker for this 5 star review is their fries. Holy Batman these are the best bar fries in town.

I am quite a bit behind on this place, but have had a couple recent experiences here, and just love it. The atmosphere is very cool, and sociable. It makes for a fun night out with friends. The staff seems pretty calm, professional and good. The food is really high quality bar food. The wings are excellent(fall off the bone) and I love the grilled cheese. Drinks: Awesome and reasonably priced. This is one of the gems of downtown Birmingham, and of our towns renaissance. Plus, what can be bad about a place where one can play Galaga, as well as Skee Ball. Thank you.

I have been to this location quite a lot as it is a unique spot with great entertainment. First of all they have a pretty good selection of drinks available that you won’t get tired of. They have some daily specials, but I am unsure off the top of my head what they are other than the $ 5 Moscow Mule! Make sure you try the Key Lime Pie shot… amazing. Back to it… This is a chill spot with arcade games all throughout the location with the majority of them in the back room. It can get pretty busy on the weekend and there sometimes is hardly any room to move around. I haven’t met a person that does not like this bar! Parking is the biggest issue as there is only street parking and those go quick. Your best option would be to use one of the nearby parking decks or pay for parking lots. Either way once you get into the bar you won’t regret it. I suggest bringing lots of quarters because the games will keep you going for a while! Atmosphere = A = Relaxed mix of people. Hipsters, business casual, you name it everyone comes here. Service = A = Someone will be there waiting to take your order! Cleanliness = A = No issues that I can see Location = A = Downtown nearby other local hot spots Parking = C = Good luck finding parking on just about any night. My recommendation would be to use the parking deck or pay for park nearby. I wish they had a valet service. Price = A = Expect a $ 10 food item

Whether you’re meeting friends after work for a happy hour drink, grabbing dinner or bar hopping late night, Paramount is an excellent option. This is a gastropub with very good burgers and a rotating selection of unique appetizers. A very solid selection of beers on tap(with the option to buy pitchers) with some big TVs spread throughout also make it an ideal spot for watching any sporting event. There’s also an arcade if you feel like wasting some quarters on skeeball. Service have always been pretty consistent here in my experience. One of the very best«after work» spots Birmingham has to offer.

What a great place to watch the game. It is small so expect to wait unless you get here early. The food is great. I had the hot chicken sammich. It is HOT. SO, if you can’t stand the heat– don’t order. The Italian Stallion was juicy, flavorful and a hit. Shoestring fries, sweet potatoes chips, onion rings, etc are served ala carte. We also tried the so simple salad. Great taste, but Order the dressing on the side. An impressive beer menu is available. Enjoy local brews as well as cans, pitchers, etc. Great prices. Parking can be a little tricky in the downtown area.

Beer selections super good, local brews and great variety. I ate the Italian Stallion and boy was it good! A pork meatloaf sandwich on ciabatta bread. It was outstanding. Crowded for game, but casual and they had sound on overhead which was fun! Would certainly try it again. My wife ate hot chicken sandwich, it was too hot for her. The half that I received was good but habanero was slightly too warm for this sandwich. Really enjoyed my visit though!

I just inhaled the grilled cheese sandwich and tomato soup. They were both DELICIOUS! This place also had a great beer and pinball selection. Seems like an awesome place to come to with some friends to just hang out and grab dinner. Eager to come back someday and see how much the city has changed.

Sooooo, I’m a pretty big fan of this place! The drinks are strong and the food is good! What more can you ask for? They have a pretty cool arcade setup near the back and a pretty cool sitting area outside. Definitely, looking forward to trying the other options on the menu!

We came here to watch football and enjoy some drinks on a Saturday night, and we had a good experience. The atmosphere is pretty good– not too crazy, but not quiet. We loved the arcade they have in the back! One small issue we had was that the staff didn’t seem very welcoming or friendly. Not that they were rude or anything, but our bartender just kinda seemed«too cool» or uninterested in his job. He would look off into the distance seemingly annoyed when we were trying to order or ask questions. Overall, a pretty good experience, and I recommend going and checking it out. They had some great local brew options, and you definitely have to check out the arcade.

If you are looking for a great date spot… THISISTHEPLACETOGO!!! The burgers were awesome, the fries were killer… and the prices didn’t kill me either. Cheap, fun, and the food is super awesome.

What a great place downtown. From the diverse crowd good drinks and game room. Very cool vibe and has a patio for nice days. Food is okay… I normally come here for the drinks. Staff is friendly and knowlegable. Plenty of tv’s to watch your favorite sporting events.

Although it can be crowded at peak times, this is one of our favorite hangouts downtown. I love the atmosphere inside, with the industrial look that they have going on. The game room in back also looks like a lot of fun, but has been a bit too crowded the last few times we went. I love that they have bourbon flights that include skee ball or other game tickets! Check them out when it’s rainy outside, and you can pick up a very tasty dark and stormy for only $ 5. They also offer $ 6 sidecars all day Saturday… and they are delicious. In addition to the awesome craft cocktails, they offer some delicious food as well. The burger and rosemary fries… delicious! Most definitely a must visit if you haven’t checked them out yet!

A few friends suggested we meet here for drinks one evening after work. I got there around 4:45, and only a few people were at the bar. I grabbed a table, and was immediately greeted and asked for my drink selection by one of the waiters. He explained the drink and food specials for happy hour. He was super pleasant while I waited for the rest of the crew to arrive. I did not have food there, but a friend had the wing basket, and he said they were pretty good. I noticed the Alabama hummus made with boiled peanuts. I will be back to try that! It was pretty quite the night we were there… I’m guessing the rain probably kept people from coming out. Not the fault of Paramount ;)

(Décor) sufficient TVs for sports, tall ceilings, comfortably sized bar to avoid crowding, huge windows to view city, 2nd large area in back for classic video arcade games & another bar (Service) No issues, genuinely friendly, attentive (Food & drank) try the lemon pepper wings and/or the great balls of fire… neither will disappoint, wet your whistle w/any one of their Bourbon cocktails or a sidecar, check out chalkboard for specials on drinks (Parking) you’re in the city so its hit or miss depending on the day and time I can’t wait to go back to visit the arcade section!

I visited a friend in Birmingham over the weekend and we went to Paramount for lunch. I guess it can be called a sports bar because there are a lot of TVs but it wasn’t as rowdy as some sports bars can be. I ordered a traditional daiquiri(rum, limes, and sugar), and it was made perfectly. Whoever the bartender is on Saturday during the late afternoon is awesome. For food, I ordered the fried risotto balls; I think they are called«Great Balls of Fire» but I’m not sure. They are bite-sized balls of creamy risotto with a little bacon, jalapeño and something else. They are delicious and not spicy. As someone who eats spicy food often, these went down easy. I also ordered the Southern hot dog with pimento cheese and chow chow. The hot dog was a hot mess(see photo) but it was very, very good although I was hoping for a spicier chow chow. Overall, two thumbs up. This is a place I would visit again and definitely a great go-to for a quick meal if you’re in downtown Birmingham on a weekend. It’s also one of the few places that are open; B-ham’s downtown is almost a ghost town. Unilocal 100 #55

Paramount is a great bar with fabulous burgers and sandwiches. The drinks are fantastic. There’s a 2nd and 20th drink that’s my favorite. The bar has games in the back that you’ll definitely enjoy. Everything from pinball machines to ms pac man to driving games. I encourage you to go and have a fun time. Save a drink for me

Did someone say arcade games, great burgers, and beer? Yes please! This place is a whole night of entertainment rolled up into a single building. Even if I’m not hungry I always at least get an order of their fries. They are thin and amazing and come with this garlicky dipping sauce that is to die for. Wash it all down with one of their local or regional craft beers on tap and I am one happy girl. PS– they have free ski and/or pinball on Tuesday and Wednesday nights!

What a fun joint! Is it a tad on the trendy side? Perhaps, but I believe that feel will pass as the place ages and more customers find this great spot. Basically, it is Chuck E Cheese for adults, and that is a good thing. The service was prompt, friendly and knowledgeable. I loved when we asked for mint juleps that the bartender smiled and said sure I can make that. And they were delicious. We had some very tasty fries, and I am looking forward to returning to try some other delicious looking menu items. The game room is like a time machine to the mall arcade, which was never this cool. I love seeing adults laugh like kids and enjoy being free from worries. Paramount does all that… I will say I did feel the need to have big bangs with a crunchy ponytail when playing Ms Pac Man. Can’t wait to go back!
