This location is closed. Gone. History. I gather this is related to their reported«merger» with Octane.

This place rates highly on my coffee geekness. The espresso is some of the best I’ve had compared to some of the coffee heavy hitters I’ve sampled across the country. I first tried their coffee at Urban Standard and was very impressed with the espresso shots. The espresso had a fine balance of complex flavors and aromas without being over the top. I bought some french roast beans to try at home and enjoyed those as well. Birmingham is lucky to have such high quality coffee serving the community.

Love the atmosphere in this place, it’s just so cosy and welcoming. Fantastic coffee and the food is good as well. Love coming here to chill and chat with friends. I have tried the beans at home and they were also very good.

Really good. I was visiting the area, and always like to try out the small independents. My latte was excellent. Quiet place, internet. Plenty of seating. Had an excellent pastry. Nice guys. Exactly what I was looking for.

Love the locally roasted coffee Brett has created! This is such a convenient spot for us to grab coffee for road trips, and its the only bean we want for our lattes at home! Sad that they are moving, but happy it is partnered up with Octane and will continue to expand in the Southeast. Would love if someone would keep the original Primavera alive in Cahaba Heights!!!

Fantastic espresso, lattes, and cappuccino. Definitely not a sit down and enjoy place. Get your drinks to go then get out. Amazing drinks though!

I decided to venture away from the convenient Urban Standard in downtown Bham to the Primavera, the local roaster where Urban apparently buys the bulk coffee. i’m all about supporting some locals anyway. The place was tiny and somewhat uncomfortable. I met a friend for coffee since I was in the Cahaba area and just did not feel there was enough space in the space to have an catch-up conversation. It was way to crammed. On top of that, the hipster barrister had a nasty attitude and obviously did not want to work. There was one other customer there while I waited for my friend, and I did not feel relaxed at all. Unfortunately, I went twice in one week to give the place another chance since I was rotating at a clinic close to there, and same old crabby hipster barrister was there :(I was told that he’s generally always there. Joy *not* As to the amazing coffee, yes it can be amazing, but eh, not so much. For all the coffee lovers who like to drink their coffee dark, I suppose the taste is very smooth. I never enjoy my coffee black and generally use skim milk. At these places(Urban & Primavera), they only make half-n-half available unless you specifically request other option. I try not to be a hassle, so I opt for the half-n-half available to splurge a lil bit. Well, coming back to my senses, esp. at the rude barrister, I requested my skim milk and the coffee was just ordinary Folgers with a heavy price tag. I believe the secret to all that delicious heaven was half-n-half. It just has a buttery deliciousness to it. Yep, clogging my arteries one half-n-half at a time. I guess I really should have stuck to my guns and asked for skim milk for the get-go instead of falsely thinking that the coffee had such a distinctive taste. Overall, I’ll have a Primavera cup of coffee when I go back to Urban every so often, but not making any effort to go to the local source with a crabby barrister.

I was visiting Alabama for a week from CT when my boyfriend and I decided to try out Miss Myra’s BBQ. In the same parking lot as Miss Myra’s is Primavera, and I am so glad we stopped in. The coffee there is by far the best I have ever had, it was 2.00 for a small cup, and worth every penny. As a lover of coffee I was surprised to find a fantastic, fair trade coffee with a rich and bold flavor at this small café. They roast their own beans here, and if you love coffee and a friendly, artsy atmosphere, you HAVE to visit!

A pleasant surprise to find such a knowledgeable and passionate roaster in such an unlikely location — I’m thrilled to have found this place!

The best coffee in Alabama. Period. Hand roasted and tasted. Knowledgeable and friendly. My friends who have gone in to buy me coffee will ask Brett(owner) and he knows exactly my bean preferences(Ethiopian Harar). This is terrific customer service. Primavera Coffee is a Birmingham treasure.

Excellent coffee! Hardcore coffee nerds who run a simple place focused on good coffee. When I am in town I always get an espresso and a couple of bags to take home.

One of the best coffees I’ve had. I usually drink my coffee with soy milk and I won’t do Primavera coffee any justice if I don’t drink it black!

The best coffee in the Magic City is here, and believe me, I’ve tried them all. My friend Mel, who is a cream & sugar girl, gives their coffee the ultimate compliment of drinking it black. If you’re downtown in Birmingham, get Primavera coffee at the very-cool Urban Standard.
