Owners have changed. I been there several times with the new owners but not quite the same. New owners are great people and I would still support this place over The other Chinese place across the street.
Yes, that’s Hunan Cuisine.
One thing I ask is to clean the restaurant. Place feels sticky everywhere because of the grease. Take out is what I mostly do.

The egg drop soup is amazing, portions are large and the staff there is very very nice. They’ll even deliver to you if its not very very far. It has become the #1 Chinese place we order from out of the 5 around us. I’ve never dined in so I can’t say anything about that experience.

Not the best experience. Staff was friendly but General Tsos wasn’t great at all. Seemed like I got someone’s old sweet and sour chicken with General Tsos sauce dumped on it. Tons of breading that was super soggy and barely edible. White rice was good and so was the fortune cookie. Was hoping for a lot more after reading the reviews.

Great place to go for lunch or dinner! Awesome prices and delicious food! This is a hidden gem. I suggest the sweet and sour soup and their egg rolls there amazing. I always get the house rice and ask for it spicy :) it comes with shrimp, chicken and steak; you can’t go wrong it’s delicious!

Great lunch specials. Mongolian chicken was fresh and the service was very quick. The owners are very nice and friendly. Some of the best Chinese in town!

As far as your typical carry out Chinese, this place is one of the best.
Their fried and steamed rice are both very good, as is their Honey Chicken.
The lady who works there can seem a bit unfriendly/​harsh, but I think it’s just her personality, so don’t take it personally. She’s pleasant, just all business.
So if you’re around, give it a try. I find it to be much better than the other Chinese place right across 280.

Cashew Shrimp
Sweet and Sour Shrimp
Prompt service and cooked to order meals is what was delivered. The cashew shrimp was way too salty for my taste, though. The shrimp tasted fresh while the vegetables tasted as if from frozen. Rice was only okay and pretty sparsely made. I saw no vegetables or meat and only one small bit of egg in this fried rice. The egg roll was good as was the sweet and sour sauce, but not special.
My wife indicated that some of her shrimp was still frozen in the center.
This is an acceptable restaurant, but not one we would go to again. There are just too many restaurants I have never tried even once to go back to one that is mediocre.

Send time I’ve tried to post a review. The first reviewer needs to go give it another try! Rice Lovers was recommended to me by my physical therapist when I was on 280. My husband and I went for lunch the following day. Everything was so fresh! Really some of the best Chinese I have had in Birmingham in a long time. Use to go to The Great Wall for years and then Hunan Cusine on 280 has been a top favorite, but this was really good!

This was the worse garbage I’ve ever eaten. Crab Ragoon at $ 6 was nothing more than stale cream cheese. Ordered sesame chicken… received sweet and sour. Disgustingly… it must have been siting out since Thursday. Don’t waste your time going to this rat hole!
