Safelite AutoGlass

A bad weekend turned into a terrible Monday, Safelite made sure of it.
The front glass of my vehicle was vandalized Sunday afternoon. The insurance company steered me to Safelite. Speaking with the Safelite salesman, he said that they could schedule me for 1pm. I agreed and arrived at 12:55pm. I had stated during the entire process that I had to leave by 2:45 pm.
At 1:05 pm I witnessed the first glass technician slowly arrive back from lunch. It was 1:12 before another one arrived. Yet, no one had come to collect my keys. At 1:21 another worker leisurely strolled in from lunch. Now, I was aggravated. At 1:30, the office «manager» told me that they couldn’t do it that day and wanted me to reschedule. I told them that there would be no rescheduling and left.
Safelite wants your business, as long as it is convenient for them.

Took my Ford Focus in for a new Windshield. Left Safelite happy in under an hour and for less than quoted $$. The staff was super nice and thats the only reason for not giving one star.
The next time I drove my car (three days later; it was in garage in the meantime), it started raining. My windshield wipers went up but never came down — they got stuck in the up position; incredible I could not see and had to pull over luckily avoiding an accident. I finally made it home and called Safelite’s 800 number who informed me I would have to leave a message for warranty.
I left that message for Warranty and never had a return phone call — Incredible… So we took the car back to Safelite and they fixed the windshield; one technician stated…“those new Fords are such a pain” and the manager avoided me as I sought some sort of compensation for this trouble.
In the end, the windshield appears fine now and the 2^nd tech was terrific, cleaning up a small scratch I noticed and stated he needed to reset the winshield that is now working fine.
I usually dont write negative reviews — the good are the customer service staff; however the issue with the wipers could have caused a big accident and did cause a big inconvenience with no compensation offered. The warranty department’s non response is also very troubling. I hope service improves at the Birmingham, AL location soon.

I don’t know what happened with all of the other people, but my experience was great. I don’t know how it could have been any better. I setup an appointment time for my windshield to be completely replaced at my work parking lot while I worked away inside. It was super simple and streamlined. The guy did a great job, and my new windshield is beautiful. I only had to pay $ 200 bucks and the car insurance took care of the rest. I don’t think it’s much more than $ 200 anyways, but I’ll take what I can get.
So convenient and efficient. The installation was perfect. The process was painless, and I couldn’t have asked for more.

Ok, so where shall I start… The front office guy is a real jerk. The customer service at the front sucks!!! Had my windshield replaced after some road debris and everything was fine until it rained and the windshield started to leak. Not enough adhesive applied to create a seal. No prob Safelite offers a lifetime warranty so they will fix the leak. The tech, Stephen is a really really nice guy and is the ONLY one there with any kind of customer service skills whatsoever. So for that he gets 5 stars. The only reason Safelite gets 2 stars is because I highlighted 2 stars by mistake. So use them at your own risk and make sure you get a good look at the tech that fixes your windshield. And hey, front office guy close the little window you’re provided. People can hear you talk shit… Thanks to a fellow Unilocaler I was able to change the 2 stars to one!

I’d give them less than a star if I could. This place is horrible. They scammed my friend — she went in to get a window replaced and they put a crack in her windshield (which was fine beforehand, she just needed to have a back window replaced after having her car broken into) in order to swindle her into buying a new one. Anywhere that would scam someone who was already in a vulnerable state like that is not worth anyone’s time or money. Avoid this place completely!
