I used Silver Cab for a trip to and from the airport this past week. They were right on time to pick me up and take me to the airport, and this was at 4:45am. They sent me a text to let me know they were on the way and another when they were about to arrive. On my return trip, my flight was delayed several times so I was hesitant to place a reservation since I had no idea when (or if) I would make it back to Birmingham. I called as I was getting off the plane and they had a cab waiting for me before I left the terminal (which was just after midnight). These guys rock!

Called them expecting the typical «it will be 10 mins» while waiting 30 mins for them to show up. Nope — 10 mins meant 10 mins including a call back when the driver was 1 minute out. Friendliest taxi driver with an absolutely infectious laugh. Jordanian by birth, Birmingham resident for 25 years by choice. All in all, a 5 star experience!

I called Silver Cab Company to request a ride from BHM to downtown. I actually found them through a Google search on my phone at the airport after which I immediately called their number. The driver I spoke with was very nice on the phone. I requested to be picked up right away, and I was pleasantly surprised at how soon they came. Major pluses: the driver was friendly, the car was clean, and most importantly (for people like me), they take credit cards (they use Square).

Worst. Scheduled a cab. Called back and reiterated how important it was to be on time because I had a flight. They confirmed time and assured me they had it scheduled right. Didn’t show up.

I’m an Airbnb host and, often, my guests need cab service since public transport can be cumbersome and Über is still a pipe dream. I used to recommend guests to another cab company in town with a firm disclaimer that, unfortunately, they were the best option. Not any more! Silver Cab has won me over: pick-​ups are easy to schedule, they accept credit cards (without any funny business), the drivers are professionals and the cars are clean. It’s a testament to how sucky the other companies in town are that these baselines knock my socks off. Bravo to Silver Cab for finally offering decent cab service in town. I’ll be recommending them to my guests and may even use them for getting to the airport now that I know I won’t be stuck hunting for an ATM while the meter ticks upward.
