I will keep this review short and simple, this place is amazing! Me and a friend went on a Saturday night, and of course it was packed, but we were seated right away. After contemplating on the menu(for what seemed like forever) we finally decided upon the BBQ. This pie comes with smoked brisket, bacon, bbq and cheddar. We washed it down with a «Not your father’s Root beer». Probably the best pizza I’ve ever eaten. The menu has so many unique pizza options, I making it my mission to try every one.

This place is definitely the cutest place ever. If you get a chance def sit outside on the patio. They have heated lamps to keep you warm. As you get seated looking around will just relax you. Come here for wine salad and pizza. I love this place because the patio in the evening is definitely cute and relaxing. I ordered a salad and the pork Pizza. The small salad is actually enough to feed two people and it was very tasty. I truly enjoyed their house salad. The pizza tasted great but we like sauce on our pizza. So we asked the waitress for a side of marinara. She brought out a cold pre packed sauce. We still used it but if your going for presentation a cold package sauce wasn’t the best idea. However overall I enjoyed the food, they weren’t Cheney on the topping or the salad. The service was good and the place was great. I def would come back and next time I will tell them extra sauce on the pizza. If you love pizza and drinks swing buy!

My now 20 year old son and I have been going to Slice since they opened, usually sitting at the bar. We headed there this evening because he was craving the veggie pizza. The restaurant was packed, so we grabbed a couple spots at the bar. We were told that we wouldn’t be able to sit at the bar because he isn’t 21. And this was at 6:30, not 10:00. Not having a minor at the bar later in the evening makes sense, but not at 6:30. We’ll be enjoying our pizza at Post Office Pies from now on. As an update, it was a misunderstanding that has been resolved.

Really enjoyed dinner here on a Friday evening. It was early so the restaurant wasn’t crowded and they still had happy hour deals going. I got a pomegranate Margarita which was really good! I shared an order of the wings with my husband. He thought they were really good but to me they were a little too charred. We opted for a half & half(little piggy and old school). Both were really good and the crust was fantastic. I still prefer Post Office Pies ingredients but their crust doesn’t even come close to being on Slice’s level. This place is for sure at the top of Birmingham’s best pizza list.

Amazing pizza! We got a pizza loaded with goodies, split amongst 3 people, and we devoured the whole thing. I was happy that we were allowed to have half of two different pizza flavors and replace certain ingredients with others for no extra charge. Great service– we had a super deal and accidentally redeemed it before paying for the meal and the manager worked with us to fix the error. The pizza also came very quickly and our drinks were always filled. I’m not from the area but I will be sure to come back next time I’m in Birmingham!

My husband and I are connoisseurs of pizza. Every town we visit we try the best rated pizza joint. The Mexicana was hands down the best pizza we’ve ever had! The crust was perfectly thin and crispy, not at all tough and held its own flavor. Every ingredient blended perfectly together for a symphony of taste. I was truly speechless while eating this. No grease, light, but filling, and perfect cooked. Pizza had been mastered by this restaurant! Also, the warm spinach salad w/bacon and lightly dressed in a vinaigrette was delicious! My husband even loved it and he won’t eat salads w/any type of dressing. We finished are incredible meal w a Nutella cheese cake w/a strawberry champagne sauce… again incredible! The atmosphere and staff added to the experience! Beautiful restaurant! We will be back!

I went with my fiancé on a Saturday night. We ordered the BBQ brisket pizza. And it was heavenly. We sat outside, was a little loud only cause we were sat next to a large group of college hipsters. But it was still a very enjoyable experience. I recommend this place to everyone.

I’ll keep this simple: Awesome pizzas! You really can’t go wrong here. There’s something for everyone, and I had a hard time making up my mind. We ended up getting two completely different pizzas, and they were both great. The service was friendly and attentive. The one thing that sticks in my craw: With so many different pizzas, I really wish they sold slices… you especially because their name is, you know, Slice. Seems like a no-brainer. That took a star away simply because I couldn’t try even more flavors and was limited to the whole pizza. Still, this is a great establishment.

My brother and his wife rang us yesterday at five o’clock and said, «Hey, come have a beer at Slice.» On one hand, it was a little early to be getting out. On the other hand, I’m 53, and the AARP keeps sending me junk mail. Hey, at least we weren’t driving to Morrison’s at 4:30 to take advantage of the senior’s Early Bird Discount, so we said, «Why not?» Evidently, the rest of the geezer crowd had the same idea because the place was packed when we arrived. We were reduced to sitting at the bar while the rest of the mob complained about sciatica or how woefully easy their grandchildren had it in life. The bar itself had a ton of selections. All kinds of local brews, plus the standards shipped in from around the country. The beer menu was extensive while the draft selections were written up on a chalkboard on the other side of the room. Evidently, my bifocal contacts are a trice underpowered, because I had to hobble over to see what my options were and then hobble back to give the barkeep my order. Speaking of, the guys at the bar were incredibly nice and attentive for a bunch of young whippersnappers. About six o’clock my wife decided that she was hungry(Again, we really do eat later than this, but she only had a bowl of chicken soup for lunch). So we ordered the barbecue pizza. Yum. We stayed until about 7:00, complaining about the government and looking for the location of the nearest bingo parlor, when the next generation of customers surged in the door. Holy cats, the place was packed. Even though we were older than the incoming crowd, there was a satisfying moment of coolness one upsmanship when a twentysomething man ordered four Miller Lites — and wasn’t even ashamed about doing so. The bartender, an amiable guy, momentarily lost his game face. There was a flash of disbelief in his eyes, the kind of look you’d get at Wal-Mart if you strolled up to the service desk and asked where they kept the sex toys. I was kind of interested in hanging out a little longer, but we had polished off a couple of beers apiece and, as we lingered over our empty glasses, were getting pointed looks from the other customers waiting to take our places. Kind of a metaphor for the passing of time if you think about it long enough. So kudos to Slice for great ‘za, a terrific beer selection, bonhomie from the waitstaff, and an excellent meditation on the ephemeral, fleeting nature of life.

Their pizza’s pretty good, but I go here for their dry-rubbed wings. Man. I think they’re marinated in lime juice and fired in the pizza oven. All I know is they’re the best wings I’ve ever had. Decent beer selection. Gets super noisy and packed inside almost every night. Service suffers when they’re busy, but that’s to be expected. Eating outside is nice when the weather cooperates.

This place is great! I stopped by for the first time ever during Winter Restaurant Week with some co-workers and purchased a slice of the piggy pizza. It was so amazing I had to buy one to go. The Caesar salad was awesome, too. I highly recommend and will def. be back. Our server was wonderful as well.

This place takes pizza to a new level. It offers quality, good customer service, and you can’t beat the atmosphere for a pizza place if you ask me here we go with the details: Location: they are located directly beside moes in the Lakeview district. The location is fantastic right in the heart of all the action you don’t have to walk far if you park your car off site. However, they do offer a complimentary valet service on the weekends. I’m not exactly sure about if they offer this during the week but I have only been here on weekends so far
Ambiance: upon arrival you will notice a really awesome patio made out of stone offering really cool fire towers with a fireplace. As you go up the steps there is plenty of open seating inside with a bar in the middle. My favorite place to sit is the inside patio that they cover and that will be after you walk in to the left. I needed to take my clients somewhere I feel comfortable that they can have a good time and the atmosphere would still be considered nice it was a Sunday night and I really couldn’t think of many places that were open besides this. I’m happy to report they loved it! In fact, they loved it so much that when all four of them came back to town yesterday that’s where they requested to go. The grub and such: The great thing about this place is it will please any palate. They have so many different options of pizza creations that even though there is a create your own area I’m pretty sure one of their ideas on the menu could grab anyone’s attention. Our group had every single area represented from meat lovers to vegetarian and there is one thing that we all have in common… we like it fresh! The first time I personally had the vegetarian pizza option typically, that doesn’t sound too exciting but even my friends who loved the meat option tried it and said that they would personally order it. The crust on all pizzas are typically thin and I have never seen a pizza come out that wasn’t cooked perfectly. Last night while everyone was indulging I tried the raw kale salad. It was so good that I didn’t even want to eat pizza. I will go again just to eat a salad. They offer local beer from the area and make an insanely good pomegranate margarita Customer service: even on a busy night they seem to manage well and each time I have been I haven’t had to sit long before someone it tends to me I really wish I remembered his name but there is one in particular that is almost like a tour guide for pizza and drinks he gets excited about the menu and encourages us to try different things that he thinks we look like after listening to what we enjoy The only thing I would have to say about this place to make it better is a a better lit sign. It’s a little tough to see

I was looking for a great pizza place in Birmingham that served local beer and found this place on Unilocal. This place has four star pizza, but the customer service is two star. Our server was Tate, and Tate was not happy. Tate didnt want to provide a draft beer menu. He said«that’s located on the wall. If you want to see it, get up and stand in everyone’s way to read it.» There was a board that other servers were bringing to tables, but Tate wasn’t interested in that. I asked for a sample of the draft beer since we are not familiar with the local brews, but Tate said, «no we don’t do samples.» I asked him to recommend a local brew. Tate said he doesn’t know, but he knows they have a red rye that’s a special. I ordered that one. It was OK, but if I would have sampled it I would not have bought it. Next I asked of they had Avondale Vanillaphant Porter on tap. He said, «No, we have it in a can.» «Could I try a draft Porter then? «» No samples! «said Tate. So I went to read the board. I got the swamper porter which was good, but not great. At this point my entire group no longer wanted to stay here to drink beer so we decided to go ahead and give the pizza a try and then head to Avondale Brewery where they have great customer service, allow free samples, and have fantastic beer! The stone oven pizza was perfect! The BBQ pizza was excellent. The brisket was tender and the BBQ sauce was a sweet sauce that made everything perfect. The crust was thin and perfect. The old school was fantastic with plenty of old school toppings that made this pie awesome. This place has solid pizza! However, providing a couple of samples of beer to a customer shouldn’t be an issue. Having a draft beer menu that a customer can view is a must. Yes, they make beer recommendations with each pizza, but not everyone wants that type of beer. The great selling point of serving local beers is allowing the customer to try them. If a customer requests an IPA, the server should know the best seller and any other IPA’s that are on tap. If a server comes to work and has poor customer service, you should send them home because you are going to lose business and lose repeat business.

I go here specifically for their BBQ brisket pizza and their wings. If those were the only two things on their menu, I’d be happy, but luckily for you there are tons of yummy options. I’ve also had their white pizza which was fantastic. Their service isn’t stellar, but what they lack in customer service they make up for in delicious food. They have plenty of TVs on their side patio if watching the game while eating is your thing!

I’ve never started a review with the parking situation before, but I must say, Bravo Slice! While there still isn’t enough for everyone, it’s a far better parking offering than everywhere else in the area. 5 stars on food quality as well. The Little Piggy was a little too salty, but that just comes with the territory with that much pork. The staff very kindly set up an amazing outdoor seating area for us, lit with many heat torches in anticipation of us bringing a dog with us. Well done all the way around!

I must admit, I’m a die-hard Post Office Pies fan so when my roommates wanted to try out this place I was slightly skeptical. We decided to sit out on the side patio which gave us more privacy than sitting out on the front deck. We ordered a pie with pineapple, pepperoni, and jalapenos and I have to admit it was really pretty good. You definitely can’t compare it to Post Office Pies, because they both have completely different pizza styles. Slice has more of a light pizza with a thinner crust and(for lack of a better word) less greasy toppings. All in all, I really enjoyed this spot and would love to come back for dinner with a bigger group. I looked over their menu a bit as well and they had some pretty funky appetizers and what looked like a nice assortment of beers. Can’t wait to give this place a try again!

Call me boring, but I’m the kind of person who loves when basic things are done right. Slice did not disappoint with its well done«Basic Pesto.» The Alabama goat cheese, for instance, was on point! Not too overpowering, but still rich enough to add a little something to the pizza. The house sausage was also delicious. The two of us were both pretty hungry, so we split a pie and it was enough to be comfortably full without getting into food coma mode(I think it was something like 4 smallish slices each between two people). Overall, really good thin crust pizza! Outdoor seating was great – we sat on the back patio and it was quiet and peaceful(I always appreciate when I can hold a conversation over a meal without shouting over loud music like I’m at a High School Dance). I’ll definitely be back to try their beer offerings, which I missed out on last time. I’m especially curious about the Spicy Hawaiian, The Lakeview, the Mexicali, and the Chilton pizzas! Definitely stop by when you’re in Lakeview and want an easy, delicious meal.

Slice was good! I will probably go back. I believe my last trip was for better for whatever reason. We had four pies. The BBQ, The Spicy Hawaiian, The Chilton & the Lakeview. I had three heathens with me that wolfed most everything down before I could get a good helping of each. My beer selection this trip wasn’t on., I kept missing. I’ll have to get a reset.

From the basic pepperoni to the wilder peach and pork, this is really, really fantastic pizza. Each ingredient was expertly chosen and really stands out without overpowering another ingredient. The crust is chewy on the inside and crispy on the outside. The s’more calzone is a super rich, super mmmm tasty treat. Note: it does taste fairly pizza-y because the crust is normal pizza crust. But as a salty+sweet lover, I enjoyed this part. I’d return just for the pizza, however, the 5th star is for service and seating. Every host and server was upbeat, friendly, and knowledgeable of their menu and specials and were able to give honest recommendations from that. Although the ambiance is nothing special, the seating is ample so I didn’t feel crowded, even on the patio. Yes, the prices are high. But the portions are large and quality ingredients cost money. Worth it.
