Bought a .380 pocket pistol about 2 weeks ago. Ken Chaney waited on me, and could not have been nicer. Their price beat BPW by about $ 20. They have a very extensive inventory of guns and are grouped together by manufacturer in clean glass display cases. They are very knowledgeable about the guns they sell, and are happy to show you anything you want to see. I left there feeling very good about my purchase, very good about the way I was treated, and will definitely do business there again.

I went to Grabow(who was having a Smith & Wesson sale), BPW, and even shopped online and Southeastern Guns still had the lowest price on my S&W Bodyguard(bought it new for $ 309). last year I got an immaculate used AR-15 with 24″ floating barrel, nikon M223 with sunshade, magpul PRS stock, bipod, and other internal upgrades for $ 950. Sold it a week later for $ 1,300 and have regretted it ever since. Bought a few other guns in the past from them and even though they don’t remember me, I’ve only ever been treated well there. Even if I don’t buy. Great guys

I would like to say thank you to Southeastern Guns; I feel I was treated with respect, my questions were answered and I made a purchase I am pleased with. I feel I have been treated poorly or totally ignored in other local gun stores because I am female, this was definitely not the case here. The store has a great selection, is clean, has a nice layout and the salesman were friendly. I would not hesitate to return to Southeastern Guns in the future should the need arise.

This store should be avoided for the most part. The staff is pretty unfriendly, the selection isn’t that great, and prices are not very competitive. I think I’ve been here 4 or 5 times. I’ve even purchased a Beretta 92FS here a few years ago. The staff likes to sit on their asses like the gun store is a social club. The sales are a little high pressure; I’m pretty sure they are working on commission which I cant stand. They really aren’t all that nice or helpful. I’m not saying every employee is an ass, but I’ve seen better. The selection isn’t that great. Its a pretty small store, so obviously they don’t have the space to provide a selection like Hoover Tactical Firearms or Birmingham Pistol Wholesale. Worst of all, the prices are pretty terrible. I’ve directly compared prices between Southeastern Guns and Birmingham Pistol Wholesale, and even Academy Sports and Outdoors… The prices are terrible. I’m not sure if they are negotiable or not, but if they are, Id rather not deal with the hassle anyway. I stop by when I’m bored sometimes to see if there is anything interesting. Otherwise, I avoid Southeastern Guns. They aren’t very nice, the selection is poor, and the prices are terrible.

Southeastern Guns has always been a conundrum for me… their selection is excellent, their store is clean, and their prices are reasonable(at least for local sellers… you can usually find far better prices on the internet). Sounds like a good store? It would be, if the service was better. There’s a tendency for gun store employees to be smug, or act like know-it-alls… I’m accustomed to that. These guys ratchet the dial up to 11 though… they’re condescending to the point of being parody. I can still make myself shop there… if I need something, they aren’t bad enough that I’m going to punish myself to spite them. But I’d rather go to Simmons any day.

I am an avid gun user and compeition shooter. I admit that I don’t know everything. But the salesman treated me poorly. He even walked away to go play with his friends. I went in with intention of spending a few thousand dollars and did not. I felt belittle and that my business was not needed. I have a far reach in the local shooting community. My review will be shared and I will recommend going to another store. The prices didn’t appear bad but the service is horrible. If it wasn’t for the owner coming in trying to clean up as he saw the sales man in action I would have given a 1 star. I would avoid these guys especially if you don’t know what you want. Go somewhere they are willing to educate you and not just make a sell. Try Simmons in Bessemer.
