K.F.C. While I contemplatively chewed my undercooked tandoori chicken, these three letters continually ran through my mind as I reminded myself that my bland chicken could not be the worst out there. (That would be KFC) Having eaten Indian food throughout my childhood I’ve developed an appreciation for the strong spices and rich flavors of the cuisine. And I will say that the samosas were some of the best I’ve ever had. But(alas) you can’t review a restaurant solely based on its appetizers. And aside from a refreshing and well spiced(though uncomfortably thin) mulligatawny soup, my meal was lackluster to say the least. In conclusion, there is infinitely better Indian food to be had and there is also worse. If you’re in Birmingham and craving something more intriguing than chain brands like Panera and Cosi, you might as well come here. It was a decidedly«eh» experience, but no harm was done.

They have really increased the number of vegetarian dishes in the lunch buffet and I am so thankful!!! They are amazing dishes as well :) love the eggplant, tofu, paneer and mixed veggies!

I was a little hesitant because they were empty while nearby competitors were packed. However, a sign for $ 10.99 lunch buffet was too much to resist. This is, by far, the best value in Birmingham and it’s in the middle of downtown. They offer perfect naan along with great tandoori, curry, and other common Indian dishes.

Updated review — please also read my old one. My husband & I moved further away from here and have tried several Indian places… Literally NOTHING compares to this place. Their food is so flavorful and delicious. I’m lactose intolerant and I never have stomach issues. Everything is soooo good. If I had ANY complaints — it would be that they give such a small amount of rice and that their prices might be better if they were $ 2-$ 3 cheaper for dishes. I still can’t complain because I love this place. I will be driving far out to come here for Indian food because I had awful experiences elsewhere.

This place deserves a lot more than the average 3.5 stars it has right now. Even though we arrived 1hr before they closed for the day, the service was very attentive and courteous. The food was amazing!!! Definitely recommend you to order the Chicken Pakora. The chicken was juicy and tender! Best chicken I have ever had; period. Can’t wait to come back to this little gem in town!

This restaurant probably deserves 3 stars for its buffet; however, there were several factors that made this an unpleasant lunch. 1. The restaurant opens at 11:30 on weekdays, I walked in at 12:10 and the buffet wasn’t ready yet(specifically, there were no rice dishes). 2. There was no soap refilled in the bathroom. 3. The temperature control of the entrees was really off. The curries were scalding hot. 4. There was a person in uniform walking around the restaurant spraying pesticide or something around all the dining areas. Why would you spray down a place during prime dining hours? Very unappetizing… As someone who has lived in Ann Arbor the past four years, I can confidently say the quality, taste, and selection at this lunch buffet is poor when compared against Raja Rani or Taste of Suvai. I was drawn in by the $ 8.99 buffet but would’ve preferred spending it elsewhere. Their takeout might be better… but I don’t plan on trying it.

I would give this place another name«Taste of India» on top of «Touch of India». Reason is simple: their food serves you with both touch and taste. Menu options range from varieties of veg/non veg appetizers and main entrees. You could choose from samosas, pakoras to chicken stuffed items in the appetizers, and order from roti/naans/parathas, tadka dal, paneer dipped curries, chicken tikka masala, butter chicken, chicken tandoori to decent extent of dry vegetable curries such as okra, cabbage, potato, cauliflower… They also hv options of biryanis(veg/egg) plus some dessert items at the end(though never tried) but I am sure those would be great too. P. S. They host everyday buffet too I guess ranging from $ 10−12… So all in all, I would give this place concrete four stars!!!

Maybe I’m spoiled by Meghas Athidi at 15 and Dequindre but next to that, this place would get a 2, really. but I bumped up a star only because they were open on Labor Day! the quality of the food was alright, but the taste was lacking… I ordered a vegetable makhani, and they added paneer. I’m not familiar with their menu but I know that other Indian restaurants separate these two into two dishes; you can choose from vegetable makhani or paneer makhani, but they fused them here.(side note: I hate paneer!) My sister and friend didn’t like their food either, so we were left with a unsatisfactory feeling. Also I feel like I was charged extra but don’t know why. The take out should’ve been under $ 36, but somehow it was $ 49 for three dishes!

We ordered chicken tikka masala and it tasted like chicken in bland tomato soup! The justification was even smarter– this is the North Indian style. Gosh, if you cannot take negative feedback, that’s tough for your business

Great dinner here. Very tasty and attentive service. The seating was pretty cramped, but I soon forgot about that once we received our meal. Ordered the Paneer Makhani and the Karahi Panner with basmati rice. Delicious! My sister and her husband ordered the naan bread, saag Panner and Lamb curry. They seemed very happy as well :) I’ll be back!

SERIOUSISSUE I don’t know how to start. I tried to contact with email on their website, info@touchofindiacuisine… they never respond me. Food is good, but there is serious issue about the cook. I had take-out order I got in restaurant kind of early while I was waiting for foods,(I am tall enough to see the kitchen) I saw cook dipping his fingers in the foods and tasting one after another. I wanna tell it right way, but couples table sitting there. I didn’t eat my carry-out food. I wasted my money, hope owner or manager of the place read this and educate his employees GOODLUCK JIM

The lunch buffet is out of this world. Not only is it inexpensive – $ 8.99 per person – but also the quality of the buffet(which can scare most lunch patrons away) is top notch. Everything is warm and clean, from meat dishes to vegetable curries. It also includes fresh Naan and dessert – desserts I haven’t even heard of, like shredded carrot and coconut condensed milk squares or mango mousse. If you like different flavor Naan, go for it here bc the flavoring is on point. Samosas are warm, fluffy, crispy, and stuffed. The curries are not lacking; they are packed with veggies and cheese. I’m so pleased! Indian food is my absolute favorite cuisine and this is the only place I visit when I’m in from NYC! Also, I took my mother here for her first indian meal. We were both pleasantly plumped.

Stopped by when driving home on a Sunday evening. I was pleasantly surprised with the food and the ambience. We ordered Veg Jalfrazi, Fried Rice and Roti. The dishes tasted authentic and had right amount of Masala. The Fried Rice and Raita was also very good. I would definitely make another visit soon.

$ 8.99 per person for buffet lunch. I was having a craving for some Indian cuisine. Why not, let’s do it! The place is hella nice, it’s hella clean and it’s hella convenient. The food is hella fresh as well. Chicken tikka and the chicken curry is my favorite, luckily they had it included in the buffet. Even their vegetarian options are really tasty. The na’an bread is amazing and they keep it coming in the buffet. I went in for two helpings and some desert. The service was great as well. The staff was very attentive and extremely accomodating. Every time we went back for a helping of food, our tables were cleared and ready for the next pig out session. Best part of it is that we got ourselves the Mango Lassi. Sweet milky mangoey goodness of the Indian sweet drink icon. Come here for a good satisfying and tasty lunch. That’s for real! Weeeeeeee! Life is great when the glass is half full. Just okay. We had the lunch buffet, it was fine but only if you’re already in the area. Other places are alot bigger and better in my opinion.

Here we are again. Im really surprised of 5s or 4s for this restaurant ! I drove down the road from Flint to Birmingham to taste the indian food. Since I’m indian food taster i can assure that this restaurant is below average. The food in not fresh, the restaurant it self is not as clean as the other restaurant. I regret that i drove all the way to spend $$ for bad experience. I don’t recommend it and i will not comeback again

If you enjoy Indian cuisine then this is the spot for you! The pricing is great for the meal you get. I have been coming to this location for about a year(I discovered them after my favorite Indian restaurant in Hamtramck was sold). My favorite dish so far is the fish tikka. A few of my favorites include the naan, the vegetable samosa and the vegetable entrees including the Aloo Gobi and Vegetable Jalfrezi. Can’t really go wrong here. The staff is very friendly and attentive. They also have a lunch buffet with a good variety for $ 7.99 and a great dessert and traditional beverage variety. Do try!

Today I had a terrible craving for lentil soup. I called in the middle of the afternoon and my carry out was ready in about 10 minutes. The service was prompt and friendly. The soup was rich and savory. My only Complaint was that is was a bit to garlicky for my taste. However it was still delicious and I made short work of the entire bowl! I will certainly fine there again.

Well I am stuck… I can’t decide if it is 3 or 4 stars. I am rounding up because the people were exceptionally nice. The food was pretty good. Not the best I’ve had, however if you are in Birmingham and in a pinch for Indian food, it is pretty much the only place around. The spicy level is a bit on the mild side for Indian cuisine, but the spices that they use are tasty. The price of $ 8 for the buffet is great, and unlike the other Indian restaurant I go to the place is VERY clean and they use glassware and forks. I did hear a microwave. I don’t know what was heating up but as an avid watcher of the food network I know this is a restaurant no-no. Also there was a worker with a wicked cough… it freaks me out as I have a newborn. I would go back and do the buffet again, maybe next time they’ll have more of my favorites available on the bar.
