This is the real deal… and the raw one! A TEN. The fresh, amazing ingedients… the labor involved in the juicing and pressing… the TASTE. Its a whole different level of healthy eating. The guys seem a little serious and I know they have a lot of knowledge so i wouldn’t mind hearing more from them. We all need to learn more about this type of eating and the value that a place like this brings to a community. TRYIT!!!

I finally stopped by Try It Raw today after wanting to try it for some time. Even though I am not a vegan nor do I only eat raw foods, I was blown away by how good everything was. I got a veggie sandwich which had«bread» made from dehydrated sundried tomatoes and flax seed, sprouts, cucumbers, peppers, olive pesto, and cashew cheese. It came with a raw broccoli slaw that was actually really good; I never eat raw broccoli because it is too earthy for me and I loved the salad. The sandwich was a modest portion(a bit bigger than the palm of your hand) and was $ 12. However, it was really satisfying. A lot of people mention that the prices are high for this place, but being organic and in Birmingham, I find it to be reasonable. I usually take places that call their food«organic» with a grain of salt, but you can see the organic ingredients that they use behind the counter. I definitely will be back.

I have been here many times and I have loved everything I’ve tried. The nachos are delicious and very filling. Sushi rolls are awesome and so are the hand rolls. However, this place is very pricey. There are other places are this area that are much cheaper and taste just as good.

My go to lunch spot in downtown Birmingham. The food is fresh, flavorful and nourishing. The menu is innovative and Mike and Marc are always on point with their suggestions. I recently tried the raw lasagna, a daily special I hope becomes a menu staple. The lasagna was the perfect combination of comforting, classic Italian flavors made fresh and light. Even non vegetarians will enjoy.

Fresh and flavorful food. Thai spicy cabbage salad and broccoli salad so nice. Taco dish is great. Roll with mango my husband loved. Smoothies are recommended also.

Eat here all the time and have rarely been disappointed. I had the lasagna 2 days ago and was very pleased. Good flavor for a raw lasagna. The staff is always accommodating and has always given us good service.

This place needs a capital infusion! Feels like someone’s dated home kitchen not a legitimate business. Not Birmingham at all more like Ferndale. Juices good but very expensive and small. Menu looked very interesting. No vibe here — need music and some more friendly staff.

Simply superb! We had the noodles and veggie burger. These recipes are the best I’ve tasted in raw foods. The service was the most gracious and helpful I’ve experienced in ages. They whipped up a special sauce without nuts or seeds for my friend’s special diet. I could come here time and time again.

My girlfriend and I met here for lunch yesterday. Not what I expected for Birmingham. I ordered the raw nachos and she ordered the inside out rolls. She ate 2 and pushed them away. I cleaned my plate only because I spent 12 dollars plus on it. The presentation was less than desirable served in a plastic plate. The avocado was partial left over from the previous day. Not very appetizing. The kitchen was not very sterile in appearance. The young man preparing the food kept wiping his gloves on his dirty apron. Just was hoping not to get food poisoning. I was spoiled by the Blooming Lotus in Portland OR where I sat outside café style and presentation and food was amazing and cheaper. I like what they are trying to attempt but feel they need to go to raw chef schooling.

Had the burrito. Wrapped in greens and filled with great raw veggies, it definitely tasted different, but in a great way. Also tried the choco banana smoothie. It was thick, filling, and savory.

The wraps are amazing! I mean incredible. The customer service has a bit to be desired or I’d have given a five. Guys making food were great. The cashier was a bit distant and unable to focus on me for a few minutes while I paid. Looking at a cell phone as a customer hands you her credit card is never ever okay. Even if it is to text another customer. Prices were very reasonable. Clean place and they make the food behind a glass window so I love that transparency.

I don’t know what to rate this place because the lady serving us kicked us out before we could order. She was a bit passive aggressive which was pretty unpleasant but I don’t let these things ruin my day. I really wanted to try this place but unfortunately I was kicked out. Also it’s so pricey and caters towards white moms who enjoy yoga and juice cleanses. It’s right out of Malibu. I feel like portlandia has made fun of places like this in an episode of theirs.

The Marc’s Noodles and Green Guru smoothie were both delicious. Amazing flavors. I’m particularly thrilled that all utensils, bags, napkins, etc are 100% biodegradable. Well done on both exquisite cuisine and Eco-responsibility!

I really want to like this place first of all, and if I’m looking for a place to eat again, I will come back and reevaluate /change my review if I just came in at an off time. Let’s start with the good; parking was convenient and the location was easily accessible. The food was delicious. The negative. 2 ladies were taking up all 5? of the tables in front of the window. I was with my 15 month old son and there was NO way we were going to try to sit in the tall bar like stools. There was no back on the chairs and they wobbled. They were very kind and offered a high chair, but even with a high chair I’d have to lean down to feed him. I ended up standing and holding him in my arms before letting the workers know that we would like our order to go(we sat across the street on a bench outside, and that was nice too). The prices were pretty expensive. It was over $ 10 for a kale burrito with a water. It was about the size of my hand. There wasn’t a really big variety on the menu, but maybe it changes often to offer more choices. Bah, over all the food was good, the staff was super friendly and I really appreciate the fact that there are vegan options out there. I would come back for sure!

I almost drove past this place but SO glad I didn’t! A number 1 new favorite for when I come to Detroit! Don’t let this one pass you by. You’ve got to check it out. Super delicious healthy menu and I’m not even vegan and I loved it. Only wish I could add more stars and move them into my kitchen!

A friend and I were excited to Try It Raw. While it was good and we enjoyed it, neither of us felt that the food was amazing, and the prices certainly were not. My friend had the burrito and I had the nachos. Both had essentially the same things in them: «meat»(a ground walnut mixture), tomato, green onions, avocado, «cheese sauce», «sour cream». There was also some type of brownish sauce that I was not sure what it was meant to be but it was visually unappetizing. The main difference was that the burrito was wrapped in a kale leaf and the nachos were on cabbage leaves. I did really like the«meat», it was flavorful and was the filling part of the meal. The cabbage was also cut and plated in a way that it did work well as chips. My friend noted that she had a similar burrito at a market but that the size was larger and the price was lower at the market. We both also had small smoothies, she had the green smoothie and I had the mango. These were the stand out of the meal, both were very good and each of ours were fresh. When you order a small, they mean small, the portion was tiny. At the same time, for $ 9.75 I would not order a large. We also were not prepared for the set up. We were anticipating a café with tables, however, it ended up being more of a food bar.(This did not figure into my star rating, this is more of a note to others.) You order at the counter and if you choose to eat in, they have a counters on one wall and against the front window with comfortable stools. They bring the food out to you. They do use actual plates and silver wear which I did appreciate, I also liked the mason jars they use for water. The staff was also very friendly and engaging. We were the only customers there at 1pm for lunch and the food came out very quickly. This may be a result of what we ordered, it seemed that everything was made and cut up, they just had to put it together.

What a dissapointment. $ 9.75 for a Green detox that was premade. What was really concerning was that the girl who took my money started making a smoothie for someone else without washing her hands or wearing gloves. When I said something, she just rolled her eyes.

I was disappointed. I am a vegetarian and allergic to nuts. There wasn’t much for me to eat. I had sushi I waited a long time and I thought the environment was uncomfortable
