Heard an incredible story of the treatment of an acquaintance whose baby was born at Sanford Medical Center in Bismrck with Dr. Iverson attending. She was given a drug test supposedly because she had been seen by a midwife and not a doctor. She was in labor though the baby was five weeks premature. The test came back positive for methamphetamine. As they were preparing to take my friend’s baby away, Dr. Iverson told her the tests never were wrong. The staff began to treat her differently as she protested that she didn’t even take Tylenol during her pregnancy. When she was re-​tested, it came back negative. I can’t believe they re-​tested her, but luckily they did. Dr. Iverson never apologized after putting someone in total stress while delivering a premature baby and then threatening to take the baby away from a drug addict. My friend says it’s the worst time in her whole life. Having a baby should be the best time of a woman’s life. Dr. Iverson is lucky she doesn’t have to pay thousands more in malpractice insurance.
