Not sure why it’s still being called Dory Hill KOA. The new name is Base Camp and Pickle Liquors. Anyway, this place is great. The owner and staff are super great people. Its nice to have a convenience store and liquor store so close. We also get our propane there. I have not camped there as we live up here but it always seems like everyone is having a good time though

I stayed here in the fall for one night. I would stay here again, but only in one of the cabins. It is in a pretty location, but is right off a main road. The tent site I stayed in was one that was closer to the road, and I wasn’t thrilled about that. But it was easy making reservations, and it was reasonably priced, so I’ve happy with the overall experience. I’ve stayed in a couple KOA campgrounds, and I think this one is a little more crowded than others. I.e., the campsites seemed closer to each other than in other campgrounds. Maybe it’s just that there aren’t many trees between several of the campsites? Anyway, I was slightly uncomfortable being so squished in with a lot of strangers in our tents. I would recommend looking at the map and choosing a campsite that seems farther away from other campsites. The campground has good amenities. Our site had a good-sized fire pit and a trash can and a picnic table. The driveway was large enough for a standard truck. The bathrooms seemed to be kept pretty clean and are well-lit. The showers are good-sized. There are also some easy hikes/dirt walking paths across the road.
