If you want to know what it was like to go gambling in Colorado in the late 90s, this place is for you. They only have slots and video poker, from my friends who only like slots and video poker, they find this place fun and friendly. I like table games, so it was a little disappointing. They do have a restaurant upstairs with cheap specials and the food is pretty good considering the materials they have to work with(cheap materials will only elevate your food so far, even though the chef did his best). The upstairs is reminiscent of a restaurant in small town in Iowa, complete with the dessert case. So in other words, not really my bag, but a lot of people seem to like it for the reasons mentioned within.

I stopped in recently to take a little breather during the walk from Central City to Black Hawk, and to sign up for a players card. I’m not sure if this property is open 24 hours or not. Staff members were friendly, and I got a coupon for a $ 2.99 prime rib dinner, which I’ve heard is excellent. Big plus for the coupon not having an expiration date. The restaurant appeared to be on the upper floor. It looked like there was a good variety of machines, although I couldn’t find the ones I usually play. The all flourescent overhead lighting was a bit too bright, but I’m sure I’ll be back just to check out the prime rib!
