Decent food. Served hot. Fine service. Fast. I would, however, recommend that you carry out. It was very warm in the small dining area. Only 5 tables. Ours unfortunately was located right next to the large fan used to cool the place… and my broccoli.

I am surprised anyone would give this place a high rating. It wasn’t that the food was bad — it just had little flavor at all! Grocery store heat and eat Chinese food has more flavor than food from this place. I just moved to the area and was hoping to find a place to go for good food. Clearly, I need to keep searching.

Having just moved to Asheville, we’re enjoying exploring all the fabulous restaurants in the vicinity. Asheville seems to have a dearth of Chinese restaurants, so we expanded our search to Black Mountain. We are so glad we did! Number One China is hard to find, at the far end of a little shopping plaza, next to a Dollar General. The menu is astounding in its variety, and the prices are incredible. We ate for under $ 18; my husband ordered hot and sour soup and shrimp with black bean sauce, and I had sesame chicken. Both the soup and the chicken were huge portions; the hot and sour soup ranks among the best I’ve ever eaten, and that includes several restaurants in the San Francisco Bay Area. We will definitely be returning, for the quality as well as the price. I give this 4 stars because the menu is really geared toward the American palate, so not true Chinese.
