Awesome!!! Ask for dough for the kids, great views, pet friendly, great thin crust crispy pizza, friendly staff and fabulous rustic atmosphere.

Sadly, no vegan options because there is cheese in their sauce. Such a shame because it is a cute place with a great view. The owner seemed to really want to do a good job… but…dairy in the sauce? Ugh.

This place was great! I can’t wait for them to get the different types of dough made from the left over beer stuff. The crust had a nice texture. The stuff mushrooms are a must!!! I will most definitely come back.

While, not a bad pizza. I ordered 2 large 2 topping pizzas and paid over the phone since someone else was picking them up. When I received my receipt via email, I was shocked to see a price tag of nearly $ 53. While calling to verify I was made aware that I had somehow ordered XL pizzas. While the pizza is tasty, I cant get over the price point and the feeling of being bamboozled.

Delicious pizza! Love the thin crust and being able to watch the action in the kitchen from the bar. Had the stuffed mushrooms appetizer with jalapeños and bacon and a large cheese pizza. They’re almost done(or maybe even done by now) renovating and adding more seating outside and let me tell you — the view is very nice! They’re situated on a hill in a residential area, which I see from previous reviews may be deterring. But, that’s one of the things I love about it! It’s definitely a tucked away gem in Black Mountain. I wanted to also add how I called to place an order to pick up, unknowingly, hours before they were open and someone still picked up the phone and took my order! It did take an extra hour to heat up the oven and make my order, but if that isn’t some darn friendly service.

10 girls showed up at 9pm at night and Jay was fantastic. We got the biggest pizza we have ever seen and it was delicious. Also great was the Greek salad and he made us a yummy dessert pizza. We even had him cater pizza and pasta for us a few nights later. Fantastic customer service and prices. HIGHLY recommend!!!

Visiting from out of town, I was looking for a good slice of pizza. I’d tried the main recommendation for pizza, which is the standard for a good pizza. The flavor and crust of this pizza is on par with some of the best known independent pizza restaurants in this country. As a fan of New Haven style pizza, I was really happy with the crust of this pizza and how it accentuates the ingredients. The ambiance of this place is fantastic. It’s rare to go to a place and feel instantly welcome. I would recommend this pizza joint more than most of the places in Asheville. Hands down a great place to go.

Really enjoyed this place. It might have the best view for a restaurant in Black Mountain. It is small and cozy inside but the outside sitting area shines. Looking forward to visiting in the fall to take advantage of the outdoor fire pit being constructed. The owner served us, and he was personable and friendly. He made sure our visit went smoothly and cared about our experience. In my opinion, excellent service is a rare thing to find in Black Mountain and Asheville. Pizza was good. It had a thin crispy crunch which separated it from other pizza joints in the area.

We really enjoyed the pizza. It reminded me of my hometown pizza place. Crisp buttery crust and fresh toppings. We had stuffed mushrooms to start and you get to choose the stuffing! We had tomato and basil. Baked with mozzarella, it was very good. We will definitely be back!

Awesome food and great ambiance! Had their house specialty pizza and it was amazing. Jay and Daniel were awesome and provided top notch service. Will return again next time I am in Black Mountain for sure!

Very small restaurant that backs up to what looks like a junkyard. The inside seemed nice and the patio will be nice in the warmer months. One thing I did not understand was that they had cheap looking large pizza sauce cans in every crevice of the restaurant, almost flaunting that they used canned sauce. None of these things is the reason for a two star review however, I am basing it solely on the quality of the pizza; it was legitimately one of the worst I’ve had. We ordered a deluxe type pizza(sausage, pepperoni, peppers, onions) it was completely saturated with grease and a less viscous liquid in the middle, so much so that any topping in the middle fell right off and was left with a nasty thin skin flap as half the slice. The sauce was tasteless and the toppings weren’t good either. I wouldn’t eat this pizza again if it were free. Maybe they were having a bad night, I don’t know, but this was my experience.

Tonight was our second visit in a month and we don’t go out that often. This place is casual and friendly. The pizza is excellent– best in Black Mountain and as good or better than anything I’ve had in Asheville. Electric oven, whatever– this pizza has great crust, great homemade sauce and very fresh ingredients. Seating and things like high chairs are hard to come by right now but the expansion plans are looking very promising. When the beer and warm weather arrives this place will be a local favorite for sure.

This restaurant, which is new, came highly recommended. The pizzaiolo owner is involved in large Pizza Restaurant in Gallatin, TN, and was on some national Pizza team back circa 2005. Even though this restaurant has plans for expansion, as of this visit there were only about two booths inside, plus three or four chairs at a bar, and some outdoor seats(but it’s winter in the mountains and cold). They don’t yet have a beer/wine license so only soft drinks are available. The pizza oven is only a standard electric oven, not wood fired or coal fired. So all in all I thought it was very«meh» pizza with numerous better pizza places nearby. Fresh Pizza about three blocks away has a wood fired pizza oven, and makes the best pizza in Buncombe County and I’ve had pizza in Manhattan at John’s Pizzeria as well as Napoli area of Italy – home of pizza!

The Mill is great and after construction to expand the restaurant it will be even better. The owner Jay is all about customer service and was super nice. The food was great too and our pizza was cooked perfectly. We will be back for sure. If you’re planning on eating inside the seating is limited so plan for that and don’t bring 6 people in your group or you will likely have to split up. Jay is doing an expansion to increase the size of the restaurant significantly I believe by this Spring?

Ate here and was a little disappointed based on other reviews. Paid $ 15.50 for a 16 inch and was expecting fresher ingredients for the price. Canned spinach and canned pineapple were disappointing. Drinks at $ 2.50 were a little high, compared to places such as outback and steakhouses like that. I would rather stick with papa johns for the price and quality of ingredients.

This pizza is just about as good as it gets in Asheville. In my opinion, only Diggable in West Asheville is better. But it’s close. And when you consider the price(great prices!), I think the Mill is a special contribution to Black Mountain and the rest of the area. Worth the wait until dinner time. Not sure what the philosophy is to be open from 3pm-3am and I’m not sure it will last but… it’s really good when you get it.
