Wonderful service! I see a lot of reviews complaining that the pita bread is too thin? I assume people were expecting a fluffy pita pocket maybe? The menu is more Lebanese inspired that Greek so I was expecting the kind of pita they serve here(which I personally prefer. The food is great for the price and a great alternative to burgers etc. I got food to go and they had forgotten my order of baklava. They just gave me an additional piece for free when I let them know it was missing from my order. Great vegetarian and vegan options too!

I was not impressed with Pita Vera and will not be coming back. Simply, the food is not good. The pitas are hard, cold, and resemble a tortilla more than a pita. I expected more from a place with pita in the name. If you’re craving a good gyro there are much better places in Blacksburg to go. I recommend Souvlaki. I will not be coming back to Pita Vera and would not recommend it to anyone.

I was very excited to try out Pita Vera, but disappointed in my visit and in the quality of the food. The«pita» my meal was wrapped in seemed very much like a tortilla. I found that the pita– a very important part of the meal was lacking. The flavors were decent but nothing special for the price I paid. In addition, the salad I got was excessively drenched in dressing. This was my first and last visit to Pita Vera.

The flavors of the made in house food is seriously good. I think people are missing the mark on this place. It is reasonably priced delicious, and super tasty food. The Baba ghanouj is not to be missed! Don’t spend your time waiting for a table at one of the mediocre restaurants nearby, satisfy your tastebuds at Pita Vera!

This place is priced very well and you can eat there for a low price. However, you’re going to sacrifice quality by a lot! I almost feel like every time I eat here, the food gets a little worse or has more problems. Most of the food is bland but portions are well-sized. The overall atmosphere of the place is not very pleasant. The tables don’t feel very clean and the décor seems dated and you can tell it hasn’t been cleaned.

I am not one to complain but I was very disappointed with our experience and felt I should let people know what to expect. The food tastes ok, but my suguk wrap was over seasoned and had minimal lettuce and tomato. The main issue I had was the portion size for the price you pay. These are appetizer sized wraps with very little filling. If you are in the mood good Lebanese go to Belkoom. Their wraps are amazing and you get twice food for less money.

Came here for lunch with a gaggle of toddlers and a friend. We ordered the hummus(X2), the cheese fries, and some wraps. The hummus is really good and a good portion. If you order it with the pita, the pita comes out all puffy and hot. I had the falafel wrap, which was good but much smaller than I expected. The décor is pretty typical for a college town; the painted ceiling tiles are kind of fun. Definitely a place to stop at if you’re looking for vegetarian or Middle Eastern food.

Ordered a shrimp and mushroom large pizza and I regret it immensely. Shrimp were tiny and no even de-veined. The shrimp were smaller than the size of a dime. Crust was thin, flakey, dry, and fell apart easily. Sauce had no taste. Cheese had no flavor. Will not be eating pizza again. Perhaps will try gyro or souvlaki meals next, if I got that is. Staff was polite, so that was nice.

I had the grilled fish sub and the Philly cheese sub. They taste pretty good. I never tried the pita bread though.

Pita Vera is one of the nicest choice amongst the surrounding restaurants in this area. The pita is always fresh out the oven, made right in the kitchen and hummus is great. The food descriptions in the menu are very accurate. The girl server was very friendly but service is bit slow. Food is fresh always. Vegetarian soup is abysmal, so try to stay away from it but Greek salad and kebabs are fully satisfying and yummy. Lack of vegetarian option and whatever there are, some of them are okay-ish and hence 3 stars.

Great place for your Mediterranean and middle Eastern craving. Went there a couple of times and loved the food. Especially their pita bread is so soft that it’s unreal! Had the vegetarian spread one time, the falafel wraps next. Kids had the beef and chicken kabobs. It was all good. Highly recommended. Bön appetite!

Low key place but the food was solid. The zatar was really well spiced. My only complaint was the portions(I wanted more). Other dishes looked more generous though. Glad I went.

Excellent service and atmosphere. Menu accurately described the food, which was definitely fresh & made in-house. All that said, the serving size was a bit small & we left still hungry after ordering a full entrée each.

In an area where finding good food can be a chore, Pita Vera stands tall and blows away the stuff you get at the many chain, fast food restaurants nearby. We stopped in here prior to the Virginia Tech football game and experienced excellent service, good food and a quick turnaround on our order. While there’s many impressive aspects of the food here, note that their pita is hand made, on the spot, rather than the store bought, weeks old stuff you get at many competitors. The hummus was wonderful, too. We had the mixed kabob and the chicken shawarma. The chicken was tender, juicy and packed with flavor and the kabob was awesome, packed with flavor and making you want to order another round. We truly enjoyed the meal here and you will, too.(And, we’ve been to Blacksburg a dozen times the last few years and have eaten at most places in town, so our comparison wasn’t a fluke.)

Most disappointing … the worst Gyros pita I have ever had! The pita was thin, tasteless, and stiff. There was hardly any meat, and what little there was was very under seasoned. It had none of the yummy yogurt accompaniment … dry and tasteless. So disappointed. Gyros are usually well seasoned, moist and oh so yummy! The chicken souvlaki was also disappointing with the meat stand under seasoned as well. Too bad.

Great service! However, service is nothing without decent food. Literally the worst felafel anyone in our group of four had ever tasted. It was chopped up in bits like cat food. The biggest piece in my wrap was the size of a dime. I tried to pick up it gently and it fell apart. Water tasted good tho.

The food here is great! I often get it to go when I’m craving something Mediterranean. Definitely go for the mixed kabobs. They are served with rice, hummus and a side salad. My only complaint is that they do not have tabbouli. Not at all. Disappointing, but still the kabobs are very good.

Great food. I’ve been craving good Mediterranean fare since The Isaacs in Grandin Village shut down — and Pita Vera hits the spot and then some.

I am a firm believer on checking back on your tables. And not once did our server ask us how are good our food was. So for that already I would say horrible service. The foods was okay. The salad is just a bowl of lettuce not an actual salad be warned

Super yummy food and relatively low-cost. I’ve been to Pita Vera twice, and may return when on VT Campus. Their portions are quite large, which I was surprised, but pleased to see. Also, a diner can substitute the house chips for fries, but both are delectable. This restaurant offers halal food and a great variety of fish sandwiches. Other then that the restaurant is quite large and offers great seating for large and small groups. Also, the ceiling tiles are great to play I-Spy
