No paper toweling to dry one’s hands in the restroom. I had to resort to the old«dry hands on pant’s leg» maneuver. {SMH} Toilets out of order. Dirty and«wet» floors in the men’s bathroom. I didn’t see any attendants on duty cleaning up. The actual welcome center /free maps area looked to be well maintained. This Welcome Center is below the standard of those found in NC and TN. It gets the job done for a potty break /stretch one’s legs — but that’s about it.

It’s a nice rest stop with clean restrooms. Stop for a second. Get out. Stretch your legs. Take the dog for a walk, and enjoy the sunshine in South Carolina.

Welcome to South Carolina from North Carolina along I-85 South. This is a helpful little highway rest stop with the usual parking, bathrooms and vending machines. But during business hours they open up the proper welcome center, which is staffed with people who can provide directions to South Carolina amenities and I think they’ll even be able to hook you up with hotel discounts. And they have a wifi signal available but only when they’re open. South Carolina: Smiling Faces, Beautiful Places.
